Porting: Boost To <Other Telco> Back To Boost

Hey Guys :)

I am already on a Boost 12 month pre-paid plan due to expire soon.
I've purchased another 12 month deal (new prepaid sim pack with credit - not a recharge).

Who is the best / quickest carrier to port out to?
Then planning to port back into Boost (as quickly as possible) using the new 12 month sim pre-paid pack.

Based on some research here on OZB and Whirlpool, there are mentions of the Optus $2 sim. Open to suggestions.
I'm aware I most likely have to sit on the Optus sim for a couple of days for systems to update.
Seems if I try to port out and port back in on the same day, I could end up on the porting hamster wheel.

Anyone performed the same port out / port in process with Boost before successfully?

Any tips are appreciated. Stay safe :-)

711 has $30 optus start pack for $10 in the app atm….. So might be a better option if you plan to stay on it for a few days and need calls/data

711 also has 50% off the $40 or $50 starter packs for voda.

    Any tips are appreciated

Being 'easter' and all, Port to $10 Optus start park above, wait 5 business days and then port back.

    • Thanks so much, didn't realise there was this deal with the 7/11 app.
      Appreciate your help :)

I have done this last month and did the port-out to Optus and port-in to Boost on the same day in the space of 1 hour. But this was in pre-lockdown days, so you should keep some buffer in case something goes awry and you need to call the help center.

    • Awesome! Did you use a $2 Optus prepaid sim?

I used a Coles $2 prepaid sim (which runs on Optus), which doesn't require a recharge to be activated.
