who ever has got approved, give UTAS a call, if busy you might have to leave your number.

but they will walk you though the whole process of accepting, submitting the HECS form, and selecting the first units.

  • +1

I'm part way through the second course Sustainable Literacy.

If anyone has any questions let me know.

    • Hey how do you access the courses? I've gone and finished enrollment and selected by courses but not sure how to access any assignments or course work?

      • Are you on mylo yet?

        • Nope.. had no idea that was even a thing. Anyway I'm on it now and there's nothing under my units :/

          • +1

@Perroquet: There was nothing under my units initially. I had to wait until the next day for it to load through.

Hopefully you have logged onto mylo.utas.edu.au

You will then see my units if you scroll down the page. There you can access all, or your semesters.

            Can you see that?

  • If you are having problems once you are accepted ring them and they will talk you through the process. The guy I spoke to was super helpfull 1300 363 864
The online portal can be quite confusing and things like back buttons dont work

  • Did any one complete and submit the eCAF form ? I wanted to find out which option to choose.
    Provided a TFN or choose " I do not want a HECS-HELP loan…"

    • +4

Do not put in any TFN and choose no HECS-HELP loan. You'll initially get an invoice with charges for each unit you enrol it, but after a few days it zeroes out if you're eligible.

      • wooooooooops

      • Thanks.

  • I completed the hecs form however its still saying incomplete. Do I also need to do a SA form?

    • You need to do the Commonwealth assistance form.

  • Gee UTAS' website is a bit of a dogs breakfast trying to get enrolled.

    • I had to do over the phone, they then sent me a form to scan in.

  • I'm having trouble completing the SA-HELP form to waive the SSAF fee- seems like only applicable to citizens and not PR? Can anyone confirm?

    • Hmm that's possible. I'd ring directly and ask.

    • Hi, Do you need to provide TFN for SA-HELP? because I chose no TFN for HELP, should I give them TFN for SA-HELP?

      • +1

I'm fairly sure I didn't give them one because I won't need to pay.

  • So SSAF is only waived for the first 4 units?

"You are correct, there is a 100% Fee scholarship and SSAF is waived for the first 4 units of this course. The SA-Help form you submitted will take effect for the remaining 4 units.
A requirement for all students receiving a HECS Scholarship in this course is compulsory completion of the eCAF. The eCAF (electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form) is a government form that is available online through eStudent. Completing the form is a requirement for all students, and instructions and support to complete the eCAF form is included in your enrolment process."

    • The diploma is entirely free presuming you finish by the end of 2021.

      • Yes the units are, but the SSAF is not. I feel like many don't know this. That is directly from UTAS.

        • Well that doesn't mesh with the information given on the page and in the description above:

The Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF), $46.20 per unit in 2020, is waived for units studied under the Diploma of Sustainable Living for students that commence after 16 June 2020 as part of this scholarship. Combined with the 100% HECS scholarship, this means that the entire cost of the Diploma can be covered by a scholarship.

          • @blamesociety: "2020"
Next year is 2021, and I am lead to believe SSAF won't be covered in 2021.
But if anyone knows more please chime in, I hope what I have been told is wrong.

            • @Gojkins: The Diploma of Sustainable living course page mentions this (near the bottom)

Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)
For eligible students, the Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF) is waived for units that commence after 16 June 2020 and have a census date prior to 31 December 2021 when studied under the Diploma of Sustainable Living.

As the long as the units you enrol in have a census date prior to 31 Dec 21 it should be free.

            • @Gojkins: The 2020 is just referring to the current price.

              • @blamesociety: This is good to read! It seems like the UTAS support person might be mistaken.

  • Did anyone else need to pay about $100 for admin fees?

    • That's what others are saying above I think, but I don't think it would be correct because it is meant to be completely fee free…?

      • I thought it was supposed to be free too but they (U of Tas) told me I had to pay for the admin fees. Now I'm really confused. Did you need to pay for yours?

        • I checked my Fees in the eStudent

          Log into eStudent
Go to "Fees" section near top middle of screen
Go to "Transactions / Generate Invoice" on the left hand side

From there you can see if you have any fees listed below - you can also "generate a tax invoice/statement for the last 14 days"

I've got no fees listed under each of the sections and when I generate a tax invoice, there are no fees as well

  • +2

    I just withdrew.

I really wanted to do the course, but I found their website and enrollment method and timetabling awful, everything was a struggle to get done and work out and after spending many hours to try to work out the timetable and how to sign up.

I couldn't have made it harder if I tried.

It was super confusing - this is from someone who has studied before as well.

    • I agree, it is confusing. Other people had trouble too and they rang uni and their enrolment was done over the phone for them.

  • How do you actually apply, so you click the link, scroll down click how to apply, click undergraduate, click apply now, make account, click scholarship applications, click apply for scholarships, click online application for scholarships, click apply, and fill in all detail?

I have finished but it doesnt feel right can someone confirm that's what they did to apply please?
