Looks like they're matching the Optus One deal and it's $10 cheaper per month.

Plan will be $55pm for 12mths then $65 after.

This can also be added to selected Phones as well. I checked the new iPhones and the bonus data is available for the duration of how long you set the repayment period of the handset for.

500GB Data per month (10Mbps slower speed after data exceeded.) This can also be shared with other Infinite and Plus plans.
Unlimited Calls & Txt

I’m tempted but I recently activated boost prepaid for a year .. can i transfer that to another number and port my number to vodafone?

    • +1

the answer is no, but depends on the phone you are using or going to get, you can always obtain a new number and utilise it on a dual sim phone (recent iphones have eSIM inbuilt and telcos can provide you an eSIM as long as you are on post paid)

  • Optus is still better value since it has 5G and can use data pool, which means u can save the cost from crap NBN

    • Sorry should've mentioned that this can be shared with other plus and infinite plans on the same account.

    • This also gives access to 5G as Vodafone builds out their network

      • Just jumped to Vodafone website check their 5G coverage.

They actually just started to roll out 5G towers, which optus and Telstra have been working on since 2years ago.

To use 5G signals for most vodafone consumers, I believe there is still long way to wait at least 1 year.

        • Yeh i dare say it was even before that, but thier solution was heavily relient on Huawei equipment which got banned for use here in Aus, they did stop the roll-out for a while which is why they are a year maybe more behind Telstra and Optus.

  • If only you can finish using that amount of data with a slow network…

    • +3

Not for everyone but it's there for people who can use it :)

      • -2

2010 wants it's network speed back.

    • +1

Fast in metro in my experience. I get over 200mbps on voda 4G where i live. Granted beyond the burbs it is poor.

  • -2

    Not sure why you put,
"10Mbps slower speed after data exceeded."
This plan max speed is 10mbps

    • +3

      It's 10Mbps after using 500GB.

Max Speed and infinite data explained
Once you’ve used your Max Speed data, you can use infinite data at speeds of up to 2Mbps, 10Mbps or 25Mbps depending on your chosen plan.

Max Speed is the fastest speed the Vodafone network can deliver to your phone at the time and place you’re using data. You can share Max Speed data with other Vodafone Infinite Plans and Plus Plans.

      • Awesome, thanks for your clarification, Looks like should give a try, good alternative for NBN, can we use it in a modem?

  • "Tethering permitted"…
So, you can hotspot your phone but not use the SIM in a modem?
    Anyone know?

    • +2

You can apparently put the sim in a modem. This was confirmed by an associate (as far as they know) on a previous deal
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/577535

    • When you put it in a modem you are effectively planning to use it as home internet. I assume they wouldn't care unless you were abusing the fair use policy.

    • +2

I'm sure it's fine as long as you're not using it to seed torrents 24/7.

    During off-peak hours (like 10am), I could get 50Mbps.
    In the evening, 1Mbps.

And their support channels are terrible.

Other than that, everything is good. I like the idea of 10Mbps limit, not like Optus where you have to play $10 per GB

    • +1

This:Optus where you have to play $10 per GB is what I dislike Optus. It is 2020, treating customers like Sh*t..

    • I've experienced similar with Telstra, during work day in the afternoon.

Looks like all the 4G connections have generous quota and get congested during peak time. Reminiscent of the 3G to 4G switchover era when U could only get reasonable speed when moving to next gen. Might be Telco's standard ploy to encourage ppl to move onto next gen

Very good deal, I got 100mbps DL indoor for Vodafone in my area

    • good for you…

  • decisions decisions…was going to get the optus but this seem better value. and better if I can put into a 4g wifi dongle. 5g doesn't bother me because I don't get it where I am… yet. Also found this in their CIS, "Tethering permitted to personal devices only, but must not be used in a modem or as a substitute for a home internet service. ". Can anyone confirm if it works in a 4g wifi dongle?

    • Optus 65 plan for sure . The roaming service and 5G are well worth the extra 10 bucks

Just jumped to Vodafone website check their 5G coverage.

They actually just started to roll out 5G towers, which optus and Telstra have been working on since 2years ago.

To use 5G signals for most vodafone consumers, I believe there is still long way to wait at least 1 year

      • Depending how much data you use overseas and how long you're overseas - you get to use your whole 500GB for $5/day.

If we can travel overseas anytime soon….

        • +1

100GB the actual usage in Australia - International
400GB is the bonus data that can be used in Oz only

Vodafone is good for those need to work overseas occasionally, you get a overseas sim card for receiving call and use your vodafone sim for data and oz connection.

  • I wonder whether Telstra or someone else will come out with something better.

  • +1

in ryde vodafone 4g is virtually non existent - i switched off telstra to allow me to port back in after a month via jb but after a week i think i'm about ready to even jump on boost/optus

  • Does anyone know what modem can be used for data as alternative to NBN? I searched briefly and B818 should support the network.

  • This is a serious NBN replacement option.
less $$ for reasonable GB limit, no contract. worth considering.

  • They remove this plan for sim only. You can not sign up with a phone. Pity

  • How would they know if I bought it for wifi replacement?

  • The problem is when are we going to see 5g dongles?

    Why are these modems so expensive? $200+ v $30 for a dongle…

  • Is there any good deal on iphone 12 pro or iphone 12 pro max with low ETC? Thanks

  • Some stores have $1 g8 back on as there is stock again according to th sales person

  • Signed up today thanks OP

  • Is anyone using this deal as their main internet service? Any insights?

    • +1

I'm using it as my place NBN is crap and tried Optus 4g. This is better than Optus 4G. I usually get 150mbps down and 20-25 up.

      • Thanks, is the SIM in a modem? What type? Ta

  • Yes I use in modem b818. However, it also works well with B525.
