Harba Buffet from Harvey Norman

Hi all,

We're looking at a buffet for our home, and stumbled across this one from HN while we went to pick up our free photo prints from the deal the other day lol.

Anyway, knowing how HN's prices suck, I tried to do a little digging online to see if i could find another store selling it and perhaps haggle with HN.

This brand seems to be a HN-exclusive brand.

I was hoping the brains at OzBargain could assist with finding me a bargain or letting me know how I can haggle with HN without a competitors price.

Their displayed price is $1,299.

P.S. I've never purchased anything from HN before.

    Just name a price without a competitors price. They'll tell you they can do it for $X which is their "cost price". You then buy it.

    Edit, just had a look at it, looks like IKEA besta with wood legs.

    This is manufactured for HN only.

    This is a very common in the home furniture industry.
    You would need to go into a store and see if you can get a better price, chances are given its an exclusive "in house" product that there will be quite a significant margin on it.

    The sales person will be working on getting his/her commission so chances are also that they will want to get as much out of that margin as he/she can.

    Be firm and be ready to buy and they should do a better price.

    As above. Just go to HN and haggle.
