Need a low profile graphics card w/ 4K for older PC

Hi all,

I've been using my trusty Acer X5810 as a media PC. It's been upgraded to SSD and 8GB RAM. We recently upgraded to a 4K TV but the current old video card isn't capable of 4K output.

Would like recommendations on a new low profile card, not expensive, as only there for 4K.

Cheers!

:)

An Nvidia GT1030 2GB would be suitable. Although go for the GDDR5 version, not the SDDR4.

    • GT1030 is great for this. You'll need Windows 10 for the right drivers though.
I gave up on Linux with it.

  • Who has one which shows 4K in the specs via HDMI? I see display port specs & 1920 via DVI, but nothing about HDMI, or am I blind?

  • second hand 960

    • Check the specs listed at the top. Low-profile, no extra power connectors on this SFF. Can't recall the PSU, but I'll say on the low end (200-300, maybe).

      • there are many half height 960 without extra power need. at least in china theres a lot

  • Asking for recs=what would you say?

You provide a link so We have something to go by.

  • I have 3 HTPC's each running Win 10 and GT 1030 cards. 3 are GDDR5 version one is GDDR4.
    3 MSI, 1x Asus
The MSI version is the one I found best. GeForce® GT 1030 2G LP OC (GDDR5)
    Link: (https://www.msi.com/Graphics-Card/GeForce-GT-1030-2G-LP-OC/s…)
    - HDMI (Supports 4K@60Hz as specified in HDMI 2.0b)
    - DisplayPort (v1.4a)
    - HDCP 2.2
    - DirectX 12
No extra power cable required! you don't need a big Power Supply either.
I can get 8 bit 4k no sweat at 60Hz but no HDR
