I have a friend who has 2 samsung watches going cheap One is an s3 frontier, and the other is an s3 gear sport. I like the look of the frontier, but the gear is more expensive???
I want to utilise the microphone on it as well as Samsung pay. I read the gear may have a better nfc on there?
Both are non cellular.

I liked the s3 frontier better than the gear sport as you can take a phone call on the frontier but on the sport it just notifies you there is a phone call you still have to talk on your phone.
Gear sport is waterproof big plus for me I only take mine off for charging
The Gear Sport is more focused on being of a fitness sports watch used for the gym, going on runs, etc whereas the frontier is more like a traditional watch. So it depends on what you are going to use the watch for and what look you want to go for.
I have the Gear sport and I'm very happy with it. Works well and has a variety of workout options to choose from which is neat. Sometimes though I wished I got the frontier instead as it's a very sporty looking watch and might look out of place if you wear it with different styles other than the very casual, active look.
Like, for example, formal attire or Smart/ Business casual.
The Gear Sport was the cheapest when I got mine. :/
