GTX 650 Ti Upgrade Suggestion

I'm rendering a Lego Studio build atm and computer has slowed to a crawl. My 1GB GTX 650 Ti just isn't cutting the mustard it seems.
Even typing this is lagging.

Any suggestions on a new card for $200 or so?

Thanks

Could try a 1050Ti that should have similar power and size - second hand prob $100 (don't buy the weird chinese counterfeits on Ebay)

    • Thanks. 2nd hand did pop into my head after I posted actually.

    • where do you see a 2nd hand 1050Ti for about $100?
Most on ebay are $150+, only few are sub $150

    • The rx 570 is the same price as a 1050ti but is much more powerful. Look up some comparisons on youtube. the gtx 1050ti is probably one of the worst cards on the market.

  • Can't help with the card but the mention of Lego brought me here. Might as well say, 'Hi'. đź‘‹

Hi back. Doing a War of the Worlds MOC at present. What about you ?

      • Just building Lego Art. The Ultimate Iron Man.

A War of the Worlds MOC will be awesome!

AMD RX 570 or a brand new GTX 1650 SUPER for sub $200 price point.

    Even typing this is lagging.

Might want to double check your temps, recommend you (run HWinfo and monitor the temperatures and see if anything is thermal throttling.

    • Will do.
I did go into Task Manager performance tab and 3D was bouncing around 100%.

    • Temps hitting low 50s but GPU usage 100%

    3090

    • Nah mate, we're heading out of winter, he doesn't need a space heater.

  • Thanks, went an RX570

    • Get This RX570 as mentioned in the above comment, it is epic hour at shopping express and they have the RX570 for $179 which is a great deal and would be a much needed upgrade over your GTX 650Ti

  • Damn it!
Seems like Studio only supports Nvidia GPU rendering, the new AMD is sitting idle and the CPU is maxed.
And just to rub salt into the wound the new Thermaltake case I bought to put it all in is crap :-(

    • Can you return your amd gpu?

      • Yeah, just have to suck up the $70 change over for an equivalent nV card.

  • You should be able to score a used GTX 1650 or GTX 1650S for a decent price. I feel they are the best bang for the buck cards now for moderate gaming.
