  • anyone experienced these? reliable?

We have 2 of these in the house.
Had them for over a year now.
Very easy installation. We used a licensed electrician to install 2 PowerPoints in the toilet. He used power from the light switch, so very minimal labour involved.
We have the light and heated seat always on and it is a pleasure sitting on the throne in winter now.
In terms of functionality, there's 3 directional settings. Water temperature control (warm and cold), built in LED light and some "massage" function.
      Highly recommend.

A "licensed electrician" that wired a power point to a light switch? Surely that's not legal?

        • +3

He piggy backed off the light switch cable. I don't know the right term.

      • How about the plumbing part? Or was the water value exposed already in your bathroom?

        • My water valve was already exposed.
Basically the seat comes with a filter and an adapter which connected without any issues.

      • Using power from a light switch isn't right at all, it's alot easier but becomes dangerous for the next person to work on the circuit. They might isolate the power switches yet that switch is still live because its on the light circuit breaker. I doubt you would of got a certificate for that work. Honestly would not of been that card to run into a regular power line

Previous buyers said that 18m seems to be the life expectancy

      • +3

Yep, ours is dead now. Not good enough Xiaomi

      • +2

Yup. Mine is dead as well.

        • +2

mine dead too, right on queue at 18 months. still very tempted. my butt could really do with that warm seat function

          • +2

@PreSsieGuY: Mine is dead as well. Will never buy again.

      • +1

I got mine October 2018 and still works well. Used it for about 21 months so far 🤞

Got it for $236 on this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/411502

I agree with dmonte03 review. Highly recommended if it last at least for a few more years…

      • +1

Mine broke around that timeframe as well. Meanwhile my other unit, Brondell (4x more expensive though) still going strong.

      • I got one of these in October 2018, gets used all the time, has constant power, still works great 21 months later. Also got mine from this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/411502. Highly recommend these.

Is there an iPhone app for this ?

  • Does this have Australian power plug & AU aproved.

  • +1

    No app, no air dry.

  • +1

I bought it from ebay-gearbite in 2018 and it is still working fine. Built quality is very good with compared to few I saw in Bunnings and Costco. It came with Australian power plug and English sticker.

I wonder what kind of data this is sending back to Xiaomi? Dump density? Piss pressure?

    • +14

Sending data straight back to Winnie the Poo.

    • Think bigger - nutrient deficiency, DNA analysis, tox and drug screen!

  • We enjoyed similar smart toilet seats when we stayed at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives last year, loved it opening when we come close; then closing when we walked away.

    • +2

I suppose that is better than closing when you come close.

  • Unfortunately, I don't have any visible water outlets near toilet seat, so I assume I can't install it unless I carry out some major plumbing work

What does your cistern fill up with?

      • He may has the in wall cistern toilet

    • The package should contain a T connector. At least the ones I bought from Costo do.

    • I connected mine to the valve under the sink using a flexible water connector.

      • Thanks. The valve under the sink is around 3 feet away, so this might look little odd, but I think this is a possible option.

    • It might not be too difficult. As not as it's not a inwall and your outlet in at the cistern it can be done. Alot easier if you don't have tiles going all the way up behide the cistern, just be a little plaster work

      • All water connection to the cistern is inwall, and not visible.. Also there are tiles behind the cistern wall

        • +1

That only if the cistern is actually in the wall. If it outside and you pop the lid off where the push buttons are you will see the water outlet there. Generally on the left side. If that's not a option they can tap into a tap outlet if it's not too far. Again easy with just plaster work if it's not all tiled

  • Do the button text/sticker in english or chinese?

  • Come on Smarto bidets.. drop your prices!

  • I have been wanting this for a long time. However, the toilet bowl in my house is super small, is only 400mm from the hinge to the front.

Has anyone with a similar toilet got success in fitting any type of these?

  • This or xiaomi whale spout?

    • I got both and the whale spout sits too far forward as it has a larger back

  • @lele, no card payment method in checkout? only Alipay and PayPal?

    • Yes, at this moment. credit card payment will be add on next week.

Are these legal to install in NSW? I have been looking at these ones and got the following response from a plumber:

Plumber: Have you got back flow device?
Me: No idea mate. Send you the pic(I have plumbing out connected to the cistern)
Plumber: Sorry mate it’s illegal to install it on there. Need to install the valve which is not cheap it’s about $300.

Spoke to another and he said he can do it.

    So Just confusing :(

  • Been wanting to buy this but the water that flushes our toilet comes from rainwater tank. :(

  • @lele,

How many metres of the hose connected smart seat and water valve?

I need a 2 metres hose as my valve on right side and my toilet is against wall.

Is the hose a generic one?can I get a longer one from Bunnings if yours is too short?

    • +1

One end of the hose is not "generic", it clips on to the supplied tee piece, the other end can be extended though using a half inch nipple and another flexi hose.

      • thank you

  • +1

Why on earth does it need to be a 'smart' device? Who would want to be using their phone to control their toilet?
Also, I wouldn't want a toilet that has to phone home to work. Or is this not actually 'smart' just electronic?

  • @ OP - Does this have the Watermark Cert?

  • @lele
    Is this Watermark certified?
