Deal was not honoured

Moved to forums for ongoing discussions.

Original price $399 (really overpriced). Looks like a price error to me. Catalogue says it's supposed to be $239 after discount. No active noise-cancelling. Click and collect without additional cost, delivery cost extra.

Call the police while standing in the store in front of the stock dude :) for investigation of the theft

      • Problem is, they won't just come to the store straight away. If at all.

    • +5

I think by 'stolen overnight', he means by the ozbargain community. :)

    • Fiction?

    • -7

Funny that. I went in to that store to pick up my order and their stock was actually stolen. Staff there were more than happy to send the order to another store (so obviously not lying). Clearly they didnt know about the price error. With my jb ordering experience their system doesnt account for stolen stock. Yeah its pretty flawed but accusing staff of "lying" is pretty low dont you think?

      • +5

Look you might be right. I just was a little sceptical when I've walked into a seemingly fully stocked store with other more expensive headphones (e.g. Bose QC 35 IIs) still in stock and am told that these items in particular were taken.

        • +3

Imagine stealing earphones that look like this, and have no noise cancelling 😂

    • Better keep an eye on Gumtree/Marketplace for some. You may get a bargain after all

  • usually theyre quick to advise items are ready for collection, this time no text yet. looks like theyre cancelling my purchase.

  • so did anyone manage to get click and collect? I've got an email saying ready for pick up

    • +1

…you should definitely go instore and collect your legitimate bonafide 100% bargain…

    • Go to the store now and let us know what happens!!

      • ill be heading there this afternoon. Some say they got rejected reading from this post

        • +1

Yeah, went into store. She said everyone is getting refunded.

          • @DryScissors: well looks like i wont head down to Taylor lakes and waste my time then

I bought a pair for click and collect from the Maroochydore store. Got an email and text saying item ready for collection. Went to the store and they refused to give me the headphones. Told them thankyou for wasting my time.

    • Really? That's where I bought mine for C&C…

      • They said that the online team would be in touch with me regarding refunds

        • +10

Thanks for the heads up. I called to confirm and they were so damn rude about it. Very poor customer service that they sent out the ready for collection messages, then refusing to hand over the product. Wouldn't have a problem with it if they didn't do that.

      • I think there's two Maroochydore stores?

  • Looks like they worked it out (or thanks to ol mate and his tip off) and pulled the item from their site

    • +3

but not from the 12974 click thrus directed from this site…. if everyone swarm like locusts on an OzBargain [Price Error] cleaning out their entire stock nationwide theyre gonna work it out pretty easily

  • Did anyone score?

  • Just got a call from Jb Hifi and yes it is a price error and informed that I will be contacted by their Resolution group on how to proceed in getting a refund.

    • Why does a resolution group need to contact you to proceed with getting a refund…they should issue refunds.

      • Got told to wait to be contacted either by email or phone within the day. I suppose I will wait for a while and see what happens.

Edit: Received this email and paste a part of it here.

'We can confirm that the UNDER ARMOUR/JBL - TRAIN ROCK EDITION was advertised for a short time on our website with a pricing error.
Subsequently we will not be honouring this order and have now issued a full refund.'

Oh well, no harm in trying. Already got quite a few pairs of cans anyway and really didn't need this one.

        • I think they mean "consequently". Obviously, it's subsequently.

  • Boooo….!!!

  • +6

This is a monthly price error proudly presented by JB Good Guys.

  • I guess, based on the couple of comments here, I shouldn’t bother going in store for my click & collect order.

Edit 10 minutes later, cancellation email received.

  • +7

Out comes all the entitled whingers!! We all knew this was probably a price error, we tried our luck and it didn't work, get over it people!

Yep price error and cancelled. Apparently jb values them so highly but I don't get it, you can get them from official jbl for $299 haha. Def not worth $400 from jb. Oh well. :3

  • +1

haha. If OP didn't post it, the initial orders might have got honoured.

    • There's always that one person…

  • refund coming …shame

  • Lucky I missed out right from the start!

  • I guess it will be cancelled. Does anyone have recommendation for alternatives in similar price range?

  • Bummer. Oh well I will still continue to take a chance on deals like this, never know if it'll end up being honoured like my Bunnings Drone!!!!

  • Rocking up with AUSDOM headset I got for $9 from Ebay Plus :)

  • These are the best deals - the thrill of getting a bargain combined with not actually spending any money (once you’re eventually refunded) 😂.

  • I got a 'confirmation' email. Can this email be trusted?

    • Not according to other comments. Also check for a cancellation email.

I might go in store in a few weeks and try collect, see what happens.

  • Refunded…

  • +1

    Thanks op. Ordered 10.

  • I haven't got the cancellation email yet, waiting for it. Their site is back and it's listed for $239 now.

    Lets see what happens

    • +1

Me neither. Probably just means we will get our money back even later than others.

      • Just got the cancellation haha

Just got my cancellation email, oh well, nice try.

  • +1

My order was cancelled. It was always a likely pricing error, but I was willing to give it a shot in case. The absolute gall of people getting angry at the retail workers because of something that always had a decent chance of being cancelled.

  • Cancelled.

  • +1

    Cancelled. Worth a try though!

  • +4

I like these deals. Thrill of scoring an absolute bargain on a product you dont need and then getting a refund. Win-win

    • …no they shouldnt ….and they wont because they dont want to encourage or reward your type of custom.
i mean basically according to their staff you were all engaging in 'theft' < - their words, not mine

  • +1

Just got a cancellation email due to incorrect pricing

  • +1

Just received an email, they are refunding all orders 😭 sad mode

  • Yup order xxld this side too 😒 Just that little bit too good to be true. Love how they say human error.. cos lots of similarity between 54 & 239! 🤣

  • Has anyone who got a click and collect confirmation and a cancellation email dared to still walk in and try to pick it up?

      7. CANCELLATION OF ORDERS
7.1 JB Hi-Fi reserves the right to cancel, at any time before delivery and for whatever reason, an Order that it has previously accepted. JB Hi-Fi may do this for example, but without limitation, where:

      c) Goods ordered were subject to an error on the Website, for example, in relation to a description, price or image, which was not discovered prior to the Order being accepted;

Isn't a Click and Collect confirmation classified as delivered?

  • -1

I ordered 2, even knowing that JB Hi-Fi do this all the time, not once have they honoured the price. One time it even made ACA, didn't help.

As much as I'd love to go feral on twitter about them, I can't be bothered wasting my time.

  • I got this email ::

  • -2

    Class Action maybe?
It’s not false or misleading advertising, they made a genuine mistake.
However we did have a contract under contract law and I believe at the point of notifying me of my order being ready for collection they fulfilled the final part of the contract acceptance.
Any lawyers wish to chime in?

    • +3

Get a life. :p lol made me smile

    • Chiming in.

Of course there was contract acceptance, that's why JB Hifi refers to terms such as 7.1(c).

  • +1

You all got lucky! Now none of you will have to wear these ridiculous looking monstrosities.

  • I wouldn't put something so ugly on my head anyway

  • Did you guys get refunded yet? Still not showing for me

    • Generally 5-7 days.

  • If you placed an order and have the confirmation from JBHIFI, you can submit a complaint to ACCC as retailers are not allowed to create misleading advertising and an urgency to rush customers to buy anything. It's against consumer law, regardless of the retailer's disclaimer.
    https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/complaints-problems/make-a…

    • ….funny. everyone else realised it was a price error…even the OP.

  • +1

wondering why if the order has been cancelled by JBhifi, why is it that they deducted the amount from my bank account?

    • are you new to price errors…? its pretty straight forward: order including transaction, error confirmed, cancelled, refund.
