I recently just bought an apartment unit and received my first bill from Sydney water. Funny thing is, the late payment is stated as $0.00 with interest of 0% per year.
Is this norm or just a Covid19 special situation?
Just wondering if anyone else is seeing this as well in their bill.
Call them tomorrow and insist that the interest rate be adjusted to normal levels.
Why? The interest rate is 0% and $0 late payment fee.. Am I missing info that you know about?

NSW GOV takes action to relieve financial pressure of every household. Many may already find that the bill is about $20 less per quarter since July.
Thus, it is not surprising to see 0% interest/no late fee.
Ask for an interest rate reduction
It's 0%
If it's 0% then put off paying your water for as long as possible and invest that money in the meantime. Wait until the council is just about to drag you to court, then cash out your investment, pay your water, and keep the profits.
That was what I was thinking. Not that I can't pay it off.. It won't be a ozbargainer of me if I don't see the potential of not paying it at due date. . Haha.

PayPal recommended, no card fee.
