What's Biltong?

Biltong is air-dried beef jerky, made from 100% Aussie Beef Topside, preservative-free.
Super-high in protein, it's the perfect any-time snack.
Unlike normal jerky, our biltong is also available in soft varieties, which are easier to chew, and also dry varieties, which are a bit more tough. Which do you prefer: tough or soft?

    • Thanks for the feedback. I agree, this is something we're working on, although I can't confirm it just yet.

      Thanks spraders,
      I hope you enjoy it!

  • How long can you store this.

    • Because we don't use preservatives to prevent mould, the biltong is sensitive to humidity, so we recommend putting biltong in the fridge or freezer if you're not going to eat it in a few days.

The drier the biltong (e.g. snapsticks), the less chance that mould will grow without refrigeration.

IMPORTANT: DO NOT STORE IN PLASTIC, UNLESS FREEZING

      • FREEZE IN PLASTIC (Recommended):
Lasts several months. Locks in any moisture. Stops any fat from oxidizing. Keeps the product tasting as fresh as possible.

      • FRIDGE (in an open container):
Lasts several weeks, but will become more dry.

      • OUTSIDE OF THE FRIDGE:
Uncertain whether it will grow mould or not: Store in a paper bag in a ventilated area.

Having said all that, in many cases it's OK outside the fridge or in a paper bag in your pantry or on your desk,
or if you go camping or biking or hiking it might still be good for weeks, but your results may vary.

  • BBQ Wagyu is the best flavour yet. I've consumed wayyyyy too much already.
