P8P67 PRO, Not Seeing Compatible RAM?

I've been onto the Asus site and even though it states that the maximum RAM for this board is 32GB, I see no 2 x 8GB or 2 x 16GB RAM on their QVL or am I blind?

Currently, it's running with 2 x 4GB Corsair CMZ4GX3M1A 1600 C9B, 9-9-9-24

I want to add another 2 x 8GB and looking at this set:

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/16GB-Corsair-Vengeance-LP-2x-8GB…

Doesn't have to come from Ebay, I'm just wondering if you think I'll have issues. Does anyone else have this board and if so, is it picky on RAM? I'm going to upgrade it for a friend.

Ta!

Probably wasn't that common for people to have 16 or 32Gb kits on their boards 9 years ago, so why bother testing it.

Ensure you update to the latest BIOS, and you should be ok to use 8GB 1600MHz modules.

16GB DDR3 modules were server grade registered RAM, which wouldn't work with your motherboard anyway.

I had that board and it wasn't picky with RAM. That set on ebay should work with the existing set.

  • P67, now that's a name I haven't seen in years, damn

    • It's actually not bad for the limited gaming he plays. The GPU is the 6800. The new lease-on-life with the Kingston A400/960GB is very nice, indeed!

Thanks for the replies everyone, I've passed the info along. I told him to see how he goes as it is, with the new SSD/fresh Win 10 before upgrading.

      ;)

  • reminds me of my P8P400
