Not even really sure why I need one, but I ordered one. Starting to get a bit of a collection of PXC gear now…

  • Can the batteries from the trimmer work on this?

  • +1

Is it worth getting if you have the bosch set anyway?

    • I'm in the same boat. Definitely don't need it but so many good prices come up on Ozito 18V stuff….might get the $99 hammer drill just for the batteries and charger essentially.

      • +2

Just bought this one as I bought the trimmer set which came with the battery anyway

    • Yes

    • yeh same boat, kinda wish I went with the ozito family. Soo many skins and much cheaper and their quality is actually quite decent

  • +2

    Didn’t need. Got 1

  • I've got the brushed version. Pretty happy with it. Is it worth getting the brushless?

    • +1

      Meh… Got one anyway.
      Curse you OZB!

Gonna be a whole bunch of brushed impact drivers on Gumtree next week ;)

  • Anyone else having trouble checking out?

  • Great find! Love their brushless products, built a 100sqm deck using their drill/impact drill and mitre saw

  • Used this for my fence. Lots of torque to force in the screw

  • Finally, i had bought the trimmer and was hoping this goes on sale.

  • +1

What drill bits set do i need with this? I know this is mainly for driving screws but around the house in plaster board walls, it should work ok?

    • You need the quick release type impact bits with a notch in the end. It won't hold normal hex bits.
Aldi sometimes has good/cheap drill bit sets in their special buys.

If you just want to mount something onto a wall, into the studs, then an impact driver would be fine, as long as you're not too trigger happy.

If you're talking about installing plasterboard then I wouldn't use an impact driver. You'll go straight through it! A drill driver would be better to give you the control needed for plasterboard screws. Go a step further and get a proper plasterboard bit with the dimple head. https://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-1-4-ph2-plaster-insert-bit…

      • Thanks

      • Hi, just back off your comment, i bought this driver also, and was just wondering which drill and bits to buy. Can you recommend a kit to purchase for general DIY around the house.

i was looking at https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-56-piece-impact-drilling-a… or which set to buy from the upcoming aldi sale https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-14-…

        • +2

If you can stretch to get the Ryobi set that looks like the way to go, because I assume the drill bits have been made for impact drivers, so they "should" be stronger. You can easily snap a drill bit with an impact driver if you hit something unexpected.
From the Aldi sets the Bit and Socket Set 35pc looks good, comes with the standard hex adapter and will be fine for lots of different jobs, but the Aldi drill bits aren't going to work in the quick release style impact driver chuck.

          • @stuckster: Thank you very much, very informative cheers

  • What about the circular saw i need one as well.

This deal perfect timing i really needed one.

    • I have the circular saw and a mate the equivalent from Aldi. They're broadly comparable performance-wise but in the end I went and bought the DeWalt version and it's just way better.

To be fair, for things like 10mm ply the Ozito/Aldi will be fine but if you're cutting a kitchen benchtop they just stall whereas the DeWalt ploughs through with zero issue.

      $$$ vs performance.

I suspect that the impact driver will be fine though as frankly you don't need much torque for most jobs.

  • +1

Noon question, I have the battery already for this. Do I need to buy any other attachment for it to work on screws? The photo on the box suggests some separate attachment is needed.

    • You'll only need a battery, a charger, and impact drive bits which are stronger than normal bits.

      • Importantly, the impact drive bits have the notch in the end for the quick release chuck. It won't hold normal hex bits.

  • +2

hi guys stupid question, but this doesn't come with a battery nor charger right?

what should i recommend to get for the other parts? or should i buy the $99 one?

    I am a fool sorry :'(.

    • Would like to know as well. Are there any cheaper compatible batteries or chargers to get?

    • +1

$99 one is a hammer drill, this is an impact driver. Different tools. If you don't have any drills I'd suggest the hammer drill as your first tool.

  • When does this deal end any ideas ??

  • Damn bought a week ago and barely used

    • +2

Purchase another and return with original receipt. It's the OzB way!

      • does that work

        • Sure does. There's no serial number on the receipt so as long as it's the same item, all gravy

  • Also if we buy online do we get priority over people who rush to stores first thing in the morning?

    • No it doesn’t look like it….

    • Only time I've click and collected was with the Bosch deal and people got them off the shelf before stock was allocated to online orders that had already been placed.
They did follow up with my order and arranged a courier to grab one from another store and deliver it to me though, so no complaints.

      • Yep that’s what i was told and paid for it, next phone call said no stock and we’ll have to refund,I said you told me there was one for me…
Anyway still waiting for next deal hopefully I’ll snag myself a set. Not holding my breath tho.

        • +1

Yea all in stock in Altona online last night.

Went in just now even though online is out of stock and bought 2.

Had 7 on shelf so appears in store is always best if you really need them

          • @VeryCheap: Get in quick. Only 1 impact driver, and 3 hammer drill kits left in Altona store at 7.10am

            • @Townstevo: Ye I got 2 first thing already.

What i was saying online was in stock last night and not at 5am this morning all out of stock.

Went in store since prio goes to walks ins.

              • @VeryCheap: I was just updating ur post :)
I understood what you meant, which is why I went and picked up my click and collect order at 7am. I managed to get the second last impact driver, so thanks for that. I might have missed out if I waited for my order from last night to fill.

              • @VeryCheap: Why do you bother getting two? Spare? Gift?

                • +1

@dufflover: I always grab 2 on these specials. I always give 1 to the old man since he's not tech savvy.

He prob doesn't need it but I'm sick of him doing bodgies when there are proper tools to make his life easy

          • @VeryCheap: Well I’ll be darned ,I just received a message stating i need to collect it. Now i need a battery and charger lol
            2 years in the making…😂
Im usually a Makita fan but i was looking at buying a Dewalt kit if it came on special…

            Thankyou OP

    • Was at my local store this morning (8:30am) and no units left on the shelf. The guy told me they had all been picked for C&C orders. So depends on how diligent the staff are I would presume.

  • +1

I don't know why but I bought one. O OzBargain, why do you do this to me? :(

  • +1

I promised myself not to waste anymore money on most likely superfluous tools considering I've got an AEG Hammer and Ryobi Impact that don't look like dying anytime soon. Yet to use the grass trimmer, yet to even open the jet blower box lol.
… but $39 for a brushless impact driver is hard to ignore. (Haven't given in, yet)

(I'd prob still spend more on a "branded" drill though, build quality matters much more

  • Do you think i can swap rims with this tool? Is it strong enough?

    • you should use an impact gun for this. I think you're the 3rd person who's asked but I use the ozito brushless one and it's fine.

Just use an impact socket too.

      • impact gun

I like it. When you mix impact wrench with the old school rattle gun terminology

        • I like it. When you mix impact wrench with the old school rattle gun terminology

I picked it up off an old friend who was an ex-mechanic. He'd either say "impact" or "impact gun". I also picked up the term ugga dugga off him too.

          • +1

@Kranbone: "Anyone know the torque specs for these bolts?"
            "2 ugga duggas mate!"

  • Thanks OP ordered 1

  • No hopes for impact wrench. Havent seen it on discount.. 😔

  • Can some one share the link for this brushless impact driver. I couldn't find it on bunnings website.

  • 4 left on the shelf at Artarmon.

  • rang local bunnings that i had click n collect with …..seems they open 6:30 am ……they picked order and ready for pickup ……. so it seems they don’t wait until later in the day to pick off the shelf and risk walk ins get your shelf stock before picked…..must be with covid in melbourne they have refined click n collect.

    • What's the price in-store ? Shows $99 now on website.

      • It's not on the website….Shows as $39 on the page with the entire drill range but the item page has been pulled.
        The brushed kit is $99

    • Doubt it. Altona sold out online and I went in 7 on shelf

  • Damn looks like i missed out. Page is gone. I was trying to add to click and collect from a few different stores and it wouldn't let me, now it's gone.

  • yes they have pulled the page for this and the drill set too.
I wonder if they are still the discounted price in store?

    • +2

Yes they are still scanning at the discounted price. Bought one each a few minutes ago

      • Thanks Trev - I am trying to get away to get one myself

  • I managed to order one last night but got a refund sms this morning :(

  • +2

Lots of people overrating drill drivers in this thread because of what they've read online. I own both the Ozito PXC Brushless Drill Driver and the Ozito PXC Brushless Impact Driver; The impact driver has been able to drill literally everything that the drill driver has been able to.
I honestly wonder if I need the drill driver at all to be honest, like I guess it has variable settings for when the chuck kicks in, and it has 2 speeds… it's also handy to not have to buy hex drill bits (to fit the impact driver) but outside of that, they basically achieve the same thing.

Go the drill driver + impact driver combo if you're going to use it a fair amount (i.e. any room renovations) but if you're just needing a drill to screw the odd thing into a wall and drill the odd hole or 2, you could get by absolutely fine with the impact driver on its own in my opinion, as long as you buy hex bits for it.

  • I just went to nearest store and grabbed one. Tuggernong Canberra They still have 2 available

  • $49 now???

    • If you're talking about this one, that's the brushed version. Pretty sure that's the regular price? It's the brushless that's discounted.

  • Sold out at Prospect SA. I got the last one

  • Click and collect ready (Syd metro). I'm impressed!

  • Have been waiting for aldi to do their deal so bunnings will match. Going to be a big step down from the dewalt impact driver I borrowed though :(

  • Am I the only one getting redirected and can't find the brushless version anymore? Tempted to just walk to my nearest store and hope…

    • +1

No, lots of comments about it being pulled from the website. Call them up and get them to hold you one

      • +1

I ended up just driving in and grabbing one. Balgowlah store (NSW) had 4 when I left

      • ^^^THIS^^^

  • I got the Ozito impact driver at the start of this year and love it. Makes putting together IKEA furniture a million times quicker! The impact mechanism is also great for removing stubborn screws.

    • You must be very careful with the trigger, these normally would make a mess of ikea furniture

      • I've done this plenty of times in the past with flat-pack furniture without problem. I even used an angle grinder to zip off the short end of an Allen key so I could use the long one in the drill. The trick is to ensure the torque is waaaaay down low so you don't accidentally overtighten things, even for the camlocks. Then, manually go over all the fasteners again and cinch them up by hand to make everything snug.

  • missed out on this deal

    • +1

Call them up and get them to hold you one or go in and pick one up. They're not listed online but there's still stock around.

      • +1

Thank for the heads up got the last one in store

  • Does anyone know what's going on with the pxc range ? Simple things like the reciprocating saw aren't showing up on the website and are cleared out at some stores. Is there a new range coming?

    • +1

Looks like anything being matched to Aldi is getting pulled.
(they have the recip saw special buy on)

      • has bunnings put the recip saw on sale too? do you know how much?

    • Recip saw is still showing up for me? $55…when does Aldi have it on sale? I think it usually drops just under $40

      • You just missed the recipricating saw. Last week or the week before. $49 at Aldi (brushless), $45 Bunnings (brushed).

  • Cheap

  • +2

Well, good news for Click and Collect buyers. Went to my local Bunnings this morning at about 8:30am and no units left on the shelf. The guy told me they had all been picked for C&C orders.

    • Great to see.

    • Just collected my order C&C. Sweet.

  • None left Kent Town SA

  • There is 1 left at Dandenong VIC store as of 9:25am. It show $99 at store but scan came up as $39

  • Coffs Harbour have quite a few. Still marked as $99 but scan correctly at $39. Just make sure the checkout lady knows what she is doing as mine scanned it incorrectly and I had to argue with her and ended up getting someone else to put it through. Sigh.

  • I’m not sure I’m going to buy into the Ozito system but i have a bit of screwing to do…

What size battery and charger would you guys recommend…

    Thankyou.
