Can Someone Recommend Me a Good Laptop/Notebook to Buy? (Budget $1500)

I have not bought a Laptop or Notebook in many years and I've been wanting to invest in one. I don't know much about specifics like batteries and which are good/bad, screen quality, how long it can be used without charge, etc. I do know lot about PC parts though.

I am interested in one of those Laptops with the new Ryzen 4000 line with integrated graphics (I think they use Vega?) and also with the fast NVME SSDs in them and DDR4 memory (8 enough or 16?).

I don't know what is good and don't really have a budget, but I think $750-$1500 would be my range. I mainly want to use it for playing many older games on my lap and they run fine, and emulating old games, etc.

I know this'll sound strange but I like smaller laptops and I'm okay with 720p screen if its a real high quality one. I loved the keyboards on the older Lenovo ThinkPads, they were like Desktop keyboards, really good.

If someone can recommend me some Laptops and Models and what to look for and what to avoid, I'd appreciate any advice.

I've seen and heard Laptop purchase horror stories where it was a nightmare and waste of money and I want to try dodge that :P

  • Lenovo E14, E15 or X13. Will get the job done, either that or the Dell G series

  • I wouldn't call liking smaller laptops strange…Laptops were originally designed to be portable! I wouldn't go a 720p screen though on any size of laptop. The Lenovo's mentioned above are a good choice. I'd pick them over Dell.

  • Hey an amd e14 gen 2
They go on sale for 900ish often.
Upgrade it to 16gb and you'll even be able
To play modern games on low settings
