Visit Netflix

STEP 4: Enter Card Details

  • Just got charged $14 on Argentina, been paying $8-9 for a couple of years. not sure what’s going on as that increase is way more than the extra 35% tax. Of to turkey I go

      What card/bank was it ?

Can you confirm if the transaction was in ARS ?

      • P&N bank and yes was in ARS. Was charged 736.35ARS instead of 449ARS…

  • Have been trying this out with my 28degrees card but keep getting a message "There was an error processing your payment information. Please check that all fields are filled out correctly and try again." - anyone else experiencing this?

    • I am having the same problem with 28 degrees card.

    • Same issue yesterday with 28 degrees, about to try again this morning

    • OK so had to do the gift card method… it does say my membership will start on the gift card and then my credit card will be charged after.. hope that works.

      • +1

I received “An error occurred during gift redemption - please try again later” using the gift card from G2A.
        Did anyone experience this?
I called helpdesk, they pointed me to this site: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/59987?g=8687C358D125E515187…

        Solution being:
        1. Clear cookies - I tried this, still failed.
        2. wait for 24 hours - helpdesk said, probably the card is not activated. Can anybody confirm this?

I used existing account, with no credit card attached to it.

  • Anyone else getting Windscribe Turkey - BLOCKED for Netflix?

    • Working for me.

Just renewed my recently expired subscription using the giftcard method posted BlueDwarf.

Note, i successfully purchased the giftcard (payed with paypal) when not connected via any VPN. It can take a while for the "Verification in progress.." part once payment completed. Be patient, and wait approx 20-30 minutes for success. It might seem it hasn't accepted payment, but it will eventually go through.

Then i connected to VPN (Turkey) using Windscribe , and restarted my Netflix subscription using the Giftcard code.
While i was at it, i purchased another giftcard, and redeemed.

Charged: $13.71 this morning. Account expired yesterday.

Used Windscribe bot to get trial for Argentina.

Reactive screen was simply Argentinean priced.

Netflix processed my current ING Card and even left my AU number in place.

Probably should have gone with Turkey but it worked :)

    • Same here. probably because of that new tax from Argentina gov.

  • +1

I can't get this to work. Tried various VPN's to Turkey/Argentina. Incognito mode every time. I either can't get past the payment screen, or if I do it asks for a mobile number to verify without being able to skip. My account already has my AUS number in it.

Tried to just go back and pay AUS price and can't even do that. Trying to use either my credit card or PayPal results in the message "Sorry, but something went wrong. Please try again later."

    • Exactly the same issues for me :(

      • Out of curiosity I contacted Netflix who said my account is disabled for 24 hours due to repeated failed attempts and that I need to verify my number. Told them I have been trying to verify my number for more than 2 years without luck. The confirmation text is never received. Initially they tried to fob it off as a carrier issue, until I told them that I have tested it again Boost, Telstra, Vodafone each with a variety of numbers (using family / friend numbers to ensure mine wasn't blacklisted).

They tried to sidestep the entire issue and told me to try again in 24hours. I then raised the point that what would I do if I tried to do a password reset and my number wasn't officially verified, even though its been on my account for the last 2+ years. They have taken note and will look into it maybe. If they fix the number verification issue then it may make things easier for a lot of people. If my account had of been verified then I daresay I wouldn't have had any issues.

Once my account is back I am just going to renew at the Aussie price. Can't be stuffed risking locking my account again.

    • Exactly I also facing same issue.

  • I'm trying to figure out which cards aren't charging the extra amount for Argentina…
Has anyone been paying with Citi debit or UBank? or the many others here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/cards_with_no_overseas_tra…
    So far I have:
charging extra - 28 degs, ING
charging the old amount - UP, Bankwest

I was charged $13.71 yesterday using Citibank card.

      • Same. I have a Citibank credit card and I got charged 13.31 two days ago. Do you know why is that? They hadn't been charging additional before.

        • Additional tax from Arg gov. I’ll move to Turkey by the end of this month anyway.

    • Macquarie are charging the new extra amount. Just got charged and came to investigate why it was more than usual. Seems like it’s time to move to Turkey for me!

  • To those that have done this.

I had cancelled my account last week, which ended yesterday. At what point today would be safe to do VPN deal?

    cheers

Hey guys, worked for me yesterday. I used Hola vpn which never connected then tried ExpressVpn which had Turkey location but always showed prices in Euros in Netflix so finally surf shark vpn was the way to connect to Turkey, used the Netflix gift card via paypal from https://www.g2a.com/netflix-gift-card-100-tl-turkey-i1000000…
    and all set.

    • I received “An error occurred during gift redemption - please try again later” using the gift card from G2A.

    same scenario with Argentina..
    What am I doing wrong?

use the netflix card method. That worked for me.

      • Thanks for the reply.
Can you please point me to the post? I think I might still be stuck because of the expired card (payment method) but I'll try this method you're suggesting. Thanks again.

  • I have waited for my Netflix subscription to expire and then to restart using the Netflix gift card via paypal from https://www.g2a.com/netflix-gift-card-100-tl-turkey-i1000000…
The only problem is when I try to use the gift card method, Netflix has my previous bank details saved and doesn't give me the gift card option. I tried to log on to Netflix AU and remove my details but it is not letting me to do so. From my understanding, the only way to get through the mobile verification code is to use an account with your mob no previously saved. Does anyone have tips on how I can restart with netflix gift cards?

    Thank you

    • +1

You can remove the card details by chatting with the support team. I’ve successfully done it using that method.

  • I gave up on Turkey, kept denying my card. I went back to Argentina, just have to suck up the tax, the middle tier works out to $9.56 AUD.

    • Which card u using? Am using ANZ visa debit

      • tried ING and Coles.

Just giving this another crack with the turkish signup and windscribe vpn.
My number is already in the account details but getting stuck at the turkish mobile number again to complete the sign up.
Any more ideas? incongnito doesn't let me sign in at all.

    • Yep me too…. accepts my Amex but I'm stuck at the mobile verification part :(

      • Apparently there's no fix for that.
Thinking Brazil for $8/month, just need to try again as my back blocked it but sent me a text which I replied it was me, so hopefully they unblock next time.

  • How do I go about switching over from Argentina to Turkey? I just go my credit card charged for this month and the price went up from Argentina. Since I was just billed, do I have to wait until the end of the month before cancelling? And if so, what is the procedure to re-sign to Turkey? I have two VPNs I can use to switch to a Turkish server, so that should be OK on that end.

Can I still use my same account and credit card (I'm just using the credit card issued from my bank in Australia)? A lot of people seem to be saying that their credit cards aren't working. Is it possible mine might not work when switching over to Turkey, or should it still work if I've previously used it with Argentina?

Also, for those people's credit cards that aren't working, is that Netflix that is blocking it, or is it our credit card providers that are blocking the payment from going through?

    • I couldn't get my Amex and 28d credit cards to work for me so I ended up going the gift card route which was the least hassle overall. You need to cancel your billing and wait until the current billing period ends. Once it ends you will need to contact support to remove the credit card details from your account. Once that's done you can follow the VPN steps and choose gift card as payment. It asked me for a mobile number but I was able to use my Aus number so no problem there. Done.

      • You need to cancel your billing and wait until the current billing period ends. Once it ends you will need to contact support to remove the credit card details from your >account

        Thanks for the reply.

OK, I will try that as my billing doesn't end until the end of the month. Do I contact Netflix support and ask them to remove the credit card details after billing cancel date elapses? Do you still get to keep the same account, so that you can re-sign at a later date?

It asked me for a mobile number but I was able to use my Aus number so no problem there.

I can't remember if I have a mobile number listed on my current account. Do you need to use the country code +61 or do you just put your Australian mobile number in?

        • You can remove the card details before the end of the current billing period. I’ve done that, now waiting until the end of month to move to Turkey.

          • @hawkeye93: Alright, thanks. I will try and do it now (cancel the billing and ask them to remove credit card details). What happens if you leave the credit card details in and try to re-sign with Turkey after the billing period ends? I would have thought that would be better for payment to go through as it's the same card, or is the card linked with the previous currency you've paid in?

I also wonder if I should contact my bank (it's the only credit card I have - issued by my bank) before attempting to do the Turkish VPN thing and payment. I also don't recall having to use a phone number last time I signed up via Argentina (I should have chosen Turkey back then, but oh well, I went with Argentina).

People have mentioned to tell your CC company that you'll be in that country for a few days, but I don't really want to tell them that I will be in that country, though, in case I need to make another payment in that time period. I just want to say something like "I am going to make a payment in Turkish currency for a service, can you not block it." Would a credit card company accept something like that?

            • @Ice009: If your credit card details are still there when you try to re-sign with Turkey, it won't give you an option to pay with gift cards. So only contact support to remove your credit card details if you intend to go the gift card route. Many people have had problems trying to use credit cards, such as being blocked by the bank, Netflix requiring Turkish phone numbers for verification etc, hence the gift card option. and yes, you can get to keep your account even after the credit card details are removed.

              • @Kine: I did the same yesterday and it worked . I then contacted back the support team and they were able to load my credit card details to my account so once the gift card balance is used, the payment will be taken from the credit card.

                • @moony: Brilliant idea. I never thought of that. So once the gift card expires, it should start taking payment from your credit card? Was this mentioned anywhere else in the post? If not, great idea.

Where did you get your gift card from? Can you get a cheap one that only covers a month or two subscription?

Also, when you got them to load you credit card details back in, did you have to give them the CC number again, or did they still have the details on their end?

                  • @Ice009: The steps I followed:
                    1. contacted netflix support to remove credit card details from the account
                    2. added Australian mobile phone to my account - https://www.netflix.com/phonenumber
                    3. purchased Turkey netflix giftcard - https://www.g2a.com/netflix-gift-card-100-tl-turkey-i1000000…
                    4. signed up Turkey netflix using the giftcard
                    5. contacted netflix support and they have added credit card to the account as a back up payment

Surfshark vpn didn't work for me so ended up using windscribe.

                    • @moony: I received “An error occurred during gift redemption - please try again later” using the gift card from G2A.

                    • @moony: Does each region have it's own support team? If requesting to remove credit card details, should you be logged into Australian account?

              • @Kine: Thanks for the tips. I never thought about clearing it if going the gift card route.

What do you think about Moony's idea about starting with a gift card and then adding the CC details back? You think that would work, so that the payments can then start getting taken by the credit card?

                • @Ice009: In theory that should work. I loaded up enough gift cards to last me until mid next year so I don't have to worry about it for a while. It's $5.80 from credit cards vs $6.50 from gift cards for the Standard plan so I'm happy for now.

  • +1

Just went through the process. I managed to get past the Turkish mobile number prompt by following the instructions here: https://netflixvpn.com/article/how_to_bypass_requests_turkis…

    Which basically meant:

    1. connecting a VPN to USA first, getting to the plan select page
    2. disconnect from USA VPN
    3. connect to Turkey location on VPN
    4. hit refresh and the plans change from USA to Turkish
    5. then you get taken to payment page, but it wouldn't accept either my ANZ or Citi credit card for payment

Ended up trying Argentina instead, and that works. It has charged me AUD $13.97 for the first month of the top plan.

    • Hmm this doesn't seem to work for me… it's still giving me USD prices even after switching to Turkish IP. IP Address lookup confirms that I have a Turkish IP address…

edit: Seems like it doesn't work when using Nord VPN Turkish servers. Worked fine when using "Hide My IP" Chrome extension…

  • My Argentina Netflix went from 8.5 to 13.5. Using Bankwest.

    • $13.50 isn't much cheaper than the Aus price is it?
Anyone tried Brazil, approx $8/month for standard (about half price)

      • Australian price is $20, still cheaper at $13.5 might need to try Turkey

        • oh right, I only need 1080p and 1-2 devices ($15-16 now).
The idea is to pay in the cheap currency, ~$5 sounded real good but get stuck at the mobile number part. So $8 for std not much more if it works (hve to try again as 28d blocked it first time)

  • +1

Confirmed ANZ VISA debit can work.
Turkey is doing promotion, you can either get the free month or a second month free.
Close the browser and reopen if you can’t see the offer.
P.S. If your card can’t get through, wait for another 24 hours. If your card has already linked to existing Netflix account, you can not get the free month.

  • I have 2 acc Netflix. I got charged with 605.16ARS in one account. The other still 449ARS. I don't know why.

    • +1

      Paying with the same card/method??

      • One by HSBC, one by OCB bank. But there before acc with HSBC pay 449ARS while acc with OCB just pay only 366ARS.

        • Which card you were charged 605.16 ARS?

          • +1

@hawkeye93: The mastercard OCB bank. The visa HSBC still 449ARS.

            • @RedXH: When were the transactions ?

              Especially the cheaper one.

            • @RedXH: Thanks. I have a HSBC card. Will try it next billing period.

  • Anyone tried Tidal, not the cheapest..?

  • Was on Brazil Netflix and got a Credit is where Credit is due email.

I signed up last month on the HD Plan, with the UHD plan free first month.
A few days into the second month get a refund email and need to restart my membership.

Re-subbed with a Brazil plan today, which has it appears the second cheapest Premium plan. Had to re-try my existing credit card (BankWest) about 5 times before it worked, so a bit weird.

Choose Brazil as could access a Brazil IP address with NordVPN. Already had the NordVPN subscription (3 year subscription nearly up, not that great a provider…) but they don't support Turkey properly - you show up as in the USA.

Note on the listing of VPNs above: VPNhub doesn't support Turkey either.

Found this spreadsheet of global Netflix prices on Reddit: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1usSHC2Vrb4KRk3WCu_2L…

    • Did you get the mobile verification page? I keep on getting "An Error processing your payment information" message. However, when I go to edit my payment details, it accepts it but then wants a mobile verification.

I use BW card as well.

P.S. I did not create a new account but tried to re-use my existing account.

    • How much does the Turkish premium plan equate to? What is the Premium plan price difference between Turkey and Brazil?

  • +1

So I finally got this to work.

1: Used Turkey VPN using PIA (already have a paid subscription)
2: Signed up to premium plan 44 TL ($7.77 AUD)
    3. Used Gift Code as the payment option
4: Input Gift Code which I bought from https://www.g2a.com/netflix-gift-card-100-tl-turkey-i1000000… (instant delivery)
5: DONE! Account says paid up until 22 December and after logging in it shows Australian top shows etc

If anyone has any quesions fire away

    • yeah, this one has been mentioned in another comment. So actual price would be 21.57*0.44 = $9.49 AUD, which is pretty good.

    • +1

Thanks. That worked for me. Took me a while to figure it out. I needed to set my GPS location as well as use VPN for Turkey if anyone else was having lots of issues like me.

P.S. Get a standard (HD) plan and they give you free 1 month premium (4K) plan.

      • how does it look for your GPS location?

    • Didn’t it ask for mobile verification? My existing one was iTunes subscription and unable to get rid of iTunes as payment method.

      • Maybe start up a new account? I used an old account I hadn'd subscribed to in a long time and when using the gift code option it did not ask me for mobile verification.

        • The new account is stuck at mobile verification, and apparently no way around it. So I will have to get the old account rid of iTunes and somehow change to gift cards. Is this a top-up gift card?

          • @gentlecrack: Thanks, it worked for me with a new login now.

            • @gentlecrack: How did you get it working? Did you use a gift card? Was there mobile verification?

              • @Ice009:

                1. Connected via Windscribe to Istanbul.
                2. Created login using Netflix.
                3. Click complete sign-off > See plans.
                4. Select plan, click next.
                5. Buy 100TL gift card from above link, you get the number instantaneously.
                6. Select Netflix gift card and enter the number. (No mobile verification)

                Tips:
                * If you are unable to proceed at any step, open new Private browser window, try disconnecting VPN and logging in first using the password.before you complete step 4, connect to VPN again and refresh, the prices will change.
                * If you are hit consistently with ‘Blocked’ page, or Netflix/en-tr is not taking in password, do not try to reset, instead follow above step
                * If none of the above works, try new browser, VPN and goto Netflix.com/clearcookies page.

Different combinations of above and a little trial and error will get you there. Netflix helpdesk is not of use as they won’t be able to help with Payment errors.

                • @gentlecrack: Thanks, it finally worked for me; however, I am still unable to add my credit card details. Is there a way to add them?

Edit: I did live chat and the rep was able to add the credit card info in my account via secure form.

    • is this working now with Citibank Debit cards?

    • 1: Used Turkey VPN using PIA (already have a paid subscription)

Did you cancel your membership and get your credit card details removed before trying to re-sign by using the gift card?

5: DONE! Account says paid up until 22 December and after logging in it shows Australian top shows etc

How are you planning to keep paying the subscription? Are you going to keep using gift cards or can you switch to paying with credit card once the gift card subscription expires?

    • I received “An error occurred during gift redemption - please try again later” using the gift card from G2A.
      Did anyone experience this?
I called helpdesk, they pointed me to this site: https://help.netflix.com/en/node/59987?g=8687C358D125E515187…

  • Cancelled my previous ARG Netflix due to the price rise and tried signing up for Turkey but it kept giving an error at the final screen.

Changed over to Brazil but had the same issue. Kept trying till eventually it kicked me out and I had to re-enter my CC details. Thought I had stuffed up but then entered them again and it signed up without a problem then. Kinda wish now I'd tried Turkey again once it made me re-enter in the CC info!

    • U remember how many times have u tried?

    • +1

How many times did you try? And what did you mean that it kicked you out. What was the error it kept saying at the final screen?

I also want to changeover from Argentina to Turkey (kicking myself that I didn't choose Turkey in the first place as I was going to when I signed up about a year ago via Argentina, but at the last minute went with Argentina).

      • +1

How many times did you try? And what did you mean that it kicked you out. What was the error it kept saying at the final screen?

Just the usual error on the final screen after selecting the plan and payment method. Can’t remember exactly what it was.

Tried 20-30 times and kept going back through it trying to get it to work. Ended up it forced me back to the main Netflix screen the ‘restart my membership’ then when I clicked that it prompted me for payment details either with a CC or gift card. Selected CC and entered in the details again and this time it worked without an issue.

Seems you need a saved mobile number but having a saved CC info can stuff it up. Didn’t have the issue when I went to ARG ages ago.

        • Thanks for the reply and information. So you think it's more the phone number rather than your credit card company blocking the payment going through?

I don't currently have a mobile number saved to my account as I don't recall needing one when signing up with Argentina. Do you think that I should enter my mobile number into my account before cancelling it?

Also, since I've never cancelled before, how does the reactivation work? Do you just log back into your account and reactivate it, and then choose what plan you want again?

And does anyone know what happens if I don't have my credit card info removed before trying to reactivate with Turkey? For example, when you cancel your membership, I assume the account still stays active for a period of time before getting deleted? If so, and I left my credit card details, does that mean if I reactivate, I'll just get charged in Argentine currency again?

          • @Ice009: It more seems to be an issue with CC details which are already on your account. Your issue could be that you never had a number, and as it does need verification it won’t work when trying to reactivate. You may be better off changing to an AU account for a month, verifying your number then trying to change back to somewhere else?

There’s no way to remove the CC details apart from asking support to do it, so the ‘glitch’ that happened with me removed them for me then once I entered it in again it went through without an issue. If you’re having trouble with it going through the final confirmation screen it might be worthwhile asking support to remove the existing CC and adding it again when you’re trying to reactivate the account.

Will see how I go with Brazil’s Standard plan, if I find I need the 4 streams instead I’ll try getting the CC details removed again before trying Turkey.

With regards to reactivating the account you just cancel it, let it lapse (so login a day after it has lapsed) then when you login it’ll ask you to reactivate your account. Just follow through the prompts to select the plan you want, but if your number isn’t on the account you’ll need to have it verified so hence my comment before about changing over to AU Netflix for a month so it does have a verified number on it.

            • @Nousernamehere: Do you think I can just add a phone number now before canceling, or will adding one to the account now, not verify it?

              • @Ice009: I'm not sure how you'd manage to add (and verify) your AU number when you're paying through ARG Netflix. I mean give it a try, but considering they don't allow you to enter in your number with the +61 country code you won't get the verification code at all.

                • @Nousernamehere: Good point. You are probably right on that as it's set to Argentina. lol. I didn't think of that ;).

I guess I might have to switch over to an Australian account for a month like you suggested (a couple of posts above) if the phone number verification doesn't work. Thanks for that idea/tip. I think that could work.

@Nousernamehere: Just thought I'd give you an update. After reading your post last night, I went to my account and since the phone number field was blank I tried to add a phone number to see if I could. The dropdown box initially showed Argentina and I was able to change it to Australia (I can't remember if it listed all countries) and add my mobile number, and then it sent me a verification text and I verified my number and it is now saved there. Hopefully, it's all good and there is no issues with my number being Australian and account being linked to Argentina.

Hopefully having the number there will help when I try and sign up with Turkey next month.
