Heyo, Dell Black Friday deals are back, have the S2721Q and the S2721QS (height adjustable variant). Both at their cheapest prices ever. Both monitors are the same 4k UHD and confirmed to have HDCP 2.2. The difference between them is QS has a much more versatile stand, whilst the Q only has tilt(not an issue if you vesa mount). For this deal we have 1100 units on the Q and 1400 units on the QS.

    Three days ago, I got an email saying my order is on it's way - expect it in 5-10 days.

    Today I get another email that the order eta is now 22 Jan 2021.

    Did the ship carrying it sink? Did the train derail? Did the truck fall off the Harbor Bridge? Did they give it to fastway to disappear/deliver?

    I got the same email as well but based on my experience from a previous purchase about 2 months ago that this is not reliable. I even got an email for a survey about the service as the survey system thought that it has already been delivered but the delivery system actually changed the date. The actual delivery then arrived earlier than what’s stated in the Dell website. I’m still hoping that Limaaa is right. :)

    After my last post I got a notification with an order and tracking number with 20th December as the date (which is also far beyond the 10th of December promised in this ad)

    Now I get an official Dell email saying it’s delayed to 23rd January

    How is this possible?

    You said you had stock and limited numbers to meet the sales demand. This seems very bait and switch.

    I purchased based 100% on the promised delivery date. This is a Christmas present that’s now proposed to arrive end of January?!?!

    Not good enough!!!

    Hey guys. Regarding the shipping eta, my general advice is to ignore it. Dell automatically dispatches eta updates based on global stock levels, not factoring in units already secured for these deals.

    I actually contacted Dell on the weekend to get precise information to pass over to you guys, but please understand that most departments do not work weekends and I need to wait until Monday to get information. I should have an update for you guys later today, which I'll respond to this comment with more information as soon as I have it.

    For those feeling like I'm ignoring you, No not at all haha, I'm just going through a break up right now which is never easy, If I had anything reliable to respond with I would, but please understand you're not the only person contacting me, I have so many DM and I'll respond to them all as soon as I have an update.       Update: For all of you who have received delayed eta notices, these can be ignored. I've spoken to Dell and all shipments from this deal are on track for their expected delivery ETA as specified in OP. Sorry for the stress, it's an automated eta system that doesn't account for deal specific eta. Cheers guys.

    Everyone getting emails about ETA but I haven't received anything since the BF sale. All I've got is an email from eBay about the purchase confirmed. The order ID from the eBay email doesn't work for Dell status update, it just says invalid order number. Does this mean my order hasn't been process yet? Has anyone else not received anything from Dell?

        I was never given a star track tracking number. The tracking number provided by Dell on EBay will include a link to star track which will appear after your monitor is dispatched.

    Do they get dispatched in order of placing the order or location based?
    I placed my order in probably the first 30-40 secs once the deal went live and delivery is in Melbourne.

    Dell trackers still shows shipping date as 7/12 and delivery by 11/12. But this hasnt changed yet and no further updates on ebay tracking either.
    I am happy to wait till 20/12 but just wondering how these bulk orders are processed.

      I ordered the QS at around 9PM AEST. I live in Sydney and Startrack says it's onboard for delivery today (8th - Dec). As Limaaa's stated before, Sydney seem to get it quicker cause the warehouse is based around there.

      It sounds confusing with all the different dates but just trust Limaaa and see how it goes.

        I'm not sure about the Sydney deliveries will be quicker, I think, this is just pure luck. Mine still shows the revised shipping date of 18 Jan and no other info since the email came about the delay. (I also live in Sydney)

      If it has already been shipped, then track the order directly using StarTracks website. It will be more accurate. However the fact you have already shipped is good news, a lot of us (including me) are still 'In Production' with estimated shipping dates in late Dec / early Jan.

      I ordered this exact monitor in a previous sale in October from LiMaaa, and the Dell tracking was also completely wrong. In my experience, LiMaaa is always right, and if she said it will come by December 20th then it will!

    So guys I would like to know if the people who have received theirs did get a star track number via the dell online order tracking.

    Mine says this: Revised Ship Date: Jan 18, 2021

    However if I call dell and provide my order number the automated response system says its due 10 dec. If I actually speak to an agent they say there are no monitors left in the country and they won’t ship until mid January.

    Quite frankly If it doesn’t come by dec 20 I will be appalled. eBay has real time inventory. There is NO excuse whatsoever to sell more than stock was available for. Lets just hope this all a mistake and the items do arrive by the promised date.

    I also find the process of marking items posted on ebay when they clearly are not is very shady.
    The have an obligation to sell and actually ship items during the ebay returns window.

        Just a few posters above seemed to imply they received it but the star track info hadn’t been shown on the order page. (Probably just a case of them not checking the order page)

        I still think dell should revise their process and just ebay message the orderid info and the link page but not mark items in ebay posted until they have actually been dispatched.

          I totally agree. I did message them to ask when my order will be shipped and they replied with your order has been processed, so they are in on this deceptive communication.

          The Ebay noticed of dispatched actually included a message from Dell which explains how to track your order and inform you that it will be updated with a star track tracking number. However, I didn't fully read and fully absorbed the original message and just assumed that my order had actually been dispatched since I'm actually used to the dispatch notification actually meaning my order has been dispatched.

    I have a Dell Order Number and a link to ship it. The link doesn’t work and the order number (without the Dell words) doesn’t show anything in star track.

    Received this monitor a few days ago, but have been pretty disappointed.

    The monitor has terrible viewing angles, so much so that sitting smack bang in front of it and there are these big blurry edges on each side. Wasn't sure whether it was a defect (because I have never seen a monitor with this problem), but apparently it is a design choice. Is very distracting and forces use to the centre of the screen with the edges straining your eyes.

    Will be returning (such a pain)…

      Interesting research on your behalf. It's common for ips monitors to have vignette or backlight bleed. Some less noticeable than others. I don't have this monitor so I can't speak personally, but maybe someone else who received theirs can comment?

      I don't think it's a price range "feature", the s2721d is in this price range (I have this) and I notice no such issues. Could it be a 4k thing? Possibly, perhaps play with scaling and see if you notice this with no scaling or other scaling options? I'm curious if this is a panel specific outcome or perhaps just the qc on your specific monitor. Keep us updated, cheers.

        Yea will keep playing around with the settings but seems it is just an outcome of the anti-glare film used on these monitors.

        Seems the rtings tester also noticed it but didn't include it in their review.
        Our tester did notice a blurriness on the edge of the display when looking at it from an “inside” angle (as in if you look at the right bezel from the left). While this is fairly standard for every LCD display, it was much worse on this monitor than others.
        Overall we expect most people not to notice, but I wanted to confirm to you all that our tester did notice this too!

        Coming from an old Apple display with a gloss finish so I might just need to adjust. Other than the blur, the monitor is great for the price so thanks for the deal nonetheless!

        I own one of these monitors, and have never noticed this issue before. Now that I look at it, I guess I can see what op is talking about if I view the monitor from the side, but it's so minor I wouldn't even describe it as a defect and certainly not distracting for me. The issue disappears entirely when viewing the monitor straight on. Unsure if op simply has a sharper eye for detail then me, or if this issue is more pronounced on his model.

          After seeing comment below re the issue being more noticeable on bright white pages, I can confirm the same and notice the issue much more. I changed my mac from 'Dark' to 'Light' theme and can see it more clearly, where the very edges if the left and right have a slight blur, rather than having a straight cutoff.
          For me its so slight that it does not even encroach on the scroll bar, unless I view the monitor from an extreme side angle.
          Part of me wishes I never saw this comment because I had never noticed it before XD

            @Ilikeditthewayitwas: Yeah just got my monitor delivered today, and it has the same blurriness fading into dark on both side edges of the monitor, starting about 2cm from out from each edge. Definitely a lot more noticeable on lighter/white screens compared to dark, and more noticeable away from dead centre on.

            I only bought this monitor as a secondary monitor (technically 3rd now) so not a deal breaker for the price, but I definitely wouldn't keep it if it were my main monitor I think.

      I have two of these monitors and they are both the same, it doesn't bother me really, I thought maybe it was something to do with the anti glare film on the monitor.
