Recommend Me a Monitor - Sub $300, Almost Exclusively Work Use

Hi,

I'm hoping to improve my knowledge of monitor tech as it's been far too long between drinks.

I'm after a monitor for my study to be a second screen. It will be used exclusively for work (Excel/ppt/to a lesser extent PowerBI dominate my time). Hoping to keep the price under $300.

Also a bit uncertain of the differences between IPS and LCD - from what I understand IPS more faithfully represents colours but given I won't be watching movies/doing graphic design etc wondering if I can get away with an LCD.

Screen size 27 at max.

Thanks!

    • I got the 24in equivalent of this monitor when it was last on sale. Just got it on Friday, and I have to say it's very good. Much better than the benq I had prior.

  • Thanks for the links, I can keep an eye on them come Black Friday.

Any particular reason why IPS over LCD? Is that just the prevalent technology nowadays?

  • Dell S2721D, just wait for it to go on sale

    • The S series is supplied with Dell's cheapest, least adjustable stand. Screen itself is fine.

      • I prefer that, like my Dell S2721DGF stand is still wrapped in the box, if you run 3 or more monitors having a normal stand takes up too much space
