50% off + Free Upgrade To Selected Leathers @ King Furniture

1890

First time posting in years so please be gentle…

Noticed King Furniture was having a 50% off sale which they have on a semi-regular basis but I’m not sure if they usually include the free leather upgrade.
Seemed like a good deal compared to other sofas of comparable quality.

Edit: includes free fabric protection if you dont want leather (Thanks chillybags)

Edit 2: I asked their online chat, they said it's the first time they've done free upgrade to leather.

Edit 3: They also have sale on their other configurations, but you'll have to call them or go on online chat

  • 🤩🤩 I was on their site last week, leather upgrade is usually 1.5k + from memory, nice find OP! I dont know much about couches, but these are the best, not to sure about the particular styles that are on sale though :P

  • FYI Couches are made in China.

When they have 50% off regularly, does that make the "discounted price" the regular price?

  • +1

Its a good sale if you are after a leather couch. However, the best prices to be had are still showroom stock, its like buying a demo car, usually fully loaded and much better than the ongoing discount.

  • So this is a better quality than Freedom or Plush I am assuming? Even on their standard leather, top grain corrected?

Have been looking for new leather furniture for a while and thinking this might be the one to pull the trigger on. A two and three seater Delta III in Viva leather for $3,779 seems a good deal right? Or is it just another 'on sale' event where they start by doubling the price.

  • Which free leather is the best?

    • +1

I choose VIVA leather as they are nearly double the thickness compare to the other 2 types of leather that are for free upgrade.

    • +1

I think casalina looked the nicest - it was soft and fairly scratch resistant too

    • We went to store and ordered Viva leather followed sales person’s advice. She said all 3 free leather their cost is identical if no free upgrade. viva is more practical due to double thickness

Lookwise I didn’t notice any particular leather looks superior than the other, including top touch

      • Delivery charge $150

        • You can choose express delivery for $99 if you don't mind to their away the wrapping and put the legs yourself

  • Great deal for free leather upgrade. If you go in-store, there are much more leather options than the ones they have on the website currently. Ordered on the weekend and at the moment expected delivery date is late June.

  • I was always told King Furniture may have some nice items but are extremely pricey / overpriced and out of my price range. Are they actually really good / worth the money? I never went to their stores when i was buying as everyone told to not bother, that They were for the rich. A couple of friends of mine did buy theirs from there but their income is more than 20x mine. The stuff they bought seemed pricey to me, one got a 2 seater couch for $10k?

Just called King Furniture - this sale ends 4 May 2020 for all those wondering

    • Haha …ends

I've been looking out for a couch from King living for a while, i'll like to say that this is a good deal only if you want leather. the 50% off sale is on literally every other week.

You're a chump if you buy it for anything less than 50% off

  • Have been tossing about whether to get the King Cloud III 2.5 Seater RW Smart for a while now, indeed it does seem cheaper at the moment with the NU-Buck or Viva leather upgrades.

I'd love to hear from anyone's personal experience with the couch inc. accessory charge table. I've also got a cat which makes me wonder if I'm asking for trouble (Viva is apparently 'double thick' leather so I'm hoping it'd be better for it.. I'm damned eithr way)

    • Our leather couches have scratch marks but we haven’t had any tears from the cats. We don’t molly coddle our couches, they are day to day furniture.

    • I got the king cloud III 2.5 seater 3 years ago still looks like new. I like to lie on the lounge so didn’t get the charging table. I got the side table (swivels) and led light 50% off instead. I don’t regret it but knows it’s pricey even with 40% discount at the time.

      • I'm looking at having no divider in middle, side tables (with charging).. what material, colour did you end up deciding? curious!

Also thanks for the comments on cats @try2bhelpful — I have the same attitude. My current couch is leather and was more worn from human use than the cat. I am wondering whether to go NU-Touch 'nubuck' or the Viva 'double thick' leather..

        • I would, probably, go Viva, but try to get to a store and feel a sample to see what you think. These aren’t cheap to purchase so it is worth making sure it is what you want. our cats have lots of scratching posts so the scratches are where they have used the couch as a way to push off when running around the house Or sliding off the top whilst walking along. We don’t keep the cats off the furniture and a folded mink blanket makes a nice bed for them on the couches.

        • I went instore today and felt both of them. The Viva is more textured and hard wearing whereas the Nu-Touch is a thinner matt/suede feel which looks like it would stretch more

    • I have the King Cloud I and still going extremely strong (8 years old). The price with leather at the moment is damn cheap seriously. I bought 8 years ago and is still on par with this sale. They never done free upgrade to leather before

    • We went to the store today in camperdown. Looking at the king cloud 3, smart 3 seater (700w x3) with wide arms.

I forgot to ask about the accessories pricing, the guy said 50% off accessesories too

Does anyone have a price list for the king cloud III ?

We are thinking about 2x charging tables and possibly 2x sonos mounts

How does this cheap looking chair with 3 metal bare legs cost $1k sale price?

    • Designed by Charles Wilson. THE Charles Wilson! You're just asking to be struck down by lightning.

  • Expected delivery time for sofas is about 4 months.

    • because it'as made in china

      • Is it really?

        • Yes it is but doesn't mean it's any less quality. If you're after a non-Chinese made couch you're free to spend ~$10k+.

  • No experience with King furniture, however from what I'm hearing here they're a respectable supplier with good quality furniture?

I'm considering purchasing the "King Boulevard" (I suspect a newer couch) any experiences?

  • Viva or Casalina??

    • Viva if you want a bumpier, more textile leather pattern, while Casalina is more flatter/smoother.

Real question is Casalina or "Nu Touch"? Those felt pretty much identical.

We've had a Jasper for about 10 years now. Bought it in Viva Creme and checked the price and we paid $6k for the two sofa combination. From what I can see, its almost 2k cheaper than what we paid. Also didn't have the sofa storage option back then and would definitely have gone for that as well. We've had no issues with the light viva leather and its held up well with 2 young kids (they've only drawing on the sofa once, and we managed to clean it off). We've also rearranged it many times throughout its use. One issue we've had is the plastic sockets in the base where you slide the side walls into break off, which doesn't affect the use, but was a bit annoying.

    • Have you talked to tKing about replacement parts?

    • Have you had any issues with sagging of the back or seat cushions? Every time I see second hand Jaspers for sale the cushions sag badly making it look so worn and old. Not sure if this is specific to the feather filled cushions as opposed to memory foam only.

  • How much do they negotiate on these sale prices? I have a cat so am not interested in a leather upgrade.

    • Interested to know this too as don’t want leather. The free fabric protection probably costs them $20 to do. Interested in Delta III combo advertised sale price $2490

    • Not negotiable as far as I know. Whatever the price listed on the website is the price + shipping

    • My experience - they would rather not sell than knock $5 off their listed prices.

    • +2

Yeah, well we’ve had 7 cats in the time I’ve had my first King couch and I would recommend the leather rather than fabric. We drape our couches in sheets, in summer, and blankets in winter for everyday “protection and comfort” and cleaning “spillages” off leather is easier than off soaked into fabric/padding. Not sure if the fabric has been treated.

      • Every cat is different but we’ve never had one that’s even slightly interested in leather. Whereas they can really have fun scratching fabric!

Wanted to order swatches for Delta 3 before ordering. Hesitated on the casalina cognac and it's sold out now!

But spoke to online chat and found out you can actually get Nu Touch Leather free upgrade which isn't available online.

    • +1

We ordered delta 3 deluxe plus with casalina cognac yesterday. May be the last one.

      • Congrats! I picked up the swatch for malt and some nu touch browns but not feeling it. Local shop said to wait a few days and will try to honour the sale price but might be 6 month wait

  • +2

I went for a delta in fabric didn't like the look and feel of leather, wasn't able to negotiate, total was $3400 with the smart sides and the round side table

    • We did the same, chose fabric instead of leather. Leather did not look/feel as cosy and comfy for the rumpus room. Can’t wait to have it delivered.

      • We bought the leather, it still looks like new after 3 years. A friend bought the fabric one at the same time, the back cushions look really bad shape now.

        • I will learn my lesson if this happens to our sofa. 😆

  • Thinking of purchasing the Cloud 3 armchair as a reading chair/ cinema chair, which leather is better, VIVA or NU-touch?

    • i went instore today and the Viva is a thicker more textured leather whereas the Nu-touch is more a matt/suede leather and more expensive

    • Bought the king cloud 3 lounge today. 3 seater - 700mm x 3 with wide smart arms. Also picked up the sonos mounts as they were also 50% off

Viva truffle was the leather choice

      • Will be interested to hear your opinion when you receive it.

    • I'd get it in a heartbeat but I'm iffy about the fact the reclining mechanism is electronically controlled. I rather it be mechanically controlled so it can be more easier fixed if needed.

  • +1

We've had a Neo for 5 years now, excellent quality and as good as new like the day we bought it. Cusions still firm and no sag.

  • +2

leather pretty much all gone and some colours gone back to full price
now only listed as selected leather free

  • Went in store today and viewed the KING CLOUD 3, 2 seater 800mm, it was advertised at $3390 (on the store signage stating includes free leather upgrade and while stocks last) there was no leather available for that price. Although they did provide me a quote including the same leather for the $4740. The sales assist advised it is a new run of leather…hmmmm

    • UPDATE : Later that night I requested a quote from Online Chat which was $3390 and no mention that sale option was run out.

  • +1

Looking to pick up a couple of couches and a couple of those Seymour high back chairs tomorrow. Just finishing building a house and moving in end of the year. Anybody know if a discount on top of sale price is possible? I've added it up and will be well over 15k worth of stuff!

    • I would suggest to double check your quote with the online chat team as my quote instore was higher than the exact same quote from online chat. In store sales assistant had advised me that the sale leather option I had chosen was sold out although i could still order the same leather option at a higher price whereas the online chat sales assistant was more than happy to honour the sale price for my chosen option.

  • +1

    And…… leather deal is GONE

  • How long is this sale on for

    • +1

      long gone

  • quite a bummer, emailing them for custom quotes/configurations can take hours or WEEKS for a reply, depending on the agent. The later agents I got just dragged the finalising communications out for god knows what reason and then told me the promotion's over. certainly didn't seem to be very keen to seal the deal.

    • Same here. I went in store. Had to wait for about 1.5 hours in a queue to get in. Then they told me that the earliest that a leather couch will get delivered is September. They suggested that we get a fabric couch.

      • shame, the leather is pretty pretty much the only reason to go with them. Plush is also having a 50% off sale if you just want fabric. Has some more interesting combinations to me too.

    • They have limited stock….don't really care on customer service…and seems like they make money on such huge margins. Nothing creative for the price.
Looked elsewhere and was glad I did not fall into the trap of quality vs price.

      • what did you end up with? i'm still shopping around.

  • Their stuff is made in China now? How can they justify their riduclous prices now? Damn…I use to think their prices were acceptable cause they were made in Australia and the quality was pretty good. That said, the King Furniture Recliner I bought many years ago is the most uncomfortable piece of furniture in my house lol
