    Mostly no size.

  • Looks like some nice stuff but unfortunately it's all hand wash. Not necessarily different than most merino but you do find machine washable stuff and it's more convenient.

    • Does not make much sense. The physical properties of the natural wool makes it unsuitable for machine washing. It will change the consistency/structure of the wool. You may find on some machines the "wool" cycle, but it is just bit more gentle. If you really care of your wool then:
      - do hand wash them
      - do not use hot water
      - do not machine dry them
      - do not hang them for drying - leave them flat to dry

      • Although that seems like the general advice, icebreaker info seems different for their clothing. It can be machine washed, with warm water and line dried. Who's correct?

        • I've been washing all my merino (mostly Icebreaker) shirts in the washing machine, not more than 20 times as I don't wear them often. All of them have a few holes now. Only a thick hoody is still fine. Edit: I used the wool cycle with wool wash.

          • @Marty-69: Did you wash them with any other items in the same load? Eg. The hoodie?

Did you use washing machine (bra) bags to protect the wool?

The only merino shirt I have with holes in it a pretty lower gsm/density shirt from Mountain Designs (which their support claimed was "moths" even though it's stored right next to all my other tastier merino). Everything else is hole-free.

            • @Lukian: Icebreaker has conflicting info when you call them. They've said in the past not to wash on the wool cycle and definitely not to use wool wash liquid. It can stop the clothes from breathing due to the softners used.

            • @Lukian: Shirts only, no zippers involved. I didn't use a bag, I'll try that next time.

  • Photoshopped colours on the models really makes shopping on this site easy (not).
I wonder how the colour accuracy is if they can't even take a real photo.

Can't use the new newsletter subscriber coupon (code "WELCOMEMERINO" is not valid) on this sale.

  • WELCOMEMERINO can only be used for non sales items only. Not much use.
