Solid 24" computer screen for $200

G'day OZB

So I'm working from home and the laptop is great but I need more real estate. Can anyone recommend a decent 24" screen for around the $200 mark ? The officeworks across the road has a few models:

Lenovo 23.6" FHD LCD Monitor D24-10 $179.00
Acer Nitro 23.8" Gaming Monitor QG241Y $178.00
Lenovo 23.8" Full HD Monitor L24e-20 $169.00
Acer 23.8" Full HD IPS Monitor KA242Y $158.00
Philips 24" LCD Monitor 243V7QDSB_79 $187.00
HP 23.8" Monitor 24y $198.00
Samsung 24" curved LCD LC24F390FHEXXY $n/a

I was going to check out DFO South Wharf too.

Cheers
Joshy

  • JB Hi-Fi at South Wharf's closed

    • Killing me here. How about the H/N outlet in Richmond ?

      • Sorry, no idea. I'm a Sydneysider who follows JB Hi-Fi on Facebook, which is why I know. I guess you'll have to try call them tomorrow to see if they're open, or see if Google may know

  • Dell 2415 refurb, can get around ~200-250 mark.

  • You really can't go that wrong for office use. Think about if you want an adjustable stand or USB hub.

Did you actually put in your postcode and check if you can order all/any of those? I can see all those screens and more when I search for 24" monitors, but as soon as I select a store it says unavailable online and no stores near me have any stock.

I am basically just looking for 24" 1080p that is in stock anywhere for under $200, and without much luck at the moment.

    • My experience too.

    • I was going to buy a display model if i can't find anything else

  • Can't go wrong with an IPS display. Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you need a TN for response time, you won't even notice the difference in response time. But you instantly tell the difference between IPS and TN, even VA doesn't look as good as IPS. HDR arguably can look even better but you won't get HDR or zoned backlighting at this price.

Save a bit by going to CPL West Melbourne or price matching. OW has terrible HW prices.

    • Hero. CPL had a few 24"s lying around. Thanks mate

      • Do you mind mentioning the price range for 24"s as I am also looking for one. I tried calling them thrice, but no one picked the phone. Don't want to drive 50km atm…

Keep calling. I got through and they put one aside for me.

Got a Philips 243v7qdab for $209. HDMI cable was another $6.

So far so good, screen has decent reviews.

Speakers are useless; but image is crisp and Macbook's night mode works seamlessly on it.

          • @the fig man: Thanks, I am also looking for my MBP and your inputs sound good. Does this have adjustable height, looked around google and seems like it doesn't?

@bargain crazy: No. May need to buy a monitor step or something for it. My setup was already the right height.
