How does it move my entire lawn?

    • +3

It can because it's cordless. Corded ones can move only limited area of the lawn :-)

      • +9

Maybe it reads the lawn a sonnet about the human spirit? I guess if the lawn is Kikuya it composes a nice haiku.

  • How much watts is this. 20v seems preety low powered

    • -1

      it is 2x, so 36v

      • Pretty low then

      • +1

It says it is 20V, but the set comes with 2 batteries.

I think this is different to their 40V (2x20V) mower which they sold a few months ago.

        • I concur

The two batteries are likely to supply the high current required.

        • It's the same

  • they previously sold the mower skin alone for $179 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/489176

    • As above, it appears they are different (but similar) mowers.

Previous one was 40V and brushless.

This one is 20V and doesn't mention brushless (which is mentioned prominently for some of the other items on that page).

      • oh, you might be right. the previous was sold as "2 x 20V Cordless Lawn Mower Skin"

      • It's brushless if its the same unit which it looks like.

  • +2

    Air Pump Skin looks appealing

    • It's what caught my eye. Wondering any other more cost effective options to do the same tasks

    • I have one, it does everything it claims to do fairly well.

Saves me lugging my air compressor out when im checking tyre pressures so i do it more often and useful for blowing up kids stuff (pool toys etc..)

      • Hi Matt P, is yours the aldi one? Does it have a pressure gauge built in? If so, do you reckon its accurate?

Asking as I almost bought a similar item recently but reviews indicated that the pressure guage was way off and the manual recommended using an independent pressure guage to check tyre pressures.

        • I have one so you can pre set the pressure you want.

    • I've got a fair few ryobi tools, so hopefully Bunnings drops the price of their Ryobi version!

  • +2

oh wow. the 20v 4ah batteries have actually dropped in price from $39.99 down to $29.99, a price they were a couple of years ago

ozito batteries $69 ha ha ha

    • +2

Bunnings will price match the Ozito 4Ah battery closer to the ALDI sale date, they usually do. Give them a few days…

      • +2

        Hope so.

BTW, bought the Ozito brushless chainsaw kit based on your 2c review. Friend has used it and loves it. Thanks for the great review.

      • Can’t wait. Any recommendations on Ozito mower for 500sqm block?

        • +1

Hi Ravzter. There are a few in the range however I only know about the big brushless model with the steel deck. It's a very capable, very powerful mower however it's not really suited to my very tiny block nor my terrible uneven yard. Should be fine once we get it all landscaped however I might downgrade to one of the smaller models as I don't need such a beast. Not sure about the other models though sorry as I haven't used them.

        • +2

Don't go 18V, get the 2 x 18V and preferably brushless if you can. Steel deck or plastic is a personal preference. I prefer plastic because it's light and i mow a few properties so have to lift it up into the boot. For 500sqm will probably need a 2nd set of batteries.

Recently got the 18V brushless for my dad. Looks like a toy, super light, only 30cm cutting width but enough grunt for a small garden.

          • @BellaWii: I agree that the 2 x 20v is better than 1 x 20v or 18v and brushless mower which is what this promotion is.

            • @Barmel: Nah mate, as per all the comments in the 4Ah deal posted here on Sunday the black boxed 4Ah Batteries are $29 yet the original red boxed 4Ah batteries are still $69! I saw them at my local store and even got the guy behind the counter to scan both to prove it… it even surprised him as he had no idea and just assumed they'd changed the box design.

So yeah, if you want some 4Ah for $29 I'd get to you local Bunnings and look for the black box stock ASAP if I were you! They've been in circulation and at the low price now for many days so there may not be many left!!!

              • @SteveAndBelle: Interesting. They probably only have a limited amount to satisfy the ACCC.

                • @Barmel: Not sure about that. My local had two large boxes full of them when I went to figure it out a few nights ago. They'd only just arrived that day so they were unpacking them while I was there but had no idea about the colour/price difference.

                  • +1

@SteveAndBelle: I wonder if they use a cheaper cell in the Ozito $29 battery? You dont get the same for less.

              • @SteveAndBelle: probably a sneaky ploy by bunnings to stop people returning newly purchased batteries using an old receipt

      • No movement. Maybe they realise they lose more than they gain?

    • Might be time to get that extra Ozito or two. I've seen more Aldi stores try and clear out batteries at $20 now, which I've resisted buying. But Ozito at $30 (if they match it anyway…) I'd pick up an extra of two.
Even though it costs more I'm more likely to end up with Ozito skins long term for the usual warranty and replacement availability reasons not that I've had anything fail on me from any brand, yet.

  • The compact wet and dry vacuum looks interesting. Any feedback on it from others?

My current ryobi (https://www.ryobitools.com/power-tools/products/details/18v-…) internal seal is not working well these days. Tend to not seal the dust and it comes out from the side vents when vacuuming.

  • bunnings price match pls

I'm looking for just a cordless line trimmer (no mower). Can anyone recommend one for around the $100 mark?

    • I am looking for the same. I returned the last one from Aldi as the 1.6mm line was not strong enough to cut my grass (zoysia), this one seems to be the same one.

I had an electric one that only worked properly when I changed the line to 2mm. Unfortunately all the trimmers available at bunnings that accept 2mm are around $300

    • +1

If you have the patience you can find the Ryobi cordless whipper snipper on gumtree for $50-60 then just purchase a battery and charger on there too when one pops up. Obviously all second hand.

      • Cheers DB. Probably a good idea. I've only got about 3 square meter of grass to snip so don't need much.

  • Would the mower do 500m2 lawn, I just purchased the Ryobi 36v from Bunnings two days ago for $500 and feeling a lil jipped.

    • Please explained why jipped? I would have thought Ryobi is a far superior unit.

    • Aldi mower comes with 2Ah batteries. You will need to recharge at least twice to finish 500m2 or buy another set of 4Ah batteries.

  • +1

anyone had or used this mower before? worth getting 1?

    • Yes I have and for a smallish garden it's great.

  • +1

I've seen the battery/charger pack on clearance at other places for $20. Didn't realise it normally costs $40!
Might go pick one up then since I'm struggling to find a charger 2nd hand super cheap.

    • +1

the standalone charger has sold for $14.99 in the past and more recently $19.99. so, $20 for a 2ah battery + charger is a good price

      • Found a store selling the charger pack. Labelled (rounding up here) for $20 but scanned at $25 oddly enough. They had one 4Ah battery left in the cabinet, priced at $15!

I let it be though. 2x4Ah+1x2Ah (plus one 4Ah harvested) is enough for me.

        • $15, where?

          • @Steptoe: South Melbourne.
Probably gone by now. They had 3 left of charger kits (a couple in pretty crap/opened state)

        • i think they clear out all their batteries each time a new battery is sold. the batteries are date stamped. i suppose they could sell old as new but they are doing the right thing.

one the plus side, the batteries hold their charge very well. i opened a year old battery and it read 96%

  • Looks like the same unit so will be brushless.

    • Yeah now that the proper link/description is up, it looks like it is exactly the same as the previous one.

Now to work out how to return the mower and trimmer I paid $250 for in October (still in boxes) and get this deal…

      • I’m sensing an intermittent fault with that one 🧕🏼

      • Ws\asnt the last one just skins and this has 2 x 2Ah batteries and charger?

        • Yep sorry, bought the two separately for a total of $250 previously.

  • +1

This is such a great deal. I bought the mower, trimmer, charger, 2.0A battery and 2x 4.0A battery for $369 last time ;(

  • Anyone found any stock in Melbourne? My 2 nearest Aldis had run out by noon :(

  • I got this kit + 2x4.0A batteries (as I suspected 2x2.0A batteries in the kit would not last long) today morning and returned it by noon.

The lawn was a bit moist and lawnmower started to stall a couple of times during the job and 20 minutes into the job the mower refused to work (batteries were at 36% at this time).
at this point, I put in 2.0A batteries and had a hard time working on my from the lawn at the height setting 3 & 4 even though the grass was not that tall ( 2.0A batteries lasted 15 minutes before needing a recharge).

Line trimmer was also disappointing as it only has a single line and due to its bad design string is always short and makes it hard to trim the edges. it took me over 10 minutes to trim one side which was just 3 meters and the cut was not clean. My old $49 Ozito electric trimmer did a lot better job than this one.

    • there are nowhere near as powerful as petrol mowers. i think much of your problem is that you were trying to cut damp grass. also i suspect the batteries have thermal protection, ie will work again after cooling down.

  • +2

Thought I'd leave my feedback on this for others - I bought this over the weekend - I also got the 4ah extra battery at $40.
As a "entry-level" mower and trimmer kit, it works well for me. You're not getting a perfect "clean" grass cut, the trimmer is a bit light-weight - but for small garden maintenance its great. Easy to handle, I got about 40min out of the mower with the 2ah batteries that came with it. I put the 4ah battery in the trimmer, ran it 30min and it had 80% left. Recharge times was quick (~1.5hr from empty).

  • Out of stock Blacktown NSW

  • Can I use the Ozito batteries for this Xfinity mower? Are they the same batteries, just different the name?

  • No, the Ozito battery won’t slot in. But you can buy an adapter on gumtree that fits on top of the Ozito batteries and then you can onto the Xfinity tool.
