Awesome thanks, purchased one for click and collect and received text confirmation for pickup 5mins after!

  • This is a great keyboard, I bought the red-LED-only version last year when MWave had it at ~$98 + shipping. Very nice feel and weight, and not too loud. I lashed out and purchased a set of o-rings off eBay for $1.68 which helped to dampen the sound marginally more.

    • I've got the red one myself, with the blue switches. I've been very happy with mine, although I paid about $200 for it. A bit disappointing that the software only works with the RGB version though, as I'd like to turn down the brightness even more. I fitted the o-rings about a week ago, but I prefer the feel without them.

  • Got one in my hands at Bankstown just put it back already own a k95 rgb platinum I’ll leave it for a fellow member

I bought the Corsair k95 RGB Platnium (Brown) two weeks ago at JB Hi-Fi for $260 (price-matched); At the time, I was tossing up between this and that, but since there was only a $30 difference between them then, I went with the k95. Now, when I saw this awesome deal, I went back and told them I was having software issues with the k95 and wanted to exchange it with this one (got $130 back on a giftcard).

Now that I have used both, I can say for certain that the k95 is a little bit better overall. It is heavier (much more metal used in the construction), has 6 macro keys, and a much better/larger wrist-rest. However, for $129, the Hyperx is much better value.

  • Kingston really seem to nail the no frills yet well thought out quality gaming gear.

  • I need to replace my G710+, got a few dodgy keys and broken key caps plus i feel like a change.
Anyone got experience of both and how the HyperX compares, even though my G710+ has brown switches.

Or do the OzBargain way and buy first worry later ;-)

        Bought one ;-)
If i don't like it it will end up in the kids room, they like flashy lights on things !

What i did notice was there was 2 different box styles, one i grabbed was in a black box the others were in red and white box, store assistant didn't know if there was any difference in actual keyboard or was only a change in box design.

        • That's the OB spirit!

        • I noticed the same thing and did a bit of a double take. In the end all the details were the same but I still grabbed the black box. 😂

  • Currently using this keyboard, it's a great keyboard and feels durable due to its weight. However, the keycaps wear and tear easily.

Reply was supposed to be a post.

  • I went and bought this last night. I'm happy! First impressions.

    • solid build - has a good feel to it, the extra weight is welcome as it holds it in place better than a regular ole standard keyboard.
    • keys have a nice feel to them. First cherry KB for me but came from the "Aldi" blues and I must say I prefer the feel of the clicky blues, but the slightly quieter sound of the reds. I didn't mind the blues at all but for every day use and peace in the home, the reds win.
    • colours of the RGB and ease of changing things is easy
    • overall ergonomics and profile are slightlyower in profile and easier on the wrists

Negs - probably just the requirement of 2 usb slots. Yet to Google around and workout why it requires but my guess is to power the on-board chip and memory for the presents.

The Aldi KB from the recent specials is going back.

Cheers OP, great timing to complement my new PC build.
