  • Thanks, just what I need. If replacing an old Logitech wireless mouse, would it be the same as the existing software?

    • +25

      Yeah buy now research later

    • +1

Should still function normally, but update software to maximise software.

      • buff software pls

  • +2

Requires Logitech SetPoint software(Windows) or Logitech Control Centre software(Mac OS X), available for download at www.logitech.com/downloads.

    • +1

Can also use Logitech Options (https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/options)

      • +22

You also don't need to install anything to use it.

        • +1

Are you sure? I will be using on work laptop which will not allow any software install.

          • +3

@amsaini15: You won’t be able to customise the buttons, but all the basic functions will work: left and right click, scroll wheel, scroll wheel click for middle button, forwards and backwards with the side buttons.

          • +1

@amsaini15: Raise an IT request and get it installed?

            • +3

@Supercool: Raising an IT request to install software in some places first requires that you raise an IT request to have it repackaged by the appropriate group in IT, justify your reason for wanting it, wait weeks if you can convince them, then and only then have it installed.

Your response is basically "Let them eat cake" for IT requests.

  • Thanks Op ordered one as replacement for my worn out tool.

    • +12

Are you certain a wireless mouse is good for that? Just askin'…

  • +2

Thanks OP! Absolutely love this mouse, great control!

  • +1

    Bargain. Thanks.

  • +5

Thanks op grabbed one. Not sure why, maybe a back up when my current mouse runs out of batteries and I'm out of batteries…

  • +11

An spare Unifying Receiver costs about $11 JB/eBay, so $4 for the mouse is a good deal.

    • Less on eBay.

      • +9

Those $2.75 listings are using el-cheapo BT adapters to bump up the search ranking. The URs are $9.89 + $1.60 shipping.

    • JB doesn't do click and collect and makes you pay $5 shipping, so you're really getting the mouse for -$1.20

  • Great deal no good for fps gaming though input lag/stutter

    • This uses the unifying adaptor, not that Bluetooth crap.

      • Yes i got this with the keyboard mouse combo fps gaming is useless unfortunately doesn't matter how close the mouse is usb 2.0 3.0 3.1 ect.

        • Thankfully for myself my experience in FPS has been positive. Have 2 of these, can use the mouse 20 meters away..:)

          • @SpamMeNotInOz: Did you install any third party software or drivers?

            • @Stahh: One one PC nothing not even the Logitech software.
on the other I have the Logitech software and tons of third party software and drivers.

              So perhaps just lucky

  • +16

Nice find thanks mate. Don’t need one but got one anyway because that’s what we do here..

    • u deserve a badge from OZB

  • +12

Don't wanna give Gerry any of my money and officeworks doesn't stock this.

    First world problems

    • +1

See below. Its a HN exclusice. As they are the only ones still selling this mouse. It was first released 2010. Making it almost 10 years old. Although there may have been later revisions released from what I can tell.

  • Great price, sure to get Ozbargained. Thanks

  • Got one thanks OP. Great find and price.

  • Thanks got one :)

  • +1

Great looking mouse. Its a hn exclusive, and synnex must have heaps of stock, left over from christmas. If only it was bluetooth.

    • +1

      If only it was…

But then it wouldn't be this price.

    • -1

If its not Bluetooth what is it?

      • +1

RF with an USB dongle (Unifying receiver)

    • +1

I have a dual Logitech RF and BT mouse. The RF option was way smoother than BT.

  • +1

This one comes with unify receiver? If so it’s a great deal!!

I got at least 3 noises missing USB receiver

They will back to life with the unify receiver

    • +5

      I hope you have earplugs?

      • Lol typo using the mobile keyboard
        I mean 3 mouse

        • I mean 3 mouse

          3 mice that it.

  • Thanks OP. Got one :)

I have been using a cheap Laser wired mouse from Big W for ages now. About time i upgraded!

  • Is it bigger than the 185 or 238?

    • M510 is larger and heavier than m238

      • +1

Thanks. Is it a con? or pro?

        • +5

Its a cro or maybe some might say its a pron

  • Don't need but bought 2 anyway…

    Thanks OP!

  • Don’t need but bought 3 anyway….

    Thanks OP.

    • If you didn't need it, why buy three? One as a backup I would understand, but buying three seems like FOMO.

      • +1

        Christmas presents sorted

      • Friends and family? I am sure for $15, it can be a great gift to school kids too.

  • +1

I bought but it's under review

  • I went to buy it, put in my credit card details and checked out but the page crashed. I refreshed and it said there was nothing in my cart and the money was taken out of my bank account but I haven't received confirmation or anything yet. Is this normal?

    • In banking, money doesn't get lost i.e. it has to sit on one of the two sides. If they didn't receive the order for any reason, you will get your money back automatically in a couple of days. So, there's no risk of losing money as such but unfortunately there's a risk that they may not have received the order which is important in this case.

  • +1

Also bought 2…hope they work with the chromebooks i purchased from JB.

    • Hi, May I ask which Chromebook you have please? Are you happy with it & any limitations opposed to a Windows based laptop? Trying to avoid Windows 10. Thank you

      • +1

Think he's talking about HP $239 JB deal plus $100 gift card. Using it now. One limitation is you can only download apps from Google Play Store but there are less apps? than an android phone can access from Google Play Store eg there's no 9Now or 10 (channel 9, 10) app. Can't understand why. Also no Mozilla Thunderbird so you can't have your multiple email addresses and would have to use something else. Screen is full HD and not bad. Keyboard is OK. 32GB memory, 4GB ram. For simple usage seems OK so far.

        • Thanks for the reply abacus 👍

          • +1

@stephd: It's a non touch screen tablet with keyboard. Personally I wouldn't pay $300 rrp for it, but would buy a proper laptop for another $100 if possible. Good luck

          • @stephd: Partly what abacus said. Yes it’s that laptop and I think u can mod it to kinda do what u want although u might have to do some digging and it’s either getting steam or has the ability already. Like you can play league of legends with Linux on it if you tweak it. It’s also a faster os in a sense it doesn’t load a lot of crap windows does. Very smooth which makes the battery life last a lot longer. I only use it for a work laptop for notes but then again I got a low end model.

    • They work fine with Chromebook. You be surprised how many USB item work OOB. I plugged in a Dell USB3.0 docking station and dual monities, LAN, speaker, mic all worked perfectly

  • Bought :)

  • +2

It's taking every bit of effort to overcome my OzBargain spirit of buying this even though I have absolutely no use for it. help

    • Just buy it. What’s the worse that can happen? You probably spend $5 on a cuppa without thinking twice. $15 is a bargain.

      • +3

Not a bargain if you don't need it at all and it will gather dust
        A cuppa will be drunk.

  • +1

HN also have the Logitech MK220 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo for $19 (40% off)

    Any reviews / experience ?

    • +13

      Logitech MK220 $16 JB HiFi

      • Thanks I picked one of these up from JB today 👍

    • Got two of these for refurbish comps I use for media centres attached to the TVs in the house. Have been really happy with them so far.

    • -1

Used at work. Does the job.

Note the mouse has no rubber grips for hand, mainly hard plastic build.

And KB is slightly smaller size than standard.

    • +3

It's a trusty keyboard and mouse.

I have been using this keyboard and mouse for many years, 6 years. I bought it for about $20-$25 at Woolworths. At that time I really wanted a minimal keyboard, because I was fed up with unnecessary space / ugly bulkiness on most stock keyboards, after looking up those thin metallic Apple keyboards, and Rapoo keyboards. It's very handy. It doesn't take up much space and looks professional, tidy on a desk. It is easy to move around to make room. The keyboard is compact but still has all the standard buttons. It might be a bit smaller width than a conventional keyboard, but I completely forgot.

I don't do gaming, but I do a lot of typing. Though I've tried, I can't really be convinced to get a mechanical keyboard (current keys don't seem squishy or annoying enough to me) or a gaming mouse (I've had no issues with mouse resolution or timing). I've had no issues with the wireless reception, works from several rooms away.

      Only issues:
Mouse middle-button stopped working after a few years, have to squash it down and to the side, which is annoying when I have to use it. For some reason the mouse-wheel spool/axle doesn't push down far enough onto the internal button that is underneath it, or the spool is off-centre to the button.
On keyboard, when typing I press "End"/"Home" a lot to move the cursor to end/start of a line, and often accidentally press "Pg Up", which scrolls everything up, so I have to stop what I'm doing and find and press "Pg Dn".
If you use the arrow keys a lot, they could be a bit close together, to have your hand cramped in that one spot for a long time. The "up" arrow is slightly raised, so there's no issue with pressing the intended key. If the software supports it, you can just use the WASD keys.
The wireless dongle is not a compact version, so it pokes out a bit. This might be an issue with you.
Mouse battery-compartment door is becoming very smooth to take off, as if the latch is getting worn.

I have taken the mouse and keyboard apart a few times and washed them. The mouse wheel is hard plastic with grooves. It can be cleaned with a brush, easier after taking apart the mouse. Since there's no rubber on anything, after cleaning it, it looks as if it were new.
2 x AAA batteries on keyboard last about a year or more, and 2 x AA batteries on mouse last 6 months or so. (I've started sticking a label onto the battery with the date I installed the batteries, to try to check this. :) )

  • Bought one. Hopefully it's true to its review on this page.

  • +2

Price is cheap for this mouse they wholesale around $13

    • +1

      $2 profit. Noice.

  • If only it was a mouse + keyboard combo

    • +11

Yea IF only this was also a full PC…

      • /laughs in techfast

    • +1

See above post(s). KB+M combos for under $20

  • Thanks OP, not sure how good or if it's super cheap but the discount looked so good so yeah got 1 :)

  • +1

At first glance I thought this was only a 5 button mouse, but Logitech's webpage says 7 buttons, so it must have left and right tilt of the wheel. Great mouse for the price if so…

    • +1

Yeah it does have left and right tilt.

  • +1

Have been a user of M235 bought from this deal. It's been almost a year and couldn't be happier. I am sure this mouse (M510) will be much better for almost a similar price.

To be fair it often retails at around $28 only though, so I wouldn't go by $68 price. There are a couple of deals posted for $28 and it didn't get too many votes even then so it's clearly not worth $68 anyway. Having said that, definitely a great purchase for $15. Good mice generally go for at least 2-3 yrs if not more, so it's totally worth $15 - great for using it at work too if the office mouse isn't as good (or if you prefer your own mouse for other reasons such as hygiene).

  • cheers bought 2 :D

  • Out of Stock Fyshwick ACT but ordered for pick up when they get more

    • Thought u can’t if it’s out of stock o.O

    • +1

Also $15 at Domayne, and their Fyshwick store has stock.

  • +1

HN sucks in SA, only store near me is CBD. Basically got to pay for parking, next is 30 minutes away.

$15, but would have to spend an hour driving to collect it.

    • Then you can try and get an online store to price match, or even Officeworks price beat.

  • Got 2. Thank you

  • Ordered 3. Thanks OP!

  • is this good for gaming?

    • You have traditionalists who say that reaction time of a wired keyboard can't be beaten. Laser Mice are pretty quick so unless you are hardcore you won't notice much difference.

      • thanks, not a hardcore gamer, but still plays battlefield 4 from time to time.

    • Yes, if you casually play games from time to time. If you game every day and need the extra accuracy then get a gaming mouse. Because this is a wireless non-gaming mouse I'd expect latency in the range of 8-10ms.

    • Doesnt work for me for gaming stutters and lags. 30 cm from the receiver its like night and day with my wired gaming mouse. For a casual lounge gamer maybe.

  • Came at the right time - bought one at K Mart for $8 last week - never worked - had to get a refund

  • +1

Using the "sort" button to list the items from low to high price doesn't work very well on the HN site. It shows this one as the cheapest but when you scroll down the list you'll see cheaper and other items that are in the wrong place too.
