2400

Mod remove if incorrect but just want to bring attention back to this post since Netflix jacked their AU prices today. It's been almost a year since it was originally posted.

Decent VPN Guide @Reddit

STEP 2: Confirm Turkish/Argentinian IP

IP Check
IP Check

STEP 3: Sign Up

Open a new incognito/private-browsing tab in your browser. Might not be enough

Visit Netflix

STEP 4: Enter Card Details

Working: Citibank Debit, 28 Degrees, Macquarie, ANZ Rewards

Mixed reports: ING, CBA

Note: Some banks block 1st attempt & send you a txt to confirm it's you. Once you reply, 2nd attempt will work.

Once complete, it may ask for a mobile phone number. Ignore it, open netflix site in a fresh tab & confirm account is running.

Existing Subscribers:

Visit Netflix website and cancel your subscription ASAP. It will expire at the end of the billing period. Then follow instructions above.

      • Thanks for confirming. In the deal for the gift cards someone said you didn't need to be logged in via VPN to redeem them.

  • Why is everyone preferring Turkey over Argentina?

    • Cheaper price after the new tax in Argentina.

      • Thank you. Will avoid Argentina!

Got this to work via Turkey, new subscription and account by doing the following:

    1. Clear cache and cookies, turn off location services on device being used.
    2. Connect to Turkey via VPN of choice
    3. Using incognito/private mode, sign up at Netflix
    4. Tried to use ANZ Rewards card didn’t work 29/12
    5. Turn off VPN i.e. go back to Oz
    6. Bought 100TL giftcard via g2a (yes It does feel a bit scammy, so be vigilant and buy from a well reviewed seller)
    7. Clear cache and cookies
    8. Turkey VPN
    9. Private/incognito mode, select redeem giftcard option with netflix.
    10. Skipped putting in a mobile number
Nb. It took about 8 hours for my giftcard to work. Initially I was getting an error message and thought my g2a scam concerns were validated. Just wait like 8-12hours then it worked.
    • I've bought 2 g2a NF gift cards in the past few days and they instantly worked. Guess I was lucky.

  • Has anyone been able to add their credit card details to their "Turkey" Netflix account?
I've contacted their live chat and they said I need to turn off any VPN to add credit card details and there was no secure form.

    • Why would they know you were on a VPN…
      You're in Turkey :)

      • yeah, I told them I was in Turkey and that was their response :)

        • maybe the fact your Turkish was off and had to speak in English…

  • Hey guys I have been using Netflix turkey for a while now, more than a year. Please note that the only way I managed was via Revolut (100% fee free including the exchange so pretty happy)

    • how do you use revolut? Do you have to get a credit card from them or something?

      • Sign up for an account and they’ll send free debit card. Move money in the debit card and use for Netflix and also free virtual one time cards

        • cool thanks mate. Sorry netflix noob here…so can you pay for a whole year in advance so you dont need to keep moving money into the debit card then netflix each month?

  • Working here fine with Turkey selected. Switched my Dad as well. Charged $7.44 on Up today.

    • Could I ask which credit card you had success with?

      • +1

i believe from reading above that funkyblue used the card from "Up" Bank, a neobank very similar to 86400 which i had success with below :)

    • I'm having issues using my UP debit card, could you share the process you used?

  • +3

Success changing existing au account to turkey:
    1. Changed existing payment method to my 86400 debit card, then set existing subscription to cancel at end of current billing period
    2. Once subscription expired, (all in Chrome Incognito window on win10 PC) - logged in without vpn on (refused to log in while vpn set to turkey), then once logged in turned on VPN using Windscribe to (Istanbul - Galata), then refreshed page and clicked through the steps, received no errors. Entered AU mobile number at the relevant step.

Tried same process once before but with different card and it failed at that step, using 86400 card did the trick

  • Bump 👍😀

  • I got mine working but browsing through the content, I'm not sure I want to keep the subscription. Nothing I really want to watch on there anymore.

  • Use this site to search the international Netflix database then use a VPN to access different countries Netflix.

Post should be updated 28 Degrees does not work. New email account, net Netflix account, Hola VPN fresh session. Tried three times, all I get is 'there appears to be a problem with your payment method…" error.

    • same here, been trying couple of times with 28 degrees card, not working…
Anyone had luck with 28 degrees recently?

  • completely unrelated but has anyone used this method to see who has cheaper tinder gold subscription? turkey or Argentina? would it even work using the same VPN method?

  • All the people who have done the secure form method to add their CC after using a gift card, do you use VPN to chat with the Turkish helpdesk or just the good ol' Australian one?

Wondering if the Australian chat support (without VPN) also give you the secure form given your account is in Turkey?

    • +1

I used turkey vpn(windscribe) and started chat on mobile browser. I mentioned my old card was damaged and bank sent me a new card. I was immediately sent a secure form. Within 2 min all done.

      • was trying to update the payment method as card is expiring. The live chat with Windscribe VPN worked for me. Thanks!

    • No need to use VPN in my case.

    • How???

The guy who talked to me was no help at all.

He just said "sorry, can't verify the card" then linked me to a page that shows what kinds of cards will work (Guess what? based on that page, my card should work).

He told me that I could just use gift cards, told him I don't want to keep buying gift cards. That I'd just cancel my membership if I'm unable to use my debit, nope didn't work.

If you get "Roi Michael" avoid that guy, he isn't going to help you.

  • +1

Not sure if the main post has been updated in a while. Which debit cards work without any issues for the Turkey membership?

    Thanks.

    • Revolut

      • Just opened a revolut for this. Still not working. Do I need to do something different?

        • Turkey vpn

    • UBank debit card with no international transaction fees too.

    • Generally, the deal & details haven't changed in several years…just the prices a little bit (cheaper)

  • Cannot work out what I'm doing wrong. I'm on my Android phone (this is where iPhone users tell me that's what I'm doing wrong!). Anyway, Chrome sync off. Completely cleared Cache.Switched off Location settings on Google & Chrome. Turkey VPN is on using NordVPN and I've checked my IP and i'm definitely getting a Turkish IP. Gone into Incognito, and if I Google Netflix, then it shows the Turkish google results in Turkish, so all seems correct. Go to netflix.com/signup and I just can't understand why I'm seeing the US prices when selecting See the Plans. Any help is very much welcomed.

    • Couldn't get Turkey working but managed Brazil. $11 for Premium.

    • +1

Previous commenters have mentioned that they didn't have luck with NordVPN, and suspected that Netflix must have identified NordVPN IP addresses in Turkey

      • Possibly that, tried Hola freebie as well. Same outcome. Couldn't be bothered with the hassle of signing up to CyberGhost to test that (and then using their 7/14 day money back guarantee). Some commenters have mentioned ANZ Rewards didn't work, I can confirm it does.

  • anyone tried paying using prepaid mastercard? i've (cough cough) recently acquired a few of these and figure this would be better than turkey giftcards assuming my 28 degrees and ubank debit card are rejected. 3% fee for prepaid cards only adds around 25 cents to the premium plan.

  • I feel for those who've tried and failed, whilst mine is working, I'm going to cancel my subscription soon due to the lack on interesting content available and no time to really watch.

  • Just wondering if Revolut + Turkish VPN is still working to get Netflix Turkey prices? Tried VPN+28Degrees and VPN+Transferwise yesterday but neither of these methods worked….. :-(

  • I used a 3month gift card for turkey, and about 2months into it I could go and update payment details. It already had my CBA CC in there from the month it charged me in AUD before i got the gift card. I put in the CVC and it accepted it as payment method.

The gift card has now finished and I was charged 29.99 TL without issue. Didnt need to VPN to update payment details, nor webchat. Wooop!

  • I’ve been trying to sign up using Revolut virtual card and using PIA turkey VPN and I keep getting an error that payment method isn’t valid. Is the VPN no good? As I’ve seen lots of people having success with revolut…

  • Tried multiple times, but it kept asking me for a turkish phone number to confirm the signup process. After 30mins, I caved in and signed up for an AU account.

  • Note: Adding CC/DC via live chat / secure form is the best option. Used ING Debit Card

  • +1

my steps to get it working using CBA debit card, Hide my ass vpn

    -let my existing sub expire

-buy a netflix turkey gift card (I did this later and forgot to turn off the vpn and got my purchase declined by g2a, had to go to kinguin and pay $6 more also took few days to arrive)

-get the free trial for hide my ass vpn, set it to turkey

-Incognito to netflix sign in, picked ultra hd, pay through giftcard
netflix will ask you to setup another payment method (CC/DB) just skip this and start plan with gift card

-when you start the plan with giftcard it lets you put in your australian mobile number

-go to support live chat, tell them you got a new debit card and you need help updating it, should get a secure form.

-cancel free trial of vpn. fin

HIGHLY RECCOMEND USING HIDE MY ASS VPN, tried expressvpn, nordvpn, windscribe none of them works anymore.

    • Did similar but mine is purely just by gift card now (didn't bother adding debit card), which I don't mind as I then don't need to worry about when my debit card expires and I have to go through the whole thing again

    • But you would end up paying less using those banks without international transaction fees like Macquarie and Citibank. So why using CBA?

    • Did you use the VPN to talk to live chat and or complete the secure form?

      • I dont know if it matters but I had my vpn on since i went straight to live chat after restarting my membership to complete the form.

  • +1

Tried using HMA VPN from Turkey and seemed to work successfully.

    Let account expire.
Login to Netflix- screen to restart membership appears
    Connected VPN
Click restart membership. Plans in TL are shown.
    Select premium plan for 41.99TL.
Checks payment method (I already had ING card saved) confirmed ok.
Asked to use mobile number for password recovery I future.
    General usage survey bits.
    Success.

Hopefully the payment withdrawn is correct moving forward!
Edit:can see successful withdraw on card for $7.48
