Looking to Buy Some Domain Names - How Can I Protect Myself during The Process?

Hey guys,

I'm looking into buying some domains names from someone that is selling them online. Some of the domains are for sale on a domain auction/marketplace site and others are directly with the domain owners.

How can I:

• Protect myself during the transaction
• Ensure ownership of the domain is transferred properly to me
• Anything else that I need to be aware of, or that is required

    This - pay an escrow service, when both parties are satisfied then payment is released.

    Depends on which marketplace you use as well - some have an integrated escrow service.

    Yeah a few of the domains are on the GoDaddy auction marketplace.

  Do a search for the current domain owner online, and if they have a history of selling domains then that's a positive
