I was able to get a barcode to claim a packet of chips at any Woolworths store (except for Woolworths Online, MetroGo, and Metro stores) between 21st October, 2020 and closing time on 3rd November, 2020.

    Give them some time to think and sync.
    As mentioned above, the promo and the company, not McCain but the company running the promo for McCain, seem to be legit. The company is located in Melbourne and today is public holiday. So probably we have to wait till next week to see some changes in the situation.

    Staff confirmed that the chips barcodes are not working at Woolworths stores nationally.

    Didn't work for me.

    Staff refused to honour the offer without the barcode working.

    No solution offered - or any indication as to when they would be working, if at all.

    Left me feeling like a chip-starved seagull on a hot tin roof outside a Maccas overflowing with teenagers stuffing themselves with chups.

    Didn't scan. My local has them on sale for $2, so not really worth any hassle.

    The manager read the email and let me take them (which was nice), but I would have understood if she didn't.

    Just picked up a bag at Brighton, SA.

    Scanned for $4 at the self-checkout, scanned the barcode from my phone, it even said enjoy your free product (how nice is that)?

    Maybe it’s been fixed or only works on the Extra Cripsy variety which wasn’t available at Marion (there’s a few different Pub Style chips/wedges).

    No 'Extra Crispy' variant at my local Woolies. I beleive the offer is valid only for this variant, right? I saw some other usual fries of McCain thrown over randomly in the freezer, probably someone had tried and it failed to give the offer.

        Barcode scanned… I could see the barcode listed with $0.00 and nothing else. 3 different attendants looked and said words to the effect of ' I don't know anything about it'.

        End result… taste of bitterness with no crispy carbs, and wondering why McCains would want to have their brand tainted by such a shitty failed marketing campaign.

    It worked for me this afternoon - scanned the item at a self-serve checkout, then the barcode, and voilà!
    Double check you've got the exact 'Extra Crispy' variety and you should be good to go.

    Yes, most peeps who are reporting the Barcode doesn't work are trying the usual 'Pub Style Fries' product.

    Went to 2 Woolies today - 1st was out of stock, 2nd had plenty of stock. Stock levels on the Woolies website wasn't accurate. I tried scanning the barcode on my phone at the self-serve checkout but it wouldn't work. The staff had to manually enter the barcode for it to work.

    Barcode didn't work and I got the checkout chick to enter the code manually and it worked! So the moment it doesn't work, tell them to enter the code manually. Good luck peeps.     I haven't been able to pick mine up either - have tried three WW stores, all with this product showing as in stock, but the only variety they had was the McCains Pub Style Wedges. They even had stickers on the freezer doors promoting the Pub Style varieties, but there wasn't even a space on the shelves for the Extra Crispy variety.
