Remember to hit up My Car (used to be Kmart tyre and auto) for price beat.

    •

      How does price beat works?

      • +5 votes

Call My Car and ask them to price beat the price you found…..

    • +1 vote

      They're two tired

  •

I recall Mycar does not pricebeat with codes.

    • +1 vote

They do last time I matched with tyroola

  • +2 votes

Got two tyres for the front. Cost me $117.5 per tyre. Good price for this particular brand. :)

    •

Glad you're happy with them. I've used Tyresales before and liked it.
Given they sell tyres between $116 and $662 each, not sure the amount you paid for your particular tyres is especially relevant to anyone else.

  •

Dang, thanks man, was looking for a new set of decent tyres!

  • -1 vote

Ooh that's handy! .. except .. I changed my mind and no longer want Yokos >.< doh. Much better than 4 for the price of 3 if buying 5

  • +3 votes

I used TyreSales last time I needed a new set - ended up with 4 x Kumho's installed for $344 which was considerably better than I could get anywhere else. Super easy process - highly recommended.

  •

    Does Trump approve these tyres?

Only if your car is made by Great Wall.

  •

How much does it cost to get tyres fitted?

    • +4 votes

Normally it's $20 per tyre including balancing.
So factor the extra charges of disposal and fitment from a tyre joint which may work out cheaper to purchase & fit at the same place rather than run around.
      Cheers

    •

I just got mine from Bridgestone this week, but in quoting Tyroola/SCA the cheapest around me in their network of local tyre mechanics was $108 for the four.

    •

Last time I bought from Tyresales it was included in the price.

  •

    Harold Approves!!!

  •

Where do you put the code?

  •

For BLUEARTH ES32 195/65R15 TyreSales is $157 each. Tyroola is $125 for the exact same, if you don't need the XL 95V the 91H is $79. I don't think there's much of a deal here.

    • +2 votes

Tyrools adds fitting charge on top , so compare final price

      • -1 vote

hi Mate, so u mean this one is cheaper or tyrools? I am a bit confused, is this one includes everything in ad price?

  • +5 votes

Was looking for tyres the other day - their prices look a bit on the expensive side compared even with the 25% off. $225 vs $367 ($275 with discount) for the same tyre.

    • +2 votes

Agreed. After a couple of price comparisons with Tyroola and Tempe, and even some big brand shops, I gave up quoting them.

      •

tyrools adds fitting cost on top so need to add 20-25$ extra ontop

        •

Even so. And $27/tyre was the cheapest one around me!

Just to be sure, I just looked again at TyreSales, and they're selling the tyre I bought this week—Bridgestone Dueller 400 245/55R19—for $275. Even Bridgestone is selling it cheaper, for $235! (Yes, fitted and balanced) And I paid 75% of that, using Tempe Tyres as leverage to negotiate an offer.

Just look at how much they want for a 245/55R19 Winrun (a cheap Chinese brand)! $210!! That's less than $100 on Tyroola/SCA!! (Yeah, ok, add another $30 tops for fitting and balancing, if you like, and you're still nowhere near TyreSales prices)

          •

@wisdomtooth: Yes you definitely can't blindly assume they're cheapest. Seems to vary a lot.

            •

@bmerigan: I couldn't find any bargain at TyreSales, whereas Tyroola and Tempe took turns as the cheapest as I scrolled down the tyre search results.

  •

quick question, how are you gonna fit these in your car? or are you going to have local mechanic/tyre place to do it for you?

    •

check the website you choose a local installer of your choice, otherwise you can deduct $ off to DIY (if you had access to a workshop etc) great setup and ive used them a few times now

      •

        cool, thanks for the info

  • +2 votes

Cheaper for me at Tempe $240 & Tyroola $233 + $21 Fitting vs TyreSales $383

    •

Way cheaper for me at Tempe for both cars (2 different tyre sizes). It's a bit of a drive for me though so it makes sense to drive there when I need at least 4 tyres (currently only after 2). I've used tyresales deal previously but deals were a fair bit sharper than these. Maybe other sizes have some bargains but not for me :(

  • +1 vote

I'm looking at 225/65R17 102H Geolander G91's for the wife's car…. Tyroola has them for $156 each and Tyresales have them for $307 each (even with 25% off they are gonna be $237 a corner)! Surely something is a bit off about that.

  •

I’m looking for a good single tyre deal for about $70 fitted. Anyone know what particular brand and type would fall in that category?

    •

Depends on size but for this deal the Yokohama ES32 would be the cheapest, probably not $70, maybe $80ea but you should never scrimp on tyres.

    •

Is it for the spare? Never bought 1 single tyre ever. If only 1 is damaged beyond repair I still buy 2 & sacrifice the worst other non-damaged tyre (usually moving something better to spare position)

what size are you after BongoOB?

      •

I have bought 1 tyre after 1 got damaged. 3 months old, $330 tyre.

      •

        195/65/R15

        •

oh my brother's FD i30 had that standard if I recall correctly

not much quality stuff for $70 but $85 gets you this nice touring option from Dunlop
          https://www.tempetyres.com.au/tyreproducts?dunlop-1956515-91...

You can save $6 and get FALKEN ZE914 but it's H speed rating (might be less than the other tyres on the car)

These are all-inclusive of fitting + tyre disposal etc btw

  •

Do we need to get wheel Alignment needed when changing tyre? What's everyone thought?

    •

Some of the fitment centres have a free alignment so you should select one of these

      •

        any recommendations?

      •

Never heard of free alignment. It’s usually free balancing.

    •

No. It is a version of "would you like fries with that".
Get an alignment when you notice uneven wear.

  •

Wow 4 V105s fitted, balanced and aligned for $891. Best I could find elsewhere was $1000. May have to pull the trigger on this.

  •

Just bought 4x KUMHO ECOWING ES01 KH27 195/55r16 $368 installed on Rolan Ebay Store. 20% off with code PAU20 at the moment.

Probably not the best price but $92 a tyre compared $144 online elsewhere.

  •

Sold out of the size I need so cant compare :(

    •

Have you tried one size larger? You'll get a higher rolling diameter, better fuel economy, less clicks on the odometre (better resale) and better gutter protection!

      •

        Joke right?

      •

        Haha already up a size

One size bigger wont fit in spare compartment

  •

Just bought 2 blueath tyres from it, hope everything goes well. First time bought tyres online.

  •

It said "Sorry, that promo code has expired." when the code was being redeemed. Any idea guys? Trying buying 4 x YOKOHAMA BLUEARTH AE51

    • +1 vote

Prob cause the tyre you selected has another promo with it. I tried to select a set which had an active $50 off 4 tires and it threw the same code. selected a non-promotional tyre and it worked

    • +2 votes

Excludes tyres on promotion, so no double dipping discounts.

    •

Same was looking at this model in 225/45/R18

  •

    Dang sold out of 97W/Ys

  • +2 votes

Oops! The code you entered doesn't exist. Please check and try again.

    • +1 vote

      I got that too

  •

Called the local Bob Jane and they price matched

    •

i called up as well and they said that its up to the main store not the local store. What did you show to them?

      •

In my area Jax have been interested to price match than Bob Jane but it always depends on what tyre manufactures you're chasing - I was quite specific last time

      • +1 vote

Told the guy it was on Tyresales. He jumped on to verify and then was happy to match.

  •

Thanks, saves me ~ $40 per wheel over the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s which I was about to re-purchase

    • +5 votes

The Michelin's are a much better tyre, you'd be better off spending the extra $40 per wheel.

  • +3 votes

Code Doesnt work for me, error says - Oops! The code you entered doesn't exist. Please check and try again.

    •

See other comments. Can't double discount

  •

I won't even bother looking. These deals never have 165/50/R15 tyres.

  •

    Code not working. Downvoted.

  • +2 votes

Code not working with 4 Yokohama tires

  • -1 vote

Not working here neither, tried types without the $100 off 4 type promo (YOKOHAMA ADVAN FLEVA) as well and still doesn't work.

  • -1 vote

    Doesn't work for me either…
I wonder what the t&c are as can't even find this deal on their website

    • -1 vote

yep looks like they've pulled it, worked for me this arvo but not now, exactly the same tyres, pretty dodgy

  • -1 vote

Can anyone recommend a decent performance tyre similar to the RE003? In a 245/45r18. TIA

  •

    Bridgestone or Yokohama?

I want good quality tyres that can absorb a lot of the road impact.

    • +2 votes

If you want to absorb impact, you need a higher side wall. Typially the larger the rim size, the smaller the side wall.

You can put on larger than stock, but your speedo will read slower than what you are actually traveling.(Because the overall circumference of the tyre is larger, moret distance travelled per rotation of tyre)

I have larger than stock on my 4x4. Speedo reads 95, and i'm traveling 100km/ph

  •

tempe tyres are disgustingly cheap, can get all 4 done for $260

    •

      What tyres you got?

    •

Watch out with Tempe, one of the reasons some of their stock sometimes is so much cheaper is because they're offloading "old" tyres.

By old I mean manufactured 3 years ago, happened to my dad he got tyres from them a few months ago and those tyres were made in 2017. This might not bother you since they are still technically new condition, however if you do some research once tyres hit the 5-7 year mark from manufacture date they become brittle.

So yes you're paying much less for a tyre but it also has much less effective life in it.

      •

ye i'm poor af tho so it's all g

        ty tho : )

      • +1 vote

once tyres hit the 5-7 year mark from manufacture date they become brittle.

Probably if left in sun. Not sure I agree with brittle if stored well. Where you getting this information from?

        •

It's well documented by many tyre manufacturers. Do a quick google search on tyre expriy dates, it said to be around the 6 year mark and a lot of tyres even have this 6 year mark on the tyre itself as an expiry date.

No it's not only about sun exposure even though yes that does speed up degradation, its also related to the oxidation of the tyres rubber compound.

  •

whaaaaaat? Already gone??? Now I can use my old tyres till the next promotion .

    •

Honestly speaking, 25% off on yokohama with fitting and balance service. Never see better before and hard to see it again.
Usually, best deal is buy 3 and get 4 with fitting and balance service.

  •

    Gone?

  • +1 vote

Coupon says valid until the 30th

    •

yes - I've noticed that too - where does it say "unless withdrawn earlier"?

I'd ring the phone number although that kinda goes against the easy to use web interface - if you're going to bother ringing might as well ring other shops to see if they can beat the best price tyresales can offer
