Just keep in mind 2 things (one as posted above)

Cashback is not available on solar electricity plans.

And the FIT (feedin Tariff) is much lower than that offered by AGL or Origin in NSW

So not worth it if you are a Solar generating customer.

So much for looking after the environment

Be cautious with these deals. It not clear say finish date. Last time I signed, later on been told deal expired. Only got 70 for electricity and 40 for gas.

Sorry to hear.. Please check with TA to sort that out for you.
Also, I believe it was my bad as I did not added expiry date on previous post but please do read the offer status on actual site after you visit as landing site will have 100% accurate information on deal expiry. I have added expiry in the post now

TA had been helping me, but sadly not success.

Here is the discussion which puts this in context. I’m unsure how Cashrewards can be held responsible. Every offer on Cashrewards has an expiry date, as BA pointed out. You went off information posted on OzB by a non-representative of the company, rather than the Cashrewards website which clearly showed the deal was no longer available, yet you made the decision to purchase anyway. As you’re aware, I did all I could to turn this around for you.

          • @tightarse: Thank you for your effort.

            • @Kevinlxjin: So you've negged this deal due to user error on a previous offer?

              • -7

@scatman00: That's sad feeling, when you expect $200, and get about half. And been point it your own fault.
This type deal not show the price you get or pay straight forward.(main reason)
When I click the deal, it not showing expired. When I get cashrewards website it shows $110 total cashback, same amount $110 for electricity.
I agree, I did not carefully read every word there. Like some license agreement, term and condition, I just not read it at all.

Just tell everyone be more careful than me.

@Kevinlxjin: Just to further clarify. Here and here are screenshots of the current promotion as advertised on Cashrewards, both clearly showing expiry dates. When you clicked through from OzB after the previous deal had expired, you would have been presented with the BAU version of this page (currently showing the increased rates). When you clicked & purchased on March 8 (the day after expiry), the page was showing $110, $70, and $40. Thanks.

  • @Being Askhole @tightarse do you know if this would include signing up to a new plan when I’ve been with Energy Australia before, but am not with them currently?

Hi. Provided you’re not currently with EA, then you will be eligible for this upon signup :)

Cashback will only be paid on new EnergyAustralia accounts, which includes existing EnergyAustralia customers moving into new premises. Existing EnergyAustralia customers who switch to different EnergyAustralia plans/plan at the same premises will not be eligible for cashback.

FYI.. "EnergyAustralia (former name: TRUenergy) is an electricity generation, electricity and gas retailing private company in Australia that is owned by Hong Kong-based and listed CLP Group."

  • Hi, just wondering after I get the cashback can I switch to other provider or still have stay with EnergyAustralia?
    Cheers

    • +1

Cashback may take up to 180 days to be confirmed by EnergyAustralia.
So I think at least 6 months?

    • Yes - you switch to another energy provider anytime but if you want the cashback, wait until after it’s been paid to you by EnergyAustralia

  • Thanks for the information. But if I used to with EnergyAustralia is it still eligible?

    • Please see here.

  • Just a suggestion for Cashrewards, before they receive the confirmation from the shop, they can actually advise the customer “the application has been received and waiting for store confirmation.” It’s 2020 I believe it’s not a difficult thing and every customer will appreciate it…

    • Until now I have not received any confirmation from cashrewards and can not track the deal in my cashrewards app. However I do have received some mails from EnergyAustralia.

Could anyone gives me a service email address ‘cos I haven’t found any “send an enquirer” button in the iPad app…

      • Same for me, but rectified now: email [email protected] with Energy Plan Confirmation :)

          Truly appreciated!

  • Hong Kong owned, not really Energy 'Australia….plus they only reward new customers, so what about loyal existing customers?

  • Signed up for the gas deal. Did the math and seems competitive to my existing rates after cashback. Without the cashback, Energy Australia's rates are definitely on the higher end though.

@tightarse, I presume no switching until the cashback hits my account/approved? Also, when does the 180 day countdown start? After signing up or getting the welcome pack?
