Amex has 5million cards in Australia and only 10000 real cardholders.

  • how to register supplementary card? do I need to create another login for it?

    • nvm, i've found old login I used last year

  • I try to recall, how do we add shops that accept amex for opal cards in google maps? If i recall correctly there was a green/yellow symbol pointed to eac store. Yellow might accept (previous year) and green accepts..

  • I got on 4 of 8 cards.

  • None of my sups have it yet

  • Wonder if they're staggering the roll-out of the offer to supplementary cards to allow more people who only have a primary card the chance to take up the offer before registration is fully subscribed, as it fills up pretty quickly with so many people registering who have anything up to 20 supps or more.

    • I don't see it on my only card yet.

  • All my cards were up x 5.

Bit annoyed my 2 local takeaway joints don't accept deal anymore though.

my 2 local takeaway joints don't accept deal

      Eat non-local then…

  • +4

forumninja, wake up! we need the manual link please :)

  • When I try to save it, it says:

Sorry. We were unable to save this offer to your Card. Please try again later.

    • Try on desktop if your using the app

      • It's working now.

  • Some places on the maps that accept the card have been out of business for over a year, but they are still listed.

  • +1

Our local KFC is not on the list :(

      A sad time for all

  • +1

Just a reminder, if you dont see the shop small make sure you scroll through all the offers. On my sup cards it was over half way down.. strange as new offers are always at the top.

On a side note, picking up my car from the pannal beaters today and they are part of shop small. Saving $10 on a $750 doesn't give you that same winning feeling. If I was a true OzBargainer I would have 10 sup cards and demand they split the payment over all of them lol

  • Received only on 4 out of 11 cards. Hope it gets published sooner.

  • LOADED!

  • Love the deal but hate the map!

Had the same response from Sierra too

  • Ume Burger is a participating Shop Small Business. Does this mean that we can double dip for the 2 separate Amex offers (spend $45, get $15 back AND spend $20, get $10 back)?

    Thanks

    • Probably. Have managed to double-dip before in that situation.

  • +4
    • Great work thanks. Why do you think it is non exhaustive?

      • I used a 3rd party dataset from years ago to pull lat/lon data from aussie suburbs for the query. Many new suburbs have been formed since then hence there is a possibility that a couple stores here and there were missed.

        • So it would generally only be stores in new suburbs?

          • +1

@knobbs: Correct, but those new suburbs will generally be picked up anyway because of the way the AmEx search query works. I just put the disclaimer there so that it's not used as a source of truth in case any are missing.

  • is there an update for 2019 participating retailers?

    • Have you tried using the Shop Small map? :/

      • How do I know which shops are participating?

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xsZWno2TvD4pcscKYpK_… Docs: 2018 List of Shops

2017 listing: Use the Shop Small map or see the following lists extracted from the map by user thydzik ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC, WA. Excel Workbook. All Shop Small Amex Listings Map

The map is for 2017 according to the wiki. The google doc is for 2018.

        • +1

Can someone please ask thydzik to create list for 2019?

  • Still hasn't appeared on my other cards that didn't get it yet. Hope it isn't the 'phasing' and everyone else gets it in about 50m-1hr50m

  • This is ridiculous. Have been trying since midnight last night. Where is the manual link?

    • +1

      There wont be one.

      • +1

Yeah, bummer, I know there is none now, but they should seriously create one because this is extreme,y frustrating and a bad way to treat their most active customers. Was up at midnight, then again at 3am, then 4am and now after 5pm. Still nothing.

        • Hate to rain on your parade but the members they would be most concerned about keeping, I don't think would be worried about a $10 cashback offer like we do on Ozb haha

        • Ah well…

    • -1

Not a direct link but go to https://global.americanexpress.com/offers/eligible and check if you can see the offer. I got an email this morning.

      • That's just a link to login to ur profile

  • Was up at midnight, then at 3am, then 4am, then 5am and now after 6pm. Still nothing.

    • Same here. Very poor form on Amex's part. Also, it is not true that a card that does not show up is not eligible, because others with the same card have been able to enrol. Very badly communicated.

      • Complain on their FB page for shop small.

  • Kane at 1x:xx, Nov 1:
I checked the details further about the shop small offer and it was a targeted offers this year.

So on the card accounts where the offer was sent, it shows under the offer section like other offers on your account.

As the offer is not showing on your Amex online account, that particular card is not eligible for the Shop small offer

    • +1

I didn't mind waiting but when every other rep told us it is either coming out in phases or wait until 5-6pm. Then they just say it was targeted at the end of the day and you don't get it… ugh

      • Exactly. Why were we told the WRONG information, to begin with?

        • +2

Gotta close those tickets as fast as we can.

          Improve those KPIs

  • +2

Mods - can you update this deal to TARGETED?

  • Email says offer limited to the first 118,000 cards to save the offer.
I've got 6/8 registered. Waiting for the last two to be offered.

    • +3

Just be patient, you might need to wait until 2020 shop small promotion :)

  • Amex: Hi, welcome to American Express Chat. How can I help you today?

Me: hi i was advised shop small enrolments would be open at 5pm AEST have you guys changed this?

Amex: The enrollment started as scheduled; however, as per the latest uodate that we received …Shop Small this year is a targeted Offer. Not all Cards are targeted to receive all Amex Offers. If you’re not seeing the Offer on your Card, it means it is not eligible. That being said, you may be eligible for other Amex Offers on this Card, or other Cards if you have any

Me: ok thanks, what's the reason for this change?

Amex: We do not have this information yet. It was just communicated to us that this year Shop Small offer is targeted.

      First Vogue, now this ☹️

Shop Small this year is a targeted Offer.

All my Amex cards say NO ☹️

Big fan of shop small, shame on Amex to make it a targeted offer

  • I checked the app this morning and the offer showed up, after checking the website all day yesterday. Guess I got lucky?
