    This is the usual price.

    • How accurate is it? I need one for my bike.

      • +4

Bicycle? Doesn't look right - many bicycle parts require torque at 5Nm and this apparently doesn't go below 30.

        • +1

Maybe he means motorbike. Mine has a single side swingarm that needs around 200nm torque so this could be quiet useful.

          • +1

@mrbearski: Hmmm I'm pretty sure 200nM is equivalent to - "tighten the $hit out of it"!

            • @hoxygt: If its italian then 5nm not enough and it comes loose, 5nm too much and you strip the thread or cause 2000$ worth of damage and wait 6 months for new parts!

            • +3

@hoxygt: If working at a large chain oil and lube center has taught me anything, 200nm is setting 3 on the rattle gun at 100-120psi air pressure.

            • +1

@hoxygt: Agreed. If you strip a thread at 200nm without mechanical assistance you are a tough SOB.

        • If you did mean bicycle a 1/2" drive is a bit crazy. Try for a 1/4 drive.

          • +1

@hoxygt: Depends if you're in the habit of doing stuff with cranks/bottom brackets or not. Outside of this area then yes, most torque specs on a bike are <10Nm.
The torque spec for Shimano Hollowtech II bottom brackets are 35-50Nm and the TL-FC34/TL-FC33 tools are 1/2" drivers.
Likewise SRAM GXP external bottom brackets are similar (34-41Nm), as is the bolt that holds the left arm onto the spindle (48-51Nm using an 8mm hex key no less, it's not a well designed system).

            • @serrin: Just note that Bottom Brackets tighten two different directions and not all torque wrenches measure both directions.

              • @Coley: True, most threaded bottom brackets are British and left hand thread on the right. Should get torque wrenches that work on both direction for bikes whether it's a 1/2" driver (bottom brackets) or small one (1/4" or hex driver - pedals).

    • Price has gone up now.

  • +1

I purchased this a few months ago for the exact same price. Didn't realise it was a sale.

It's an ok tool, as long as you don't need immense accuracy it will do you fine. I bought it cause my roof rack needing a particular torque specification for the mount.

    • +1

They're so easy to calibrate yourself. Unless you need more than 5% accuracy, buy one of these and check it before you use it.

ALWAYS store them with the spring unloaded. Once a year pull it apart and clean the threads of the handle and put a drop of light oil on it. It'll last forever.

  • at this price its equally good 1/2 ratchet.

    • Yeah but its Craftright - hello bloodied fingers!

    • It'll be pretty long to use as a normal ratchet.
If you want a cheap ratchet, get one of these or these

Let me guess Aldi has these next week.

umm no it still searches nationwide…

        • They mentioned in one of the Ozito/Aldi threads they were going to fix/update it in a couple of days. Guess that happened today then…

          • @whitelie: Oh, that means i can retire now :D

            • @NGPriest: Retire or made redundant? Might be eligible for job keeper….

  • Im thinking of buying from eBay by using price beat guarantee of eBay of 5%
