Got a call, from good guys. It was a staff member asking if I ordered a television and if I ordered it on ebay. I said yes, and he goes "ok just to let you know in future if you want you can call and we can maybe do a better price", then he hung up. About 20 seconds later I got another call from the same good guys saying they can arrange delivery for tomorrow. Very weird

    • Very interesting. I have never had luck with TGG matching their own ebay store.

      • +1

Me too. Last time I wanted to buy an aircon and asked in store whether they can do better than TGG 20% ebay sale, they said no, they can't even match ebay price, and asked me to buy from ebay. So I ended up buying from ebay and picked up in store.

    • +2

I'm guessing because eBay takes a cut for seller fees

  • Ordered on tgg website around 20 mins before deal expired. Received a call just then from Chadstone (VIC) store saying have stock to be delivered tomorrow so all good. Even got in on the free tabletop installation promotion they have on atm.

Got me worried there for a while with all the pricing error talk!

  • +1

Damn it. I bought a C9 from HN earlier in the week for a good bit more than this. Does anyone have a screenprint from GG I can take to HN to use as a price guarantee?

  • +2

I wouldn't have hesitated on this but seems I've missed out.

    • +1

No you have not missed the deal… it's for today only, so ring the store directly.
I've just placed an order. They sent an SMS, I clicked payments and bingo… all done.

  • +1

Bye bye C9 good guys stock

  • +9

Go into the store, they will take your order. Was at Castle Hill store just now, and I was told stock arrives next week. And they can do the TV for 2660 today. Including free delivery and setup.

    • How did you manage to get it down to 2660?

      • +2

I didn’t buy it. I was only there to browse. Ask for a guy name Sam.

    • Would you have an invoice to share, just in case they deny.

    • I was offered the same deal.

    • Just got the same deal as well.
      Many thanks to you

  • +2

Called up GG Artarmon and ordered a 55 for $1836. They texted me a link to an order, and I've paid and received order confirmation via email. Will pick up tomorrow.

  • +2

Man, I really wish I had a reason to buy this TV.

I saw it at night when it was at like 11 upvotes but had no reason to buy :/

  • Got a call about delivery tomorrow but had to defer to Monday as I won't be home. Got in early though so would have been allocated stock before most.

  • Just called my local store, no stock but they gave me the price and said deliver should be mid Jan.

  • +4

Just went to the store in Moorabbin DFO and got it for $2657 without delivery or installation. Have to wait 6-10 business days.

    https://ibb.co/RC9hwLD

    • I assume $2,657 is for pick up only. Did they offer you free delivery with $2,657?

      • +1

She didn't. I obliged because I live within walking distance from TGG.

        • +1

          Good luck walking it over!

    • +1

I tried calling them today and they said it was one day special price. Missed it. Its back to around $3500
      Thanks for posting the recipt.

  • Is this tv better than my sony trinitron flat screen?

  • +2

Good guys Tuggeranong, ACT are honouring the price. Preorder of 2 to 3 weeks. Id say most stores are. Until 9pm tonight.

    • What price did they quote you? A few stores mentioned $2657?

      • +1

Ordered from the same store - $2796 with $55 delivery ‘bundled’ in.

        LG 65" C9 4K UHD Smart OLED TV 1 $2741.00
        DELIVERY Zone 1 Standard Delivery. 1 $55.00

  • -2

    my budget is 1500 maximum

  • Is the remote for this infrared or bluetooth?

    • +1

It's not infrared, its either Bluetooth or wireless RF

      • Ok bugger thanks, i'm trying to work out of it can be turned off and on with Alexa. But it doesnt list those 2 commands on the LG site, i've got a Broadlink RM Pro so not sure if that will work either.

  • Just nabbed one, delivery by end of jan

    • Edit, beginning of jan

      • +2

Was told end of January by 2 different stores. One were order was placed. Might try and get delivery refunded for eBay order.

        • Is there fine print for that?

        • Was initially called back stating end of jan after I had paid for it, then the store called again and said 3 weeks so beginning of jan.

  • Anyone get the GG Extended Warranty?

    • +1

Yes I bought the extended warranty, have had a lot of luck in the past with them. Mind you last tv (sharp aquos CFL LED) has outlasted it, 12yr and going strong

      • -1

pretty sure extended warranty is a scam.

A person without purchasing extended warranty is still covered for repair/replacement (for reasonable time) even after the advertised warranty has expired. its called consumer rights guarantee and is separate to a warranty.

        https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees…

        • +2

true to an extent, just have to make enough noise.

On the GG extended warranty - it's not actually EW, it operates more like an indemnity for 5 years.

I picked up the concierge for an oven the other day but I prob wouldnt get it for a TV - personal opinion and experience is that ovens dont last the 5 years without something needing to be replaced.

    • How much did you end up paying for the 5 year plan?

I was offered $365 so thought why not given all the extras. The $300 worth of store cred over the 5 years not too shabby.

  • I got this tv for like $3,600 4 months ago or so… Haha. Killer tv. you'll all love it

    • is the burn-in over exaggerated? heard it's propagated by samsung :D

      • Burn in is a non issue. Use it like any other tv, just turn it off when not using it, and don't leave it in static images for ages and ages.

It certainly does happen but probably not in normal use,
I bought the lg, by the time it is an issue there’s probably
Going to be better tech to move on to anyway

        • +1

Check out Vincent Teohs HDTV test check on the burn in. He watched for like 20 hours a day, cycling every few hours for 6 months, no burn in at all. No normal sort of use would cause burn in.

  • Going from a 75" 2016 Hisense 4k ULED to this model. Didnt really want to downgrade in size but really looking forward to the PQ and features of this one. Had to bite at this price rather than wait for 77" to drop to a reasonable price. Ordered at 8am, had my order confirmed at around 1pm with delivery scheduled for tomorrow. Hoping that holds true.

  • +2

Called up the local store at 3pm , said I've seen it on this site for 2660 or so, he said he could do it for 2657… I asked how much for delivery? I heard your doing it for free? He said yeah can do that… Delivered tomorrow.

    Such a good deal

  • Called 2 stores earlier. First one said they wouldn't do it for that price. The second one said 2660 was fine right away. Did have to pay for delivery though

  • At 8pm Victoria time, I took the receipt that was posted in here (somewhere) with the price from GG of $2657 into JB Hi Fi and asked them to match it. They took one look and said no.

I walked over to my local Good Guys (Frankston VIC) and showed them the receipt. The guy there took one look, looked at me, and said "yeah, we can do that". No stock till the end of Jan, but that suits me fine.

  • +1

Bought for $2,796 on the TGG website to be delivered from Casula next Saturday. If I call an dc let th hem know they have c s old for $2,657 also from TGG and show them receipt will they refund difference

    • Wondering the same.

    • Update: Rang up my local GG store this morning and I was advised to purchase 5 Years Concierge Gold Service for $365 (via an email link they sent through - apparently they can't amend eBay orders) and then I was told to lodge a 30 day price guarantee protection claim once it's delivered tomorrow (120% of the purchase price difference back as a GG store credit). For a 5 year plan $365 not too bad I thought given all the extras that come with it (3 x $20 GG vouchers a year etc) so went with it. Let's see if that works worth a punt.

  • Just checked on my order and it has moved to backorder. ETA end of Jan. sadface.

  • +1

Any luck in store today even tho the deal is over?

    • +1

Yes I walked into a Good Guys and got it for the same $2657 as the above poster.

Delivery is in January but that's okay for me.

  • Thanks to this deal combined with a friends discount I managed to pick the C9 65” up for $2139. Absolutely stoked as I’ve been eyeing up one of these since the C7 model!

    • -1

      What other discounts?

    • -1

      what discounts?

    • friends discount?

      • Used his staff discount stacked with the deal. Very shocked at how substantial the discount was!

    • -2

Thanks also to the above I managed to pick the C9 65" up for $1695 delivered. Super happy as I've been waiting for a great deal since the C7.

      • Wow that’s an amazing price. Don’t know how you scored that but kudos and enjoy

      • +1

        $1695?
        Is this a typo?
        May be $2695?

        • Nah… $1695…
          I want to believe. :)

          • +1

@SickDmith: Haha this is definitely a typo.

I struggled to get $1712 for 55" C9 from JB.

No one got a 65" for cheaper lol.

  • +1

That's just great, I get bombarded with Good Guys sales emails constantly but no mention of this deal at all despite me checking the price of this TV on their website regularly (not regularly enough obviously).
The one thing I wanted to buy and found out when it's too late. Is there a way to get instant alerts from Ozbargain when a specific item is on sale?

    • I've set up a search alert for the SKU which is how I got notified :)

Wish there was a way to tag the actual product itself.

    • Have you tried going to the shop and ask nicely see if they can do it for the same price as yesterday.

      • No, nearest one is 100kms away unfortunately. I might wait and see what happens with the 77" C9.
Has anyone tried getting a price match at Harvey Norman?

        • Give them a call, can always place deposit over the phone. Worst they could say is no.

    • Use IFTTT to set up and RSS check on a specific term, using this OzBargain RSS feed: https://feeds2.feedburner.com/ozbargainnew

Then get it to email you or Pushbullet push to your phone when it's posted.

      • -1

That sounds cool, all my lights flash red and I can probably sound some alarm.

  • Anyone that lives near MoorePark that wants one pm me. I am trying to cancel my order.

  • Looks like TGG gets it cheaper from LG, this deal was a cracker one, most of the stock allocated until Jan. So doesnt look like there will ne a Boxing day special on C9 65.

  • Good Guys, Melton, VIC wouldn't have a bar of it today. They started talking crap saying they couldn't order them at all anymore and tried to sell me the display model for $2657 LOL. I walked.

    • +1

      Because it's Melton..

Try Watergardens or a place with higher socioeconomic background. You'd have good luck in Hoppers Crossing as Point cook and Wyndham Vale has made the area much better now.

  • +1

Just went into my local TGG's and asked if they'd match the price that ended recently. Managed to grab their last one in a box. Goes to show that it can't hurt to ask the question!

    • +1

Good job! Why the heavy discounts? Is there a new model on the way?
I mean they could have marked them down to $3000 and sold just as many.

  • It was around 1700 usd in US on black Friday so we are still paying 200$ more in Aud. Ces on 7 jan. So expect new models from all manufacturers.

    • Once new models are out will there be a chance to still grab the b9 and c9s at these good a price as recent deals?? Or will they just disappear when the new models are out?

      • Or will they just disappear when the new models are out?

There will be a lot of sales, they won't disappear anytime soon. Don't stress, just wait for another sale unless you need a new TV in the rush.

  • ended up canceling the order. was told it will take end of January for the stock to come back. TGG are really the worst.

  • Got our 65C9 delivered the other day. Have set the XBox One X to Game mode / OLED 95 / Contrast 95 / Brightness 45/ Sharpness 50 / Colour 55 / White Balance Colour Temp Medium / Rest unchanged I think. Wow unreal! Yet to play around with pic setting for the other stuff. Do share if anyone else got any.

  • Anyone got an opinion on whether the c9 will reach close to sub 3k ever again before 2020 models come out? Or they'll bring out the new 2020s soon and this is one of the last time we see this price??

Tossing up as jb wont go lower than 3.5k on boxing day. B9 is also 2795 for the 65".

Wondering if i should perhaps just bite the bullet and get the sony x9500g for todays boxing day price for 1980… but then if an OLED is only 900 bucks more thats way more worth it….

Wait for another b9 or c9 deal…? Or jump on a sony x9500g?

    • Wait for another b9 or c9 deal

      This ^^

  • Anyone buy one and changed their mind? I’m looking!

    • There's no stock at the moment, and wont be until end of January at the earliest. Those of us who bought it at $2700 are still waiting for it.

      • Did you have to pay the total up front or just a deposit or holding fee?

        • I was charged full amount but I purchased via evil bay.

  • Just got a call from Good Guys about eBay order, back in stock and delivering tomorrow.

    • Just finished setting it up. Its awesome.

Looks like Alexandria got 5 of them sent out. So if you were one of the lucky ones to order and got that store you should be getting your soon as well. Glad didn't have to wait till the end of January.

A negative vote for receiving my order, thanks and sorry, you obviously missed this cracker of a deal.

      • -1

Thanks for the update mate, I'm getting on the front foot and calling them. Went to two different stores to pick up this tv last year, only to find they had no stock. That's despite receiving the "Ready for pickup" email and calling in advance to confirm. Best part was they recorded that I took the tv, all sorts of fun.

I called Chadstone, apparently they're expecting their stock this week. The person I spoke with didn't seem very confident though…

        • -1

I just got the call to collect the TV from Chadstone. Good luck to everyone waiting!
