  • Voucher code isn't working for me. It comes up with this error: "This code can't be applied. You can only use it via: computer browser, eBay app for iPhone, mobile browser, eBay app for Android, eBay app for iPad."

I've tried it both via the iPhone app and computer browser. Both produce the same error.

    • tried got no issues, contact eBay support for help

    • I had the same issue, and then the last unit was sold as I tried a different browser.

    • Same happened to me, changing to Edge browser without ad/script blocking worked.

  • Last Samsung 4K TV i got about 5 years ago was 55" as the 65" were too much, nothings changed still $1400 more? why is 65" $45 delivery and 55" $85?

  • +2

Is there likely to be a similar or better deal for the C9 55" on black friday?

    • +2

      Probably

  • I'm not sure if I should buy a C9 65 now or wait for C10 12 more months. I think I might wait

    • +4

or wait for C11 24 more months. I think you should wait.

    • +9

just wait for c1492 in ur 10th reincarnation.

  • As soon as the C9 65" hits $2800 I will bite the bullet. Had a C7 which was brilliant (which was replaced with C9 a few months back)

    • do you think that is the lowest it will go?

      • It will probably go lower, but I'm not after the "best price", just need the bigger TV soon for the loungeroom and told myself I don't want to spend more than $2800 :)

        • I paid $2950 on the last deal (including the gift card).

          • @lordra: Great price. Hoping I can snag a ~$2800 price by Jan.

    • Did you honestly a difference from C7? I have a C8.. no need at all to change to the same TV a year or two newer.

Was the C7 not bright enough or something?

      • Nah not at all, I loved the C7 but it was showing some banding so LG replaced with the C9. I wouldn't have upgraded if I had to shell out for it as the difference is minor at best, but there's a few nice features in the C9 I'm looking forward to using in the future (eARC, G-Sync).

        • so LG replaced with the C9.

So if they replaced with C9 why are you looking to buy another?

  • Anyone know if the 55 will come back in stock/will be on sale in the near future? Had it in my cart and as i hit confirm it told me the seller has sold out. I'm absolutely fuming.

  • +2

    55 is back in stock.
Edit: In stock using a different link. Search their store.

  • What's the warranty like for LG? 3y?

    • What? Where did you get 3y from? Most TVs nowadays offer only 1 even Sony gives 1 for their $4500 OLEDs. Hisense and TCL offer 3. Samsung offers 10 years against burn-in for their QLED range, but all aside you would need to purchase extra warranty which depending on the retailer could cost around $150-350.

      • +1

I was pretty surprised by 1yr warranty on my C9. 1yr doesn't seem reasonable, nor in line with ACL.

      • You'll get 3-5 years for free from the retailers ACL obligations as a minimum. Regardless of what the manufacturer themselves offers.

        • This. You might have to do a bit of nagging and escalation for them to play ball.

I got Sony to fix my broken tv (3.5 years old) by invoking the holy phrase of "ACL obligations".

  • This would've been sweeter if they still offer the gift cards on top of the purchase. Any of you guys who bought last time received your gift cards?

    • Still waiting on mine.

  • Was looking at the 65" C9 but read some positive reviews that the Sony 65X9500G is as good despite not being OLED. OLED might have blacker black, but unnatural black is not necessarily a good thing. Just waiting for the 95G to go on sale. If it get's to $2k it'll be hard to say no.

    • +1

I think it comes down to individual preference - I read the same comment too and went to JB to have a look. Luckily they had the LG OLEDS displayed in one row and the X9500G in the following row.

They both looked really good so I decided to get the X9500G in the last Myer sale, definitely don't regret it. Everything works great and watched Carnival Row on it with plenty of dark scenes and I am really happy with it.

My wife was really set on getting the OLED until she saw the display at JB so maybe do that and then decide which is best for you.

Don't really buy into the whole OLED is not as good in a bright setting as the store was really bright and it had no issues beside the X9500G. Both were fantastic but I felt better spending $2K instead of $3K.

      • To be honest I can't even tell much difference between X95 and X85.

    • +1

The X9500G has some major blooming problems apparently. So unless 95% of your watching is in a bright room, i'd steer away.

      • Had to read up on what blooming was - haven't noticed it but will go home and take a closer look.

      • Nah, adjust the black levels and contrast and you have a superb bright image for proper 1000+ nits HDR content without noticeable "blooming". Insane colours and highlights. Plus colour accuracy out of the box saves money for calibration. Excellent tv for the price!

    • The Sony are not even the best LCD, just cheap, good bang for buck.

    • but unnatural black is not necessarily a good thing

How can you describe black generated by switching off the pixel as 'unnatural'? Isn't that how actual black is made in nature.

      • Yeah but take a look around you in the real world you and you pretty never see real black anywhere in nature. Even black things reflect some light making them various shades of 'almost' black.

So sure it's black, but absolute black is not required to depict the world around us

        • But these panels can reproduce absolute black AND any other 'black' that you need. Non-OLED panels are never able to reproduce absolute black.

        • +1

you pretty never see real black anywhere in nature.

          Uh DARKNESS?
          My old friend?

  • My question is 65" pana/LG (likely Pana) or which ever is the best deal come Boxing day.

    Orrrrrrrrrrrr

    75-86"….

I keep telling myself I need OLED - but when I look instore the LG 75" picture seems fine? for the same price…

    • +1

The big difference with OLED will come in darker viewing conditions.

  • Integrate test patterns and easy calibration sells the C9 for me..

  • +1

So tempting… but Black Friday around the corner and Boxing Day after that… will we see the LG 65 go sub $3k?

    • For sure -

I wonder which has the better warranty LG or pana

      • Will be more important who your retailer is for warranty. The retailers warranty obligations will exceed the manufacturers.

  • +1

Tried to get a price match at JB. No cigar

    • Try harder, can be done.

  • +3

Thanks OP! Got me 55 C9. Time to retire Sony 46 i paid over $5K in 2008 :(

    • 11 years is a decent tenure for a TV though!

      • I just sold my 52inch Samsung LCD from 2008 for $150 to get my C9 2 weeks ago :D

Still using 60inch LG plasma in family room and going strong

    • 5k in today's money is like 9k? Christ.

  • deal pixels are also quite common for OLED tvs i hear

  • I picked up a CRT on my last kerbside collection. Do not regret it for a second!
I cant see faster than 24fps anyway. Seems just fine for the biggest format in the world right now! DVDs for life!

    • It doesn't really have anything to do with being able to 'see' 24fps this is an invalid point. Also you can't compare CRT to OLED as they are ancient tech with OLED have superior picture quality in every way (as far as consumer TV's are concerned).

      • +2

Story for attention. They seem to have no understanding of fps and CRT. FPS is one of the advantages CRT have over modern counterparts

        • -1

Cinema is mainly shot and displayed at 24fps I believe (with the exception of a few 60fps and recently gemini man at 120fps) When its still shot at 24fps, and played back on dvd/at cinema at 24fps you can have a tug about 60 or 120 fps TV but it wont matter if the original source is 24fps. You cant just magically create and insert new frames which the camera never shot. When i watch a movie, my eyes cant see past 24fps (because 24fps is all it is showing me).

Sure HD resolution is a big problem on crts but on the flip side, DVDs look like shite with upscaling on modern TVs as do retro consoles! As an old school gamer and someone who is an avid cinema goer, I have more than a slight understanding of fps and CRTs. Before 4K and hdmi, how on earth did movies manage to entertain?!

  • +2

$165 delivery charge on the 55" certainly ruins the deal.

  • So tempted to buy C9 65 inch if I haven’t bought C8 55 inch last year.

    • +1

Depends on location, melb showing $30, prices would be set by shipping company no appliance central

  • For anyone wondering will JB Hi Fi price match, yes they will (depends which one you go to).

If your not having luck go or call up JB Wetherill Park, ask for Aaron (manager) and they will price match. Just mention "Appliance Central which is a major retailer is offering it for $XXX on their ebay page"

  • Anyone know how they deliver it? ie do I have to make sure I’m home for the courier?

    • Havent bought from appliance central. However if videopro was anything to go by. Someone has to be home to receive the goods.

  • +1

In case it helps anyone, I got a Good Guys store in VIC to price match on the 55" LG, as delivery was quite a lot to where I live.

    • Which store? Just called Chadstone for the 65” and they wouldn’t match. $3660 was their best price, which is way off the mark

      • Sunbury store

    • Nice one can you show me the receipt

      • +1

Yeah happy to, except I can't upload on here. Will try to upload elsewhere and post a link.

My dad just purchased the LG OLED 65C9 for $3350 from binglee. Any chance to refund or get it price matched from them?

  • Insane price for 2 fantastic panels!
Pana for out of the box accuracy, LG for everything else.
Worth upgrading from my 55B7? Probably not.

  • I ended up buying it from HN for $3150. Extra $100 worth it to not stay home from work and wait for it. Able to take it with me, so I’ll be watching it tonight!

    • How did you haggle it down? Did they give you the $190 Gift Card with it too?

      • No, that’s how they got it down. They applied gift card to the price.

  • +1

Just picked up the LG C9 65" for $2950. Good Guys.

    • Down from $3,795? How did you manage that!?

      • +2

They priced matched. Said they would need to charge me delivery. $100. Instead of adding it, he subtracted it. I have no idea what happened. Just went with the flow.

HAHAHA! Well done! You've hit my price from the very first deal, awesome sauce!

  • Has anyone got jb hi fi , Harvey’s etc. to price match at all ?

    • Lol JB Sydney said the lowest they could do was $2255. What a joke. $1950 from JB Macquarie Center. Will try Wetherill Park tomorrow

      • Go Chatswood Chase JB. I got them to price my C9 65inch 2 weeks back

    • JBs did the LG 65 for $3,100 pick up. Preferred to buy from them so I could use some gift cards.

    • JB at Carindale in Brisbane matched on the 55" C9. Was turned down by 2 other JBs first. This one didn't even check the offer.

      • I picked up a 65 inch C9 at Carindale yesterday for $3075 which I thought was a great deal. Video pro said they couldn’t match it because it was below their cost price, which I didn’t believe. They even went as far as saying the price I had was for a B9…

      • If possible, would you be able to PM me a scan of the receipt for a price match? Much appreciated.

  • Got a price match on the LG 55 at Good Guys Thomastown. Getting delivered tomorrow as well. Very happy :)

  • Will this receive g-sync update? If so it's a killer deal for gamers

    • +3

my understanding is that it will.

    • What will the update bring?

Edit: Googled it… "G-Sync is Nvidia’s proprietary adaptive sync technology, a better solution than vertical synchronization (v-sync). Adaptive sync delivers a smooth gaming experience by eliminating screen tearing (which is associated with a PC game’s frame rate exceeding the display’s refresh rate) and stuttering (which is associated with the frame rate dropping below the refresh rate)."

Double edit: "Update (Nov. 4): Nvidia’s latest graphics driver, released Monday, adds G-Sync support for the 2019 LG OLED TVs mentioned in this article — the C9 and E9 lines — and, in a pleasant surprise, the cheaper B9 model as well."

  • +2

Does anyone recommend a thin wall mount for the 65" LG? The thinner the better, no movement required.

  • +1

This deal is no longer available for the LG 55" or LG 65".

    • Hope it comes back again

      • Still no sign of the B9 in Australia. I wonder if the C9 will reach it's price trough around black friday this year.

        • Someone said the B9 was in Chatswood Chase JB Hifi

  • Get the C9 65"! no regrets. Best price right now!!

    • fingers crossed for Boxing Day!

  • Hope it comes back the same price or lower during Black Friday. It's so hard to resist at these prices

    • its back in stock at $3999 65" & $2490 55" looks like now the cheaper B9 versions are released they may choose to keep the C9 prices higher trying to force people to buy the B9 instead

best price atm is C9 65" $3123 + delivery at video pro eBay(ebay.com.au) using code PLEASE10 if you have a card with price protection worth grabbing it at this price & claim the price drops down the track
