My Cashrewards Account Has Been Hacked [SOLVED]

Still can't believe this is happenging to myself, but my cashrewards account has been hacked yesterday.
I first got several emails saying new payment method has been added/removed to my Cashrewards account. I log in and changed my password. But still I received an email saying all money has been transferred to other bank accounts.

I have 2-way authentification, but still the money is gone without sending me SMS code.

Have this happened to anybody else before???

    So instead of immediately contacting Cashrewards for their assistance the first thing you do is sign up to Ozbargain?

    For those who said that I should contact Cashrewards:
    Of course I have contacted Cashrewards right after being hacked, but only got a "reply": will get back to you within two business days…

    I just wanted to know if this has happened to someone before…
    And also want to warn people that this can happen. Obviously Cashwards is not 100% safe.

    If you don't need this type of warning, that's fine.

      Curious how they get your details if you have 2FA turned on. They've got your phone too then?

      • I am sure that it's turned on. I can see my mobile number there.
        My friend just tried to transfer the money with 2FA turned on. Cashrewards did not send any messages!!!

        And this is exactly why I want to warn everyone. Even with 2-way authentification, it's still not safe.

        I don't think the entire platform is hacked.
        My friend's account is fine.

        Maybe I just had bad luck.

            @John Kimble: My PW is a combination of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters.
            I have used the same password for another website. Maybe this is how the password is leaked.

            But I really don't know.

                    @John Kimble: Cashrewards team looked into my account and found that someone logged in and tried to transfer my balance to other bank accounts but failed. The money is back now.

                    They are doing more investigations.

                    The 2FA stopped the transfer.
                    The transfer was flagged and rejected by the system.

  • Think I'll change my CR PW, just to be on the safe side….rather not see this show up on HaveIbeenPWNED later on.

    • I like to lock things down with 20 characters or more, but if you get compromised with a man in the middle it doesn't matter how good your pwd strength is.
