Kayo Sports 12 Months - $15pm ($180 Total) Basic / $25pm ($300 Total) Premium via Telstra

1610

Great deal if you are an existing post paid Telstra customer.

Deal is for new or returning customers, so I believe you can cancel your account and take this up after your current billing has expired.

Log into your Telstra account and go to Offers to locate deal.

  • The code for this is TLS10DISC, which I just tested against an old Kayo account and it appeared to work, although I didn't go through to payment as I'm still on the beteasy deal, but worth a shot IMO:

    https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/35r5yx19?p=470#r9385

    • Worth a try, but I was unsuccessful after entering the code and payment details; needs to be set up through the Telstra link.

  • Telstra rep affiliated with the offer prop here; any questions post in this thread and i'll do my best to answer.

    • How can existing customers get this deal? Cancel subscription and the resign when the credit expires?

Does it have to be billed via Telstra?

      • My understanding is that:
        - Yes, existing Kayo customers can get this deal by becoming a "returning customer" by cancelling the sub and waiting for your rollover date for the Kayo subscription to expire
        - I've been told by Kayo that it does not need to be billed via Telstra

Seeing my post above, I'm waiting on my sub to expire to see whether what I've been told is correct. If JaxDefected can confirm that would be good though.

        • +1

Can confirm that once your old sub is cancelled and expired, if you click through to the special deal you can sign up OK.

        • I've been told by Kayo that it does not need to be billed via Telstra.

Does this mean we could be billed through itunes?

  • Is thee any point for me to get kayo if I already have Foxtel cable?

    • I suspect not, as far as I know it has the same programming as Foxtel.

That said, if you're mainly using Foxtel to watch sport I'd consider cancelling Foxtel and getting Kayo instead.

      • Ok thanks. Does kayo playback on demand darts? Like full replay? As I normally record the live darts on iq3

        • +1

Yeh it does. Pretty much all of its content can be found on demand.

          • @Ragzs: Nice no need Foxtel then. Does it show all NRL live and on demand?

            • @k3nnis: I just had a look, and could find all the nrl games from 2018 and last year.

              • @Ragzs: Great thanks. Quality is good too right? As good as Foxtel hd I suppose ?

  • Just wondering if anyone has re-activated at $15 per month? I cancelled when the NRL shut down. I was on the $15 offer at the time. I now want to reactivate, but the only offer I get is 1 month free for being a Silver Telstra Plus member. I have 3 post paid services, so even if you can only activate with each service once, I should still be good to go. But I can't work out how to do it. Any ideas?

    thanks

    • Contacted Kayo today when I couldn’t find an option to reactivate my $15p/m Telstra deal. Apparently once I cancelled that was it, cannot be reactivated again so it’s standard price of $25 p/m. Seems a bit of a joke tbh. Using the BetEasy 3 months to ride me over for now but am going to get in contact with telstra considering the voucher was for 1 year and mine on started in February. Will report back if I find anything else out

      • Yeah i contacted Telstra and Kayo today and got the same answer. Not super impressed but shoulda read the fine print i guess.

        • I cancelled when The Plague hit and all the sport stopped. Figured that I wouldn't be able to get back onto the $15/month plan again, but I'm happy enough to get back on at $25 when there's something worth watching (ie. not AFL or NRL).

@Big Trev: Just be aware that the guys on Whirlpool are blowing up deluxe because the HD content is only stabbing in 720p at the moment, apparently. It sounds like lots of them have contacted kayo about it but kayo has their head in the sand.

            • @wombat81: Cool, thanks. I'm probably a little while from reinstating my subscription (likely will be whenever the first MotoGP round is), so that's good to know and I'll check out the lay of the land before I do.

@Big Trev: Fyi i tried the telstra $15 offer again today and it worked.

Fyi i tried the telstra $15 offer again today and it worked.

        • Cheers mate, will go activate mine again

        • Has anyone had success with the same number? They’re saying I can’t signup unless I get a new mobile number (?!?!?!) because mine has been previously used. What the actual f?!?!

          • @thefluffyduff: I danced this dance with them.

I'm assuming you have or had a current sub? You can't bill through Telstra, and your account needs to be inactive. Refer to my waffle in the earlier part of this thread:

"Further update. Telstra's frontline staff (chat or phone) have no idea what they're talking about this, so don't even try.

If you're in my boat, this may help. Gleaned from chat with Kayo online support

I'm a current Kayo subscriber, paying by credit card. You can't directly move from this situation to this offer.
I need to cancel my current sub. Then wait until my paid for subscription stops (for me, my subscription doesn't end until 17th Feb), so then I'm a "returning customer" and eligible for the offer. Once that stops, apparently you can then click through the Telstra link to sign up for this offer, and I don't need the billing done through Telstra (at least that's what I was told).

I'll try on the 18th, and see how I go and report back." (Spoiler - it worked)

            • @Big Trev: Thanks for the reply mate, appreciate it. Not exactly what I was talking - more Kayo issue than Telstra. No dramas at all getting the voucher/offer, but when going through redemption Kayo blocking them sms verification. Contact their support and they said because I was a former user with that phone number I had to use a different one. Back and forth for a few days. In the end I had to con my mum into letting me use her phone number! Can’t see the old cheese signing up anytime soon, but not the point! Terrible experience… but I get footy again so a silver lining

          • +1

@thefluffyduff: Yeah I used the same number, but I had cancelled my sub when footy ended.

  • Trying to redeem this offer but when I’m on the Telstra Kayo page, it lists my eligible phone number but there’s nothing else to click on to proceed to the next step. Have tried on both my ipad and laptop. My existing Kayo sub has already ended. No idea what’s going on.

Just go to the Kayo sign up page and use this code - TLS10DISC. It's the same thing.

      • Omg..thank you!

  • +1

The offer has changed over the weekend and now only applies to the 2 stream package if you order through Telstra it seems… the code mentioned above is still working though for direct orders.

    • Also, TLS10DISC does not mention a 30 Sep expiry date anymore. Hmm.

      • OK it did still mention that yesterday morning on the actual signup page over on the Kayo site.

  • Didn't work today

[400] A subscription cannot be created. This offer can only be redeemed by eligible Telstra customers through an active Telstra account at http://hub.telstra.com.au/kayo or on an eligible Telstra TV. If you do not meet this criteria but want to sign up to Kayo, please go back and remove the voucher code.

  • Tried to sign up through my telstra TV on a postpaid account and it just kicks me out

  • Hey all I’m eligible and when I go through my Telstra it says it’s sending me a one time code. Where do I find the code? I just have a data plan on an iPad - it’s not in imessage or on my email.

    • i got mine via sms

  • The offer is good for internet customers too. I'm on a monthly, no contract plan, and it's in my offers list in the My Telstra app (service that qualifies is my [email protected] account).

So, I'm not sure if it's been mentioned, but if you like the deal, you may want to check if you're eligible for the offer if you only have home internet with Telstra.

  • Good news if you have a Boost Mobile prepaid account. I turned off my WIFI (so I was connected to the Telstra phone towers) and when I signed up for Kayo I was able to get the Telstra $15 pm Kayo offer.
Note: I am using a different provider for my ISP now, but having a Boost Mobile Prepaid account seems to qualify as a Telstra account.
I also use get full access to my Telstra TV box by registering it with my Boost Mobile account.
