  • Good price

Is it three times better than https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/565368 ?

    • apples and oranges, but yes, Dell's Warranty is worth its weight

      • whats the difference in warranty?

        • +2

good luck claiming anything from xiaomi… Dell are known to replace upwards of 2/3 monitors in the same warranty period for defective monitors…

          • -3

@Markthetree: Well buy 3 xiaomi's and keep 2 in the cupboard so if the primary breaks, you reach over for a warranty replacement out of the cupboard and throw out the first monitor. Quickest warranty replacement ever.

          • @Markthetree: Though there are numerous other reputable sellers selling the xiaomi monitor at similar prices with 2 to 3 years warranty

Seems they have a better track record of 2/3 but sample size may differ…similarly to the non existent sample size of the Xiaomi stores warranty claim .

      • +2

Well, with that price, you have the chance of relpacing a monitor yourself if it failed and you are still at $300 saving.

    • +1

      IPS vs VA. So yes.

  • +2

If this had HDR I’d be sold… think I’ll hold out for a good HDR monitor. Still rocking the XB271HU I got about 4 years ago

    • +9

HDR is still a gimmick on computer monitors, equally so with windows poor implementation of it.

      • thats not true, using HDR on my cheapo Kogan monitor, can definitely tell the difference. If nothing else, it gets rid of banding (i'm thinking of the loading screen for Last of Us 2)

  • What's so good about this monitor vs the many other cheaper 34" ultrawide 1440p 100/120/144hz?

    • +1

Gsync module, IPS panel, Dell warranty are the only advantages.

      • +1

It's also the new nano-IPS, so 98% DCI-P3, making it great for doing colour accurate work then gaming :P

        • Got mine yesterday and can confirm it’s a really nice panel. Coming from a Dell 32” 4K photography monitor too (100% Adobe RGB)

        • -2

This one doesn't use a Nano IPS, it's the generation before. Same panel as the X34P and PG349Q, so better off getting those for the price, and you're getting better contrast

          • +3

@cille745: Think you're thinking of the previous model, this is the latest using the new LG nano IPS panel.

That's why it's RRP came out about $2500

  • Any deal happening still on Xiaomi 34 inch ultra wide monitor? Missed the eBay 21% off deal :(

  • +2

For the price I would pick the 34gn850 instead where the specs are much better (160hz, dp1.4…)

    • If you can get it in stock somewhere..

  • God damn… I just bought one at the last price. Reckon Dell will refund the difference?

    • Is the last one still refundable? If so just buy a new one and request return for the previous one right now…. and send the new one back when it arrives

      • yeah it turned up today. Maybe if I swing it that way, they'll just refund the difference.

        • +1

nah…. Ebay will pay part to the actual sellers in these Ebay code sales. But it won't hurt trying. Let us know if you can got the difference refunded directly please. Good Luck

  • Aaaaand I missed it. Been waiting since the last December sales ffs.

  • Someone bought 3 lol. Wish this was 240Hz like the Samsung G7/G9

  • Anyone got their screen yet? Apparantely mine is on the way and should be getting it today.
