Can you extend this from Dec 31 by a few days?

If the service is a little.. basic.. then ending at a time between Christmas and new year could create port-out drama, which could leave bitter feelings from a lot of users. That's not good for anyone really.

I am not sure why you think that could cause issues during that time.
Pretty sure all ISP's will be available to assist customers.

Keep in mind you can move your service to another ISP any time before this as well.

Hi rep, How do we know that we have made it in your "50 Spots"? I submitted an application yesterday and received an order number. I received the login details for your portal and modem etc as well but I just don't know if my order has been accepted on your end and if the order has progressed or not?

  • Hi,
If you received all of the mentioned notifications you are definitely signed up with FibreMax.
    Regards,
    Tania

      Hi,

Any available spot left? About to jump the ship from my current ISP. FibreMax comes in at the right time for me. But would like to try it out first to see how it goes.

      Thank you

      • Sorry Allen, we don't have any spots left.
We are launching our new website on 1 Nov 2019.

Will place more info on ozbargain closer to the time.

Once again sorry that we cannot help you right now.

    • Hi Tania, Thanks for your reply. Yes, I received all those login details (for web portal and also for modem), so I am assuming my order has gone ahead as you advised. Could you please also clarify one more thing? I am on FTTN, so do I need to cancel my existing service with my current provider first in-order for your connection to go ahead or do I need to wait to get connected from you guys first and then let my current provider know to cancel my services with them? Will I receive a text or email once my connection is up and running with you guys? Thank you

      • Hi,
You can wait till our service is active and then you can cancel with your current supplier.
Your service would have been processed as a transfer and that can take 24-48 to complete.

You can change your modem settings once you receive our email indicating that your service is active and fully provisioned.
Please keep us posted on the progress. You are welcome to email me your name and I can check on your order.
        [email protected]

  • If you cancel now will the cancellation take immediate effect or can you specify until 31 December? Wondering if I should wait until 1 December to cancel?

  • Ugh, signed up to give it a go, didn't bother changing the login from ABB. Just put through my request to cancel. Now, since I'm past the date I'm gonna be slugged the fee for nothing.

Side note, the guy who called to see if everything was ok needs some serious phone training! Didn't sound professional at all!

  • Has anybody cancelled there NBN connection ? if so what is the process ?

    • I cancelled by email on the 1 December and requested cancellation effective 31 December 2019. The cancellation was confirmed and my NBN service was successfully turned off last night.
If you are on the free trial offer and did not cancel on 1 December 2019 you will be trapped in a long term contract.

      • It is month to month plan, not a 12 or 24 month contract. What is the email address that you sent the request to ?

        • There is a contact option in your account on the website, allows you to raise a ticket or something. Do it through there
