Yes this will help quite a bit compared to the stock cooler.
And correct, for a 3700x this will be all you need to attach it.

      • Thanks. I’ll order. Although, best I can do is $85. No idea how people are getting lower.

Guessing it has clips to attach to the board? Or would I need to remove the motherboard to attach some form of mounting clips? I hope not. I just finished building my new pc last week! :)

        • GST gets removed at one of the checkout stages.

  • I am sleeply and saw "Premium Cooler" as "Pentium Cooler", feels so old now.

  • If you've got $400 to spend, would you buy a cooler + a Ryzen 3600x or a Ryzen 3700x instead?

If you can wait a month or two the $30 snowman coolers from aliexpress are amazing.

I went for the 4 heat pipe $30 one for my 3600, very quiet and cool, and extra $10-20 can get you monster dual fan dual heatsink versions but they seem like major overkill to me.

  • The regular NH-U12S is also in stock shipping from Taiwan. This may or may not include AMD brackets depending on date of production. Exceptional value! Thanks again OP.

    • Yep just edited to change back original deal. It will have AM4 brackets 99% chance.

  • Would this be compatible with a Gigabyte motherboard (ga h77m d3h)?

Yes sir works on an LGA1155

      • Thanks! purchased one.

  • Seems like GST is being added on at the very final payment page?

Edit: nvm GST is added for the AM4 version

  • Not too familiar with coolers, how does this compare to the NH-D15 (which I can see has high reviews) other than being double the price?

I'm putting together a new build and have NH-D15 wishlisted with my current i7-6700K but if this would suffice at half the price, then definitely would consider it.

Pretty close between the two - really within a couple of degrees between them both with and without load.

From what I gather, part of the U12 performance is due to the focused fan (F12) vs the D15 (A14 and A15) fans.

The main difference is that the U12 is generally more compatible due to the smaller footprint/size of the cooler (if you're set on the D15 you might need to refer to the D15s for greater compatability).

      • Thanks mate!

I'll probably go with the U12 then given it's half the price at the moment and I'm not looking for extreme cooling options.
