Does anyone know if 38.5 to 39K is a realistic driveaway price for a Subaru Forester Premium in Sydney ?
I'm a bit of a newbie to buying new cars so I've just subtracted 10-12% off the RDP on the website to get those figures.
Is that attainable in the Sydney region (specifically Western Sydney) or unlikely ?
Also, does anyone have thoughts on how the Forester stacks up against the CX5 ? Looking for a decent SUV for family of 4 (2 adults, two toddlers).

Jump onto carsales and see what the lowest advertised price is on there.
That's your starting point.
Dealers rarely advertise much under RRP, maybe a few hundred to a grand at best. You can do a lot better than that. I'd certainly try $38.5k but you must be ready to sign and be prepared to walk away and try another dealer and know in advance what the most is that you're willing to pay. It'll also help if you're not picky about colour and willing to take something they have in stock. It's possibly a little low but new car sales haven't been great and you can always up your offer if you're not getting anywhere after a couple of dealers.
I'd buy a Forester of a CX5 anyday and I'm not a fan of Subaru.
I recently purchased a 2.5i-s for our family of 4. No regrets what so ever, definitely the better choice over the CX-5!
