Lowest price I think plus free shipping HOWEVER this is 120V I think so you will need to convert voltage not sure of that extra cost.

No interest in buying this but wouldn’t this be free delivery for everyone as the price of this item is over $39?

This is not a deal, 120v audio gear over power converter is not worth using.

Unless you already have a step down converter

        Converters degrade audio quality.

        • Can you provide some kind of evidence of that?
Using a 240v -> 120v iron core transformer of adequate size should have no effect on the resulting audio quality.

          • @virtual81: If they had the tools then you could measure the degradation of power quality. However most ordinary people (don't self delare themselves as audiophiles) wont notice the difference.

Most modern circuitries have the tolerance built in to clean the power (usually through capacitors), also most amplifiers have a Transformer already inside, so it already does the step down once, no speakers run at 240v or 110v, they usually run a lot lower voltage, so they often include a stepdown.

            • @lplau: Agreed that it's totally dependant on the exact equipment. Subs are usually completely analogue (no DAC as the receivers does that) so are more vulnerable to electrical noise.

The issue is usually in the frequency change and not the voltage though. Gear designed for the states is 110v 60hz AC. Australia is 240v 50hz. A basic step down transformer will fix the voltage but it doesn't change the frequency. Hence the resulting humming. Like you said though, most digital gear can run on either.

It's a bargain. You'll get free Bzzzzzzzzzzzzz and snap crackle pop with your audio!

        • I'm using a pioneer elite range AV receiver through a step down and don't hear any of those artefacts when powering a 7.2ch B&W speakers.

Maybe different to powering a subwoofer as the amp in that is more rudimentary.

    • Not to mention a decent transformer will probably cost more than the saving on the sub (or more than the whole sub).

There's no point buying active gear if you need to pay more to drive it.

  • How can I connect this to a Raspberry Pi?
    Optical cable?

    • You need a hifi deck or AV receiver.

What if you bought two? Can you wire them up in series lol

    • Sure, you'll get twice the bang when you switch them on.

  • Shows as "+ $151.24 Delivery" for me? (I'm a Prime member)

Sorry my bad, wasn't logged in on mobile.

  • Any suggestions for an alternative with similar specs to this one?
