Ship laptop from US to Australia

Hi everyone,

Could you please help me out with this - I am planning to buy this laptop from US and ship to Australia and find Shop mate to be the cheapest option to do so. Is there any other faster and cheaper to buy it from US and receive it here in VIC? I am new to this, so any suggestion would be great. TA!

Getting this config for $USD750 from Costco.

  • have any friends in the USA who can post it to you?
just remember there is a few shipping restrictions at the moment my bro

    • Yes, one of my cousin lives in California. I am in no hurry to buy it, I am waiting for a more sweeter deal so that I can save on customs.

I read somewhere that if the item is more than $A1, 000,then there are additional charges.

      • Can your cousin open it and then sell it to you as "used"? I use comGateway for stuff like this personally.

    Shipito.com

Not sure if it'll be worth it.

So many fees, conversion fees, postage fees, GST, handling fees…

I think a plane would be quicker

  • Have you considered the different power supply requirements and how you would obtain warranty should something go wrong/be dead on arrival?

Also the localised keyboard may not be to your liking. It's not generally recommended to do this in an attempt to save a little.

We use the US keyboard though. If the OP was buying their laptop from the UK, then this sentence would be applicable

      • Fair enough. My keyboards are all UK. :)

try to get it off amazon usa. they seem to handle all the shipping crap pretty well, and would be easier to deal with for repairs etc

also check out international warranties. some companies (eg asus) offer, others dont.

Honestly it's not worth the stress. If it arrives broken or something breaks after a few months you are going to suffer!

Honest not worth the hassle, unless you are in the States or get it from Amazon AU via Amazon US

  • Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Much appreciated! 👏
