  • Are these due for an upgrade/new model?
Had my eye on them for a while - didn't see blackfriday/cybermonday deals (missed the amazon one), maybe best to wait for post Xmas?

    • Perhaps there's a bump due, but it's more likely you're confusing the Momentum 1 and 2 and 3 headphones, because they are in the same 'brand' space.

Prior to the Airpods Pro and the sony XM3's being ANC kings, they did well respectively.

You only had to beat the performance of AirPods and the chinese clones. There's huge limitations for the size; it's hard to drive transducers with the limited size and bluetooth wasn't built for audio (hence why AAC/AptX is prevalent, and a little broken), so you also need a good DSP on-board to process the compressed audio and 'fix' it so it works.

The bulk size is a bit of a killer though, and 3-4 hours of battery life, as they don't have a good standby mode, so you'll probably have to pocket them frequently.

You could like them, audio is good on some music, similar to the Cambridge Audio melomania (which nobody stocks), or the equally disappointing/cheaper creative outlier gold, or the pamu slide mini's.

https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/sennheiser/momentu… is brutal but likely accurate (rtings gives the airpods pro a very similar score as well)

      side-by-side, it's ok.
