Greetings everyone, just spotted that JB have placed the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G 128gb on promotion on their $99 Per Month 150gb Plan.

Considering that this plan has a $594 Early Termination Charge, you could essentially get the phone for $594 (+pro-rated first month charge) if you cancelled the plan early :)

Seems like an awesome deal for a brand new phone which is $799 on the Samsung Education store.

The 5G variant is also available for $149 Upfront.

I believe this may also be eligible for free Samsung Galaxy Buds Live too. May need to confirm with the store staff when ordering, the advertisement doesn't include this, however the bonus has been eligible on JB deals in the past.

  • I have an existing number with Telstra which has an etc if 216 dollars . If I set up a new Telstra number to get the offer , can I then speak to chat and ask them to cancel the existing service, pay the 216 and move the number to the new service? As the s20 fe is not dual Sim.

  • I cancelled the plan on the same day I got the deal on Friday, but still don't have the ETC bill. I hit up live chat and they said it should be on my next billing period which ends on 8th, and I should get the invoice around 12th/13th Nov.

    Just in case anyone else is still waiting to get their bill, it wasn't instant for me.

  • Just got a S20 FE with Free Buds this morning. Juts wonder when should I cancel the Telstra plan that is new number? And how ? Do I need to register Telstra account first. And then cancel from there ? What reason you use for cancelling the plan, Thanks !

    • If you download the MyTelstra app and are using a telstra sim, the app automatically logs you in as that Telstra service number (sim card) you are using. You can use the chat on the app.

    Guys i bought JB/Telstra deal this morning at 9:30 am and signed a contarct everything. Now i was thinking to cancel my contract but now i have seen this Does this deal mean the 5G is now $0? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/573382. Do u think i better first ask JB Hi fi to issue refund on phone as now the same phone is on offer at a cheap price? I paid them $150 for 5G version 128Gb and guy hide with me even what is etc if i cancel it before 12 months.
    Also price that time was still $1149 now same day it changes to $999.

    Do u guys think JB HIFI should offer me refund?

    • All depends on store management.

      Here in WA stores are still open now whilst over east closed and updated website for new pricing, so you can sneak into a WA store and straddle the deals ending today and the new pricing that just come in from over east update.

      • Can they do it over the phone? I am in Adelaide and stores are already closed. I was in the store this morning when i bought this deal but in the evening saw this on special. Not sure if i ask them to refund the difference, will they do it as its not even 12 hours since i bought that?

                • @Sunny10: JB won't know if you cancelled the contract because your Telstra plan is not referenced on the receipt and they don't have access to that info. Mine was cancelled by Telstra this evening through the live chat on the Telstra app (no need to register for an account). Say that you don't need a second phone number and you haven't used the SIM, and if they keep pushing you to return to the store for a refund, say that it can't be returned.

                  If they somehow find the contract isn't active, run!! Lol, they won't and you can walk away because the early termination is completely legal.

                      @Sunny10: Just say you're rich, don't care for refunds and are willing to pay the $600.
                      Extra excuses: no reception in your area, can't return the plan to JB.

                          @Sunny10: I got told the bill would be emailed in 48-72 hours. Telstra can't make up their mind.

                          Yes I got the 5G and paid $150 upfront.

                          Also, I phoned my store and they said I would not be refunded the difference between the old plan and new plan unless I returned the Buds, because the phone is no longer sold with free Buds. Not worth it because the Buds are worth more than the $150 refund. So much for a "promotion"! They removed the promotion then discounted the phone the next day!! Scam artists.

                            • @Sunny10: $595.60, the email came through. Will be billed on 16 November. For some reason I got another email last night saying that I have to pay a $99 bill for the first month when I cancelled the plan.in just over 24 hours of signing up at JB. I'll have to question that.

                                • @Sunny10: Not sure. On the early termination charge bill, it lists the first day of the plan as costing $3, so I shouldn't be charged $99. They probably made a mistake and didn't realise I had cancelled yet.

    Managed to get the 5G with buds for $50 instead of $149 today on the $99 plan. Good deal.

        Not sure why, but when I walked in with a mate, they said they'd be able to do the 5G for $1050 with $1000 GC.

        Limited colours tho, had to be pink or white phone and bronze buds.

    • Not many available now. I'm waiting for Samsung to get stock for their silicone case, or you can buy it from MobileZap along with the Olixar glass screen protector.

      Managed to get a case for JB for 30, discounted from 40. Pretty good quality.
