  • Does anyone have any problem with applying the discount code PLAN20 during checkout? I'm getting an error "This code can't be applied to your order" when I try to apply the discount code during checkout.

    • I just used it without any issues. Maybe you aren’t logged in?

      • okay… something's wrong with my browser… so i've used incognito mode and that worked…. thanks….

        • Good stuff. Hopefully the $300 Visa card gets thrown in with it too.

          • @Raptors: well… i've attached my ebay and paypal receipt to the link above but haven't heard anything back from Betta Living Villawood about the Visa gift card. However, they did call to say that my TV will be delivered on Monday.

  • LG 65C9 or Samsung QA65Q75? Saw these TVs side by side in JB and look comparable, but the Samsung is much cheaper using the same code. Is the LG leagues ahead to make the price worth it?

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/QA65Q75RAWXXY-Samsung-65INCH-Ser…

The LG leaves the Q75 for dead, especially if used in a dark environment. The Samsung black levels leave a lot to be desired (simply not comparable to the C9) and the overall picture quality is quite dull IMO. If you are looking for a comparable QLED, you would need to look at the Q80R series or even the Q90R series (which uses more local dimming zones). Both still won’t give you the same black level as the C9 though.
It is also worth mentioning that when you step up to the Q80R or Q90R you need to use samsungs proprietary one connect box for everything. This may be an advantage or disadvatage depending on your setup. But do note that there have been a lot of issues with the one connect box (more so the “one clear cable”) which if damaged, renders the entire TV useless.

      • Thanks for your insights! I saw the Q80R and Q90R in store but they use that black box which you refer to and I don't need it as I've got all my cables running behind the wall. If I'm forced to use it, makes those TVs less attractive to buy. Sounds like 65C9 is worth the extra spend. It was a bit thicker in size than the Samsung overall, hopefully still looks OK as wall mounted.

        • No problem. I completely agree re the one connect box as I am in the same situation as you have have all my cabling already neatly run/hidden. For this reason alone I myself would avoid the Q80R/Q90R displays. I really dislike the fact that the entire system is at the mercy of the one clear cable too due to the amount of failure rates I’ve heard about with them. Sure it’s ok during a warranty/acl replacement period, but after that the fact that the whole displace can be rendered as a useless paperweight all because of a proprietary cable, is such a step backwards IMO.

          • @Raptors: Do you know anything about burn in risk with this TV? I sometimes leaves things paused on screen for long times, but if buying this TV going to stop doing this. The first time I considered OLED TV, I was told this and seemed like a big deal.

            • @tone212: I have had the C7 for a couple of years and I often leave things paused for periods of time, and my display has no burn in at all. I get image retention, but that is not the same thing and not permanent. A couple of minutes later its gone. Can't speak to this display as I haven't received it yet, but if anything, it is meant to be better in reducing the chance of permanent burn in. rtings.com have also run LONG burn in tests on previous models and it shows its not as big of a deal like a some people think.

          • @Raptors: Good to note that with the Samsung Care you get with the qleds that you can get a couple of additional free cables or remotes, ostensibly as replacements, but also if you just want spares. Just have to ask, then remember where the heck you stored them should you ever need them.

  • Wow, good price, you're making me regret buying a C8 ;P

  • Recently Announced:
The LG C9 TV's are soon to be Nvidia G-Sync compatible via their HDMI2.1 ports, via an update.
You'll require at least an RTX 20 series desktop card (with HDMI out) or a laptop with a GTX 16-series card (with HDMI out), and they'll also likely need to be on the latest drivers and perhaps a graphics card firmware update as well.
But that makes the LG C9 series TV's a great option if you want a big-screen gaming rig with silky smooth adaptive refresh rates.
    https://www.polygon.com/2019/9/10/20859422/nvidia-g-sync-lg-…

  • Input lag on these C9's are down to 13ms…massive jump from previous versions which got down to 21ms lowest.

  • Doh LG C9 55" it out of stock now.

Anyone got the screenshot of the discounted price on ebay for price protection?

    Thanks

    • back in stock got a screenie.

thanks guys and enjoy the oled

  • Harvey norman matched the previous deal for me, picked it up for 3640, great TV no ragrets

So going by last year's model of the 65" C8 the lowest is got was $3,000 although that seemed to be in very short supply.
Realistically the lowest it got at big retailers was $3,200.

So even if you buy now, historically it would seem you might only miss out on $200-400 absolute max.

I dunno how the Visa thing works, but that would make it as good a deal as last year.

  • Quick question from a guy who needs a new telly. What do you guys think. 55" OLED… or 65" QLED/LED? distance from TV about 3.5m

I'm kinda hanging for the new LG B9, it's gotta be close.

    • +1

65” if it’s in your budget

      • sorry didnt notice you meant 65" qled/led, better off with the OLED its the new OzB standard, & would go 65"

  • Besides the occasional gaming, which one would be the best for general tv watching (including sports) and Netflix? LG C9 65" or Panasonic GZ1000U 65"? Thanks guys.

55 Back in stock, just purchased. Thanks op

I am still confused how to get VISA gift card…

      • You have to select a store of purchase, how will that work?

        • think you choose the villawood store, or just call them for more info

  • Is the LG OLED motion processing comparable to Sony's OLED these days?

  • How can we get extended warranty when buying from Ebay?

  • Looks like the 65" OLED LG no longer available…

    • Try again, another one available.

    • Gone again, hoping more stock comes back.

      • Seems like there is 1 in stock again fyi

        • Is this the 65 inch? Listing says last sale was yesterday morning. Now 55 inch is gone too.

          • @tone212: When I click on the link to go to the 65 inch listing it shows 1 available.

I can confirm (rang Betta head office) that they will accept receipts from Appliance central for the VISA promotion. The receipts from Appliance Central actually have Betta Home Living on them. Enjoy.

Oh, and for the record, I contacted quite a number of other retailers about price matching so I didn't have to pay the $120 postage and the closest they would come to was $3,700 for the 65 inch. And you also don't get the $300 Visa card.

    • Hope im wrong , though did the search before posting and 65" C9 is not there, only E9 and the 55"… Made the call also and yes the VISA card they will honour.

    • What was the retailer offering $3700 out of interest? JB?

      • +1

It was actually Betta Home Appliances.

        • Thanks for letting me know.

  • 65" C9 - This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.

  • I ordered the C9 55" Wed early afternoon (for pickup), got an order conf right away but haven't heard a peep since from Appliances Central. For anyone else who ordered, how long until you got a pickup or shipping confirmation from the seller?

Keen to get my hands on it this weekend!

    • I got shipping info same day.

    • Same… just received the email asking for my phone # ~1hr after my order.

  • Has anyone been in contact with their eBay store to see if they would get more in? Missed out on the 65 C9 and was hoping there would be more stock.

Probably best to nudge OP to edit the post

Thanks for the reply, bought one. Thanks OP as well!

        • Which one did u buy mate, when I bought 65" C9, it reached to 11 in total last night. Enjoy the TV!

    • Was wondering the same thing myself. I'm assuming they've sold more than they hold in stock. Got the confirmation email, but no shipping 2 business days later

LG 55C9 and 65C9 are back for sale under new listings:

    55C9: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OLED55C9PTA-LG-55INCH-OLED-AI-TH…

    Just purchased 65C9 myself.

Just bought the 65 C9, thanks for heads up

  • Trying to use the gift cards from the ebay uk deal but get an error message saying: Looks like you've used a lot of gift cards lately. You can redeem more gift cards in a couple of days.
Edit: No more than a total of $1500 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per transaction, no more than a total of $2000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per day, and no more than a total of $5000 in Gift Cards may be redeemed per calendar month. Further, you may only redeem a maximum of eight Gift Cards in any single transaction (and fewer if you are redeeming Gift Cards in combination with other redemption codes, such as coupons or vouchers).

    • Use someone else’s account or open another

      • Thanks bud. I'll hit the same limitation of $1,500 as the TV is $3,400 so won't be able to purchase it entirely on gift cards like I hoped. It still leaves me with a healthy ebay balance so that new LG gaming monitor is on my list! I placed my order but regret using my credit card with price protection. I should have used PayPal as the PayPal receipt would show the full amount right? I"m not sure if I did the right thing by paying via CC (with PP) for this as I'll only be covered for $1,900 as shown on the invoice.
        $1,900 + $1,500 (gift cards) = $3,400.

        • +1

Yeah you’ll be covered for half the amount for PriceProtection, really should have purchased it all with your CC for PP advantage, even if you used PayPal your transaction on 28deg is the value they go by not by the receipt, as for the gift cards that’s bs can only use a certain amount, why sell them then limit the amount you can spend

          • +1

@RogueWolf: @RogueWolf: Cheers for the post mate, saved $150 paying with those gift cards, so with the $300 credit, all up it came to $2,950. In hindsight, like you said, should have gone the whole whack with the CC for PP. Oh well. Lesson learnt! Picked mine up today. Barely fit in my little car!

            • +1

@lordra: No probs.. $2950 still a great price & atleast will get back 50% of any fall.. enjoy the tv..

    Bought one, Thanks OP!

  • What's up with the postage cost on the 65"? They want $240. I bought a 75" from Videopro 12 months ago and only paid $99 postage…

The 55" is only $45 postage too.

    • I paid only $40 for c9 65 (NSW)

      • I've contacted them about it so will see what they say. Funny how the 55" is $45 but the 65" is $240 and like I said I only paid $99 for a 75" last year. I'm in QLD.

        • +1

Well they responded and said they would look into it. The shipping cost of the 55" has increased from $45 to $120 while the shipping cost of the 65" remains at $240. Guess I shouldn't have said anything. What a rip.

  • they’ll ship the 55” to FNQ but not the 65”. What? I want the 65”.

    • +2

Would be the transport company they use why the shipping prices are all over the place, no benefit to appliance central missing out on sales due to shipping costs, I’m sure they would charge less if they could..

  • I have no idea how to get the credit card.
It does not appear anywhere on the ebay add.
How do you buy it thru Betta when it is sold by Appliances Online?

    • They may have different accounting software/files etc, so even if they wanted to sell it at that price they may not be able to.

I'd be curious to know if you could buy from Betta at Appliance Central prices, it would save me $220 in delivery for just one item.

  • Anybody else purchase yesterday and have not received a confirmation from Appliance Central?

    • I bought it on early morning of Thursday, Sep 12, 2019 still not a word from them untill now, only paypal's confirmation email. I emailed them and no reply as well, not happy!

    • Update: the TV was delivered just now. Quite impressed with the prompt service however was told the tax invoice will be sent in 1-3 days.

      • Did you end up getting notice that it had shipped?

  • +2

Thanks for this! Bought a 65" C9. Seems like the Visa gift card redemption will work - thanks other commenters. Fantastic bonus and a great price in the end.

Excited for the OLED way of life!

    • Pratty, can u explain the visa gift card?
I am cluless how to get/claim it
      cheers

      • Hey Steve, am yet to claim myself. Need the tax invoice first (once item ships). Seems like it’s pretty straightforward at the link in OP! Will let you know when I do it.

        • Thanks Pratty,
Do you mean this link > https://www.betta.com.au/september-bonus-visa-gift-cards-red…
What has Betta.com.au got to do with Appliance Central > https://www.ebay.com.au/usr/appliancecentral
          Two completely separate companies.
Also, I must admit I'm a little suspicious how the link to deal on ebay keeps changing. Its almost like ebay kills the link and they make a new one.

          • @steveaust69: Yep that’s the link! Appliance Central (eBay) is just the Villawood Betta Home Living store.

I think the link keeps changing because they are selling out of the quantity they have listed on eBay. They then re-list as they have more stock. So I’m hoping anyway!

Pulled the trigger - thanks OP.
One of the best deals I've seen.

Thanks for the post. Couldn't resist this time. Pulled the trigger on 55" Pana eventhough my 42" Pana plasma serving well for the last 11 years…

  • Where can I purchase a wall mount for the 55" LG C9?

I've also purchased OzBargain's favourite soundbar to go with this (Yamaha ATS1080B) and was wondering how I could mount that as well. Is there a special wall mount that mounts both the TV and the sound bar or are they separate?

  • I'm not seeing the discounted prices me.
The LG 65" is displaying at $4,200 for me and not $3400.
Is the deal expired or am I missing something?
