Will iPads Be Reduced Soon? Any New Ones Coming out

Just after a regular ipad but not in a rush as schools have allowed us to borrow an ipad, can't seem to find any deals but anyone aware of new ipads to be released in September as usually there will be a sale pre release? Thanks

*also does officworks compare prices to tobydeals website? Found one for $475 there free shipping https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/apple-ipad-10-2-20…

(*website above is stock from Hong Kong, good price although I prefer local stock and possibly zippay)

*Studio Proper have them priced at $499 free shipping https://www.studioproper.com.au/products/ipad-7th-gen-10-2-w…

Not sure, and I highly doubt Officeworks will price match that.

Arguably the most well known Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, says first half of next year will see one with an even bigger display. I wouldn't wait for that: https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidphelan/2020/06/29/apple-ip… but there is small chance we might see one at the end of this year with mini-LED backlighting: https://9to5mac.com/2020/03/20/new-ipad-pro/

That said, neither of these sound like a particularly significant leap. I'd be pretty happy buying the current one - but given the sketchiness of any new model arrival times, I doubt you will get a better price than now until 2021. Phones are updated more frequently, and I'm looking forward to a hopefully not-delayed September launch of the iPhone 12 range, which should include a 5.4 inch model for better one handed use.

Annual sales include (where a lot of different retailers participate): Click Frenzy 2+/year, Black Friday, Boxing day.
There is apparently a click frenzy happening in 6 days, so I'd wait at least until then and see what's up.

  • Studio Proper are struggling to get Apple stock at the moment, I ordered something a few months ago that keeps getting delayed with pretty disappointing communications from them.

Get one from Apple direct, from the education site for 499

https://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ always worth checking when buying Apple products

  • You could also try and get the last gen model (Gen 6) for cheaper. Same processor, smaller screen, apple pencil support as well. Doesn't come with the Smart Connectors though.
