  • Great price, don't forget Qantas double status credits right now too. Make sure you register before booking!

  • Not gonna lie, have always low-key wanted to go to Jakarta, but given the huge flooding they're having I'm not sure now is the right time to go…

    • Jakarta is a fun city to visits for many reasons for all age. Dry season starts in May for 6 months, no flood.
Peak of rainy season is Feb, so March and April usually the rain is not intense and chance of flooding is very low.
If you travel April, should be perfect as it is not too hot and no flood.

      • Lol not too hot? It's 31 degrees all year round

      • You can have someone killed in Jakarta for $100, as long as that person is in Jakarta.

    • dude .. that was months ago. It is dry now.

  • +1

    Seems a great price.

Only problem is I do not know why anyone would go to Jakarta unless they had to. The Indoneasian government has given up on the sinking lake called Jakarta and is building a brand new high and dry capital.

    • not a great city to live (I lived there between 2002-2007) but a fantastic city to visit if you like shopping/eating/nightlife
A mix of Bangkok/KL/Singapore with a dash of Mumbai

  • +3

Bonus: Indonesia entirely Coronavirus free according to Indonesian government.

    • +3

I am not surprise, last time i went there they only serve me bintang..

      • Definitely no Corona on board service

  • +1 to Skyscanner. Was looking for flights to LCA, many of the fare finders wanted to route through LHR. EK was the obvious airline.

Aunty Betty (via Skyscanner) was about $80 cheaper than typing "auntybetty.com.au", and cheaper than EK directly.

  • Jakarta is an awesome city.

    Check out the food .

There are heaps of great music venues and they are really into live music - some of the best (completely unknown here) guitarists I've seen I saw playing in smallish venues in Jakarta.

The call of the Iman's riding through the city on a scooter at dusk is really memorable as well.

If you are feeling brave, find a local who will take you to the Golden Crown night club - massive club with great lighting and awesome music - you might be the only Buleh there but the feeling of the crowd is really welcoming and they have a lot of fun dancing, not just posing and trying to look cool like in many other large Nightclubs.

The sheer scale the crazy divide b/w the rich and the ordinary people is worth seeing - the marble lined luxury outlets that put those in Sydney to shame compared to the kampung villages full of people without basic running water.

  • The one and only time I flew with Qantas was when jetstar cancelled my flight and put me on a Qantas plane. It was the most condensed seating I've ever had, getting a blankie and shitty plane food isn't worth that for an 8 hour flight. Go with scoot or air Asia and the normal price is 500 return with cheap being 400 or even less
