              • @kehuehue: Yes you need to wait 30 days from porting out of Kogan before bringing that same number to Kogan.

  • +2

Showing up as offer ends 29 January 2020?

    • That is old info not updated, but offer still live.

  • +1

Just to confirm that I ordered one today and the voucher code email has an expiry of 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2020.

    • 30/05? or 30/06 :o

      • +1

30/6 was voucher expiry date (so need to activate SIM and apply voucher by then). Considering that we are in April now, this may have been extended further.
The 31/5 is the sale date expiry.

  • Hmm tried to activate the code today and two things:

    1) offer valid till 29-Feb https://i.imgur.com/zbeYPzz.jpg

    2) tells me my code is invalid. do i have to wait 30 days? i ported into Belong from Kogan on 27-Jan.

    • Yes you need to wait 30 days from porting out of Kogan before bringing that same number to Kogan.
Try porting that number back on the 27th of Feb

      • Most plans are 28 days, so Kogan has found a new scam vector with this one.

    • +1

I had the same voucher, valid to 29/2/2020

Just as it did months ago, Firefox can't load the javascript when submitting the personal details tab. I used a different browser, entered the same data, got to the plans tab. Yay! Enter the voucher code, only to have it pronounced 'Invalid voucher'

Call support to ask about the invalid voucher, who after asking all the details of the Sim and the voucher and the number and the account details, want to know 'what kind of firewall have you got'? I explain the error response made it through from their server, and was indicative of a failure to validate the number. The error returned should be indicative of the cause, not something else. Was there an error submitting the form?

Yes, because the solution was to do the entire thing over the phone again, the port-in process is now initiated.

      • The forms can fail to load and their own voucher validations fails
      • From the beginning it has been like this, and they still don't bother to test their site properly
      • Site remains broken (some browsers on some platforms, probably most non-chrome browsers)

Combined with all the problems porting out (Vodafone/MVNO porting is the worst judging by what people say on OzB), Kogan needs to fix this part of their CX. It's not good enough to require customers to use chrome on windows just cos their developers only test the site using it.

  • If i buy this, will I be able to switch to the 365 days deals afterwards, or are those usually new members only too?

    • Yes but why would you want to? Just port to the Catch 90 day sim $14.90 then back to Kogan 90 days.

Go through Cashrewards and it's only $9.90 after cashback. Cashback on 90 Day Plan ID 834 $5.00

Cause I'm lazy. Also cause my phone doesn't have band 28. Thanks for the suggestion though

  • Can we cancel the plan through the app or something to prevent further charges (while retaining the first 90 days)?

    • you can cancel the auto renew so that when the 90days runs out nothing happens except your ability to call.

      • Great. Do you do this through the app? I'm having trouble with it remembering an old number and not letting me log in with the new one.

        • +1

I used the web login but yes the app works as well.

  • if i already have new kogan mobile sim (unused), once i purchased this deal, can use the voucher code with my new sim? or does it have to be the new sim send from kogan again.

    • +1

Pretty sure you can use the Kogan sim you already have. No harm in trying anyway.

  • FWIW I'm in the inner west of Sydney and find the coverage is pretty terrible at least half the time (get that H for the signal). Previously was with Boost (on Telstra network), which was much better as you'd expect.

Also unlike the Boost PAYG deals, you can't call overseas for free with Kogan as far as I can see.

  • Anyone having issues with mobile data being extremely slow?

  • Has it sold out again?
edit: going from the deal link works. sold out from the kogan home page link!

  • If I already have an active service with Kogan, can I use this offer to port in a new number and activate this voucher? Will Kogan stop me from using this voucher cos I am using the same ID to register?

  • Have had major issues trying to call through as the form the port-in with Kogan only accepts numbers, whereas my account with existing provider has letters. Anyone have tips on getting through to them? Called for ~ 4 hours in total so far..

    • Port to Catch Connect first. It accepts LW from Circles.Life. There is good deal for 90 days ending today.

You can use this voucher by the end of June, after nearly 90 days.

      • Sorry but what is LW?

        • When you try to port out numbers from Circles.Life, you'll know. Otherwise, no need to know.

  • im a newbie wrt porting numbers because I usually buy 12 month packs

currently got myself and 2 family members on 12 month plans expiring mid may all with catch mobile

am I able to buy 3 of these, and transfer to kogan all under the same account, would all three be classified as new services?

    • Phone number login with Kogan mobile, not email login.

      • ok, so im going to need 3 separate phone number logins?
I assume kogan doesnt have a email login with 3 separate services listed, like catch

        • You are right, different management.

  • Would this work for new customers? i.e. someone who isn't porting, but is using a new Kogan number

    • No. There is a similar better deal for Catch Connect, ending today.

  • Anyone know long it takes for the sim to get delivered?

  • I think a mod just deleted a deal for non-porters that expires on 26/04/2020 (unless sold out prior or extended)? Not that I'd use that deal when you have the $4.90 one, but it's a different deal.

  • Does anyone know if the Kogan deal for "National Calls" also include calls to 13 and 1300 numbers? Also if the 20GB data allowance per month still has a part unused in the 1st month does it roll over into the 2nd month or wiped and rest anew for the standard 20GB in the 2nd month?
    Thanks

    • it's included 13 number, the 20gb will be depleted at the end of the month and start a new cycle of 20gb

  • Dam I just ordered the 4.90 30 day new customer

  • Bought today. Woot.

  • Can I buy a sim and use it at a later time??

    • +1

Depends how much later you're looking at. This voucher needs to be activated before 11:59pm AEST on 30/06/2020.

      • thank you for that

  • Bought and activated. I ported across a few days before my contract expires with Telstra thinking it would take a day or so like last time – nope straight over in 5 minutes!

    • Your Port has been Initiated

Replied to a SMS to confirm porting

Welcome - your account is now active

Only 2 mins interval between my two emails on Tuesday

If the details match well, almost instant, no need to give extra days.

  • well that was an epic fail by kogan, and port

entered my number to port, drivers license,
    press submit

my login details didnt work, so I requested a pin reminder,

kogans activated the new number and no port has been done

call kogan, up to 2 hour wait time

    • +1

My advice is "do not try to login till porting is done".

Did you reply to a SMS to your current service to confirm porting?

      Contact them through online form.

      • oh yeah you are right,

wow, kogan phone line answered after 45 mins, not 2 hours,

scared the daylights out of me,

it seems to activate the new number, and then ports the number across over it!

thanks!! what a stress that was:)
