WalkingPad - Folding Compact Treadmill

Hi All!

Anyone have any hot tips for finding one of these for a decent price?

https://www.lifespanfitness.com.au/products/lifespan-fitness…

They seem to sell through a lot of websites but the items is always $799 + about $45 - $50 to ship it. I'd love to save a bit of money if anyone has any tips?

TIA

Do what a true Ozbargainer would do and save that $850 and go outside… you can't get any cheaper than free! ;-D

Normally I'd agree. But winter is hard and I plan to use this in the home office setup to pair with a standing desk.

I also plan to use it while watching dreadful television shows which I cannot do outdoors because the public must never know the garbage I consume!

It isn't winter any more, and you should have nice weather (in SA) for the next 6 months.
Using one of these at a stand up desk when working sounds very difficult to combine with work.

Same as DannyC, I recommend walking outside. Work it in with your tv schedule (if you must), or catch-up when you get back.

  • There's always a few for sale on Gumtree.

You just need some pliers to pry the teeth out of the front of it.

    • Not in my state - and the ones that are for sale are only $100 or so off. I'd much rather pay for new and have the associated protections.

Not a big fan of Gumtree to be honest… too many crimes happen connected to it!

  • A guy at work had one, he used it for a few months then stopped. I think the novelty wears off and he did say that it was kind hard to use it and concentrate on work at the same time.

    • I guess time will tell. I completely agree with some tasks it won't be practical. But with others (my work requires quite a lot of reading for example) it should work just fine.

My step count since working at home is not as good as I'd like. Getting it up even 30% will be good for me.

Nice option - thanks! I was hoping for one that folded but this might just do!

      • Did you get one? Any feedback? Also looking for a walkingpad for standing desk and while watching sports.

        • Hi - I have not as yet. Still hoping to but got busy at work and with life in general and have not gotten around to researching enough.

I think we are likely to now go for the LifeSpan fitness option, the reviews are much better and I like how well it folds more than the cheaper options.

Since Mr PH will use it too for inside runs when the weather is bad (which we've had a bit of lately) we might go with the option that goes faster.

For me alone their base model would have been sufficient for the standing desk and watching (very bad) reality television!

          • @PugHugger: I like the LifeSpan fitness model too. It is a re-badge of the Kingsmith WalkingPad A1 Pro which has good reviews like you said.

            • @clippers: hey @PugHugger @clippers,
Did you end up buying one? I am too planning to get one.

    OOPS - I think I have replied twice :|

  • I'm a bit embarrassed to say I did not get one! I've just been sitting on my butt watching bad television… this has inspired me to reconsider those choices though.
