    Price ?

      Sorry, updated

  • +3

Barely water resistant at 3 ATM :
30m, 3 atm = Splash resistant. Ok for rain, hand washing, other occasional contact with water. 50m, 5 atm = Suitable for swimming, fishing, other outdoor activities. 100m, 10 atm = Suitable for snorkeling and other prolonged contact with water, but not for scuba

    • I swim in mine all the time and shower with it on daily, still going strong after 12+ months…but I am trying to kill it and claim the Gen 5 as a replacement under warranty. Might need to leave it in the sink for a few days.

  • Ordered one. Thanks op

  • Can you answer and make calls from this watch please?

    • +4

Not exactly. You can answer calls but it doesn't have a speaker, only a microphone. So you can't have conversations through it.

      • Thanks for the info

  • SD2100 SoC.

  • Can you replace its band with a leather band?

    • asking because its metal strap looks different

    • +1

Yes you can do easily, just buy it from ali or ebay.

    • +1

Yep. Standard 22mm band with quick release pins.

    • +1

Yes you can. Ideally you'd also have a leather strap with quick release spring bars as well so that you don't need any tools to swap it out.

Reviews on fossils website is the back plate seems to come unstuck? Seems to be quite common in the reviews

    https://www.fossil.com/en-au/products/gen-4-smartwatch-explo...

    • +1

Yup happened to me after only a few weeks. Very common. Fossil are good with warranty but honestly not with3 the hassle. Returned and went with a Samsung watch, it's bulletproof.

    • +2

Watch looks the goods. Glad i checked the reviews, never seen so many negative reviews on a watch at this price point. Not buying now.

    • Yeah I loved this watch, was really really good but had to return it because the back (where the charging coil rings are) came off. So it is onviously a design flaw.

  • +2

Almost bought one, changed my mind after I saw the reviews

  • +1

Picked this up for US$100 while in the US. Went from the Gear S3 to this. Absolutely love it. My only real issue is that it's really easy to accidentally trigger the Google voice command (it's the largest button and a bent wrist will trigger it)

  • +1

It says you get 20$ off if subscribe but its not working

    • Yeah not working for me either, assume cause it already shows as being discounted in cart :(

    • $20 off only for full price products.

  • This or Galaxy Active 2?

Forgetting about price difference for a second and just comparing features.

    • +2

Personally I'd take this for style and Google voice control, Galaxy Active 2 for sports tracking.

      • +1

have come to realise battery is awful on this. But $159 and additional student discount makes it a steal compared to the Active 2

        • Unidays code did not work for me…

          • -4

@JaeTee: Didnt work for me either. I thought it would, hence my previous comment.

  • No longer available

  • Was tempted until I saw the reviews of the gen 4…

    Pass for me.

  • OOS

  • Xiaomi need to hurry up release their mi watch globally :/

  • I found a Woman style that appears similar to the male one… not sure about the bling though.

    https://www.theiconic.com.au/q-venture-rose-gold-tone-smartw...

    • I think it is Gen 3

      • The rose gold watch arrived today and it's a Gen 4. Only down side is that i have no idea on adjusting the strap

        • Did you get it sorted out? I took 2 links out of my black one yesterday - it's a bit daunting if you haven't done it before but isn't too tricky.

If you look in the 'inside' of the bracelet (the part that touches your wrist) there will.be some arrows pointing out to the pins between linkages. If you have an appropriate tool you can tap these pins through to release them. One of my precision screwdriver sets had a round tip that works great for this.

There is also a minor adjustment you can do where the clasp joins the bracelet to get it a little tighter (3 sets of holes to choose from).

Keep the removed links in case you need them in the future.

Have a look on YouTube for videos - eg https://youtu.be/8uxpDXKOPqA

Otherwise, if you can find a jeweller that's open, I'm sure they'd do it for you.

  • I was deciding between Gen 4 or Gen 5, but i bought this as i would only use it for Google Pay and Notifications, not a big fan of Google Assistant etc.
    $159 What a bargain !

    • does the gen4 not have google assistant?

    • Gen4 has google assistant too. It just doesn't have a speaker so it can't give you verbal responses.

    • Personally would have gone with the Gen 5.
The lag in the Gen 4 really bugs me.

  • I think its all gone
