Amazon does have a few rare good deals on Ego stuff. This for example: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0868D4FMB/ref=ppx_yo_d…

Power head plus edger attachment for $238 with free shipping for Prime members? Great deal…the power head alone costs more than that here.

US though, so may take a while. Wish they had more steep discounts on this stuff.

I've bought this exact item, got it delivered the other day took about 2 weeks.

There's a few things to note about it. It's the American Home Depot (Bunnings) version which retails for $139 USD ($195 AUD). It does not include a strap. It's serial number begins with N, the Aussie versions begin with A. For this reason you can't register it on the Ego Australia page for manufacturers warranty. It still has a warranty of a sort, as legally all products sold in Australia must. Mine was shipped via FedEx from California and took 4 days.

The attachment system used by ego feature star shaped rod fittings, some other manufacturers apparently use the same and I've heard are completely compatible. I can't vouch for doing that though and you're probably better off using ego attachments only.

It's a good tool and a great addition to my ego gear. The date of manufacture stamped was 1 month before my purchase so this isn't old stock.

Mostly regarding the warranty I'd be more concerned with buying any batteries here as in my experience those cark it before a tool will.

There's an ego Australia battery rebate coming around again starting in October, which will be valid for Australian purchases only so this probably won't qualify. It's still a great deal though.

      • That’s awesome news. Hopefully use Honda attachments. I couldn’t find links confirming cross compatibility. U got any?

        • I'm not sure. I've read comments of people in the US on some ego YouTube videos and there's been a couple of times they've mentioned they are compatible with other brands they also own but I can't remember which ones they are sorry.
