  • Ordered over a week ago, and only received confirmation of tracking today??? A grand total of about 15km from point to point.. Why so slow?!?!?!

    • +1

      Hi Maz78,

Apologies for the delay - we were inundated with orders (a lot more than anticipated) and consequently a few operational pieces on our end were pushed back.

Rest assured, all orders have been dispatched and via Sendle who have quick turnaround times.

If you have any other questions or concerns, you can email us direct here - [email protected]

Thanks and wishing you a great upcoming weekend :)

  • Has anyone got their beans yet?

I understand they were OzBargained and have emailed everyone to let them know there will be delays but just curious if they are getting through their backlog.

    • Hi sena86,

That's correct, we did get OzBargained!

We've started to see the first of the orders being delivered a few days ago and they are all on the road out to each and every one of you.

You should have your tracking info within an email sitting in your inbox.

If not, please email us at [email protected]

      Have a great afternoon :)

      • Like xaykogeki, mine is also stuck at "Awaiting the parcel at the drop off location" which was on 1/12. As advised, I've sent an email with my order number.

        • Hi sena86,

Thanks for your message - I’ve just notified our fulfilment team to get back to you as soon as they can.

          Appreciate your patience.

  • I got my tracking number on Tuesday, but it's still saying "Awaiting the parcel at the drop off location."

    Would this be correct?

    • Hi xaykogeki,

Are you able to shoot across a quick email to us including your order number? We’ll investigate on our end with the courier.

      Email is [email protected]

Thanks, wishing you a lovely day.

      • I sent an email yesterday so hopefully that would get responded soon :) Thanks

        • Fantastic, I’ll follow up with our fulfilment team and make sure they get back to you :)

  • +5

If I knew it was going to take this long I would not buy to be honest…

    • Hi godjerb,

      My apologies for the delivery.

We had far more orders than we anticipated, but I’m happy to report they are all on their way to you.

I ask for your patience, your coffee will be with you shortly.

Thanks for your support and have a great weekend ahead :)

  • Got my Brazil SO coffee today! Had problems with shipping too. Imo sendle has not been very good with their deliveries as compared to Auspost but was highly satisfied with the coffee!

    • Hi pullcounter,

      That’s great to hear!

Sorry to hear about your experience with Sendle, but I’m glad you’re loving the Brazil SO.

      Have a lovely weekend :)

  • I’m blaming Sendle but I was really hoping for delivery before this weekend as I need them Sunday.

    Edit to add:
    Hah, got a delivery estimate “Delivery estimate 08 Dec 2020 - 14 Dec 2020” I really hope it’s here before 14 December!!

    • Hi MrsJones,

My apologies your order has not arrived yet. We're a little concerned with how long Sendle are taking with their deliveries, and are investigating on our end.

Please send over an email to us with your order number and we can follow up with the courier - [email protected]

Thank you for your patience and wishing you a great weekend :)

  • Since 1st Dec my shipping order is
    Ready to Sendle
    Parcel order created.

I have about 4 days left of coffee, let's hope it comes in time.

    • Hi Kah,

Thanks for your message - that is quite odd, and my apologies that Sendle have not provided you with better tracking information.

If you can, send across an email to us at [email protected] with your order number and we'll investigate on our end.

Thanks, have a lovely day ahead :)

      • Yep I did last night. Well the sendle tracking email anyway

        • Hi Kah,

          Thank you for confirming that.

We're hoping Sendle can deliver these ASAP for you all.

          Thank you for your patience.

  • +2

Still nothing, so pretty not good overall. Order went into Sendle's vortex around the 1st and is now supposed to be arriving by the 10th. While I'm sympathetic because you've clearly just bitten off more than you can chew, it was a really terrible choice to then utilise the famously slow Sendle for an already-delayed process.

Like most people who care about their coffee I've always been happy to pay a little more for swift postage to ensure I get fresh beans. If I wanted bone dry beans that'd been sitting in a van for a week or more, I'd just have gone to the supermarket.

    • Hi IPYF,

My sincere apologies, and I fully appreciate your position.

We've opened up an investigation with Sendle to get to the bottom of this. My understanding is their network has been severely impacted by the sheer amount of sales over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend.

If I can ask for your patience during this time that would be so greatly appreciated.

If you do have any further issues or concerns, please email our team at [email protected] and we'll help out.

  • +1

Have the same issue as others with delivery it seems.
Julianm, you have been excellent with your communication and are very proactive, however Sendle looks like a terrible proposition.

    • Hi Ellioty,

Wow, I'm not sure why there is a diversion to Sydney via Brisbane.

I will take this as feedback and forward it through to the Sendle team to understand why this is the case.

My apologies that you are experiencing the same issues as other Ozbargainers - it certainly is not the experience we want to be providing with you all.

Please do keep us up to date, and if you experience any further issues please email our team at [email protected] and we'll jump on to assist.

      • Hi Julianm,

Thanks for replying. Again, i admire your dedication to customer service.

        Still no update from Sendle.
I wonder if the horse and cart they use for the Melbourne - Brisbane route can drop by Sydney with my coffee?

I have never experienced Sendle before and i will hopefully never have to again. As stated above by IPYF, with goods such as coffee, i would rather have the option to pay more to have it arrive as fresh as possible. At the current rate it will be 3 weeks after roast date when it arrives.

        • Hi Ellioty,

That's really valuable feedback, and I'm going to share this with the team internally as we review our entire operation to be better moving forward.

We're also opening up a conversation with Sendle to see what can be done with tracking updates, with more regular and frequent communications as we understand that's super important for all customers.

Again, we appreciate you patience, truly.

And if I can be of any more help, please reach out.

You can email our team direct too with any enquiries you may have - [email protected]

          Have a lovely day ahead.

          • @julianm: Update from Sendle - Parcel arrived at depot! No idea which depot but at least its something.
If its the Brisbane depot then it has taken 7 days to get there with a leg to Sydney still to come.

            Totally underwhelmed.

            • @Ellioty: Hi Ellioty,

I understand your frustration. Thanks for the update.

I'm really hoping it is delivered to you very soon.

Again, thank you for your patience, it's truly appreciated by all of us here at the Cue.

  • +1

    Mine arrived today.

Some feedback: I would rather wait until next roast rather than having the beans roasted on the 26th and sent on the 1st, with postage so slow these days (6 days for me, even worse for others above).

Maybe some option - arrive earlier or arrive fresher. Might be passable for a cafe where they'll go through them in a day, but even for me who goes through a kg in 3 weeks, half will be dead before I get to them going by the first pour. I've missed most of the lovely peak period.

    • +1

      Hi Janko,

Thank you for your honest feedback - that's really important for us to hear and I acknowledge your position 100%.

It's disappointing to see orders taking so long to get to their end location.

I'd love to hear what you think of the coffee itself, and perhaps any comments of your experience with our team?

Shoot them over at [email protected] - we're a busy centred around improvement for the customer so we'd love to find out where we can get better to be better for you all.

      Thanks so much.

      • Feel welcome to pass on what's typed here.

With online coffee ordering, shipping costs make anything less than 1 kg uneconomical. With 1 kg, you'll find yourself chucking out the last 1/3 if timing is out or unable to effectively freeze. I personally do like to get coffee as soon after roasting as it freezes better, but I do understand delaying delivery as people can blame the coffee when it's simply too fresh.

Bit early to tell re. the coffee - haven't worked out how to get the best out of it yet - any hints from the roasters welcome. This wasn't a bad extraction for your coffee on the day it arrived, but I really had to steam some milk for it. By the time I steamed the milk, it was purely black - no crema to be seen so I just didn't get that nice blend of steamed milk and crema.

        https://youtu.be/SFgIr1re9eI

This shot below was 4 days after roasting of another brand, and was delicious straight:

        https://youtu.be/ajma9z2Lb4M

The journey from 4 days is the interesting bit, but I'm starting at day 11 with Coffee on Cue.

You of course have been excellent - as I mentioned on a previous page I ordered because you were so attentive. But foremost we're purchasing coffee rather than customer service.

        • Hi Janko,

Really appreciate your feedback, and also going to the extra effort of recording your extractions. That's very helpful and insightful, and I'll pass on to our team.

I hear you, and as a team we are reviewing our entire fulfilment process so that when we experience an unexpected large volume of orders (as we did with this special), we can be better to deliver on time for you all.

I do hope you enjoy our blend, please reach out if you have any questions on getting the most out of your coffee. Always happy to help :)

  • Still nothing here
If they were in fact roasted on 26th… Probably best to put a Best Before date, rather than roasted date.

    • Hi albanyson,

I'm sorry to hear you're yet to receive your order - have you received your tracking details from Sendle?

If you have any questions or experience any further issues, please email our team at [email protected] and we'll help you out.

      • Nothing from sendle on email.
Australia Post tracking number said it wasn't posted till the 3rd.

        • Hi albanyson,

If you have a moment, can you send an email to us with your order number?

We'll chase it up with Sendle to track it down for you.

          Have a great day ahead.

          • @julianm: Still no delivery. And yes, I'll send email now.

Pretty disappointed and rather annoyed at same time.
Not a good experience with first order placed.

            Bit of a failure tbh

            • @Spending2Much: Hi albanyson,

Thank you for sending an email through, we'll jump on that for you.

I'm really sorry to hear of your experience - this is definitely not what we what to be providing for you all.

We're reviewing our operation internally to be better moving forward and I can ensure we're taking on board all feedback from each of you commenting here.

              It's super valuable.

Hope you have a nice day ahead.

  • Don't mean to jump onto the existing pile on… but will add that my package has been with Sendle since 1 December, still no sign of beans.

    • +1

      Hi Pacolito,

      Thank you for your message.

I'm sorry to hear you've not received an update on your delivery.

If it's not too much to ask, can you email your order number over to our team and we'll investigate.

      E - [email protected]

Hope you have a nice day :)

      • Julian – have emailed you (twice) as instructed and have received no response. Still no sign of the coffee beans.

        • Hi Pacolito,

My apologies - I've just advised the fulfilment team and they'll reply to your email ASAP.

          Appreciate your patience.

  • As with others, a bit disappointed to still be waiting. A little ironic given the company name. Ordered expecting a Friday 27/11 dispatch, didn't get dropped off till Wed 2/12 (but at 10pm, so effectively Thu 3/12). I understand the demand was unexpected, but it has meant I've had to buy other beans to tide me over.

What kind of updates does Sendle provide? I have nothing since "Parcel picked up" on 3/12.

    • Mine changed to “Parcel transferred to a third party to complete delivery” on 7/12 after being picked up 3/12. No way to tell who.

      • Hi westical,

I'm glad to hear you have received an update.

As mentioned we are reviewing Sendle and the notifications sent to our customers with tracking updates.

I thank you for being patient and wish you a lovely day ahead.

    • Hi Grizzle,

I'm sorry to hear this and my apologies for the delay.

We are reviewing internally the use of Sendle as the experience you are having is certainly not what we want to provide for any of our customers.

We're investigating on our end to get a clearer understanding of updates and notifications from Sendle.

I ask for your patience as we resolve this matter, hope you have a great day.

        Hi lostinsydney,

My sincere apologies you're also in the same boat.

We are working on our end to resolve the issue and find out what the cause is for the delays with Sendle.

We appreciate you patience and I hope you have a great day ahead.

        • No worries, and thanks for the update!

    • Hi su27km,

I'm sorry for the delay you're experiencing.

In the past Sendle have been very good with turnaround times, and I can only assume the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales period has stretched their capacity to deliver.

I appreciate the patience you are showing, and hope you have a nice day ahead.

  • I just hope those fresh beans are well stored away in a dark cool place.

    • yeah, hope only :)
it will be in a dark storage, cool? no guaranty.

    • At this point it won't matter for anyone without a professional grade grinder (Rocky or better, possibly Breville Smart on the most basic end of things). The moisture and oils dry off within 3-7 days in my experience and only an exceptional grinder can still salvage a passable extraction past that point. Most people with average kit will just end up with water pours at the right settings and burns if they go too fine. For the vastest majority of buyers there'll be no way of knowing if this blend was ever any good. Fortunately I've got the gear, so I'm hoping mine turns up at some point so I can make a fair assessment.

      • Hi IPYF,

I appreciate the point you have made here - it's certainly no where near the experience we want to provide you all with.

We are reviewing internally the entire fulfilment process including Sendle to make our operation much better moving forward.

Appreciate your feedback and hope you have a great day ahead.

        • @IPYF You can see an 11 day post roast extraction in the video in my post at https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/9775330/redir - it was, as you say, passable. Mid-range grinder (Sette).

Had my best pour from it last night (day 13), but wasted 3 shots just prior trying to get it. Those 3 weren't far off either, similar to the one in the video. I'll be interested to see what you can get out of it when it arrives.

  • @Coffee On Cue

How do we go about getting a refund.

    This is a bit ridiculous.
The beans, when they do arrive, won't be doing your business any good when we don't get a good extraction.

    • Hi albanyson,

I'm sorry you've experienced such a delay - we are investigating with Sendle to understand the cause of the issue.

It's certainly not the experience we want to provide, but rest assured. When your order does arrive we'd love to help you get the best extraction from your setup and we're here to help.

If you have any other issues or enquires, please email them over at [email protected]

      Have a nice day ahead.

  • +2

Same position as the others with no updates since the first Sendle. I'll send an email like advised to others soon.

Luckily I'm not enough of a coffee snob to probably not know the impact (that's not to say I can't taste the difference between brands), but it's a shame the freshly roasted part isn't going to play out since that's part of package over regular supermarket beans.

Didn't think it was possible to do worse than normal AusPost, but there you go ..

    • Hi dufflover,

I'm sorry to hear you're also in the same position as many others.

Your experience is certainly not what we want to provide for our customers, so we are reviewing and working on making our operation better next time round.

I believe Sendle may have been stretched due to the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales period, and we are investigating with them to determine the root cause.

I do hope you have a nice day ahead.

  • +1

Sendle just seem awful. My original package dated 1/12 is sitting in Brisbane for 3 days now. And cannot contact them until the 10th.
C on Q have been good, they sent a replacement out, so no complaints about them.
But that is also stuck in Melbourne for 2 days now.
    I’m based in Sydney

    • Hi Kah,

My deepest apologies for the delay you've experienced.

This is certainly not the customer experience we want to provide, and we are working internally to improve and are reviewing the entire fulfilment process in order to be better moving forward.

Thank you for your patience, and have a great day ahead.

  • Mine now says parcel was unable to be delivered despite being home all day. Great…

  • Same as others here unfortunately. Melbourne to Sydney, parcel picked up by Sendle on 3rd December 12pm, haven't heard anything since. Pity they won't be fresh by the time they arrive.

    • Hi dunnestgog,

I'm very sorry to read this, and disappointed it's taking so long to get to you.

If you'd like our team to investigate further, you can email direct at [email protected]

Hoping your order arrives soon, and wishing you a lovely afternoon.

  • Very disappointed. From purchase date to receiving it was 2 weeks, I thought you guys were only shipping fresh beans?

    • Hi okbianca,

My apologies it has taken so long to reach you.

Yes, it's our intention to get the freshest beans to all of our customers.

It appears that Sendle who is our courier partner received a far greater demand for delivery due to the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales period, and consequently there have been delays throughout their network.

It's out of our control, but we're doing everything we can to ensure a smoother operation next time and into the future.

We hope you enjoy your coffee and wish you a lovely rest of your week.

      • I understand it was not your intention but it's still very disappointing nonetheless - and Sendle has been notorious for delayed and long shipping for a while now so surprised you guys would use them. The savings in costs for using a cheaper delivery service does not outweigh the negative customer experience (and possibly losing customer retention)

So now that my beans are 2 weeks old and will be 3-4 weeks by the time I'm done with them, any tips on extraction for my Breville Barista Express? BES870BSS

        • Hi okbianca,

I fully appreciate where you're coming from and we are reviewing our entire fulfilment operation to ensure we get better moving forward.

It's a valuable insight you provide regarding cheaper price vs. quicker delivery - all noted and will be passed onto our team.

Regarding a brewing recipe, it does depend on what basket size you are using. But we run our double shots with a 20g dose, 40-45g yield over 25-28 seconds.

          Hope that helps :)

  • +1

Still nothing here. Order was picked up by sendle on the 4th and no updates since. I've run out of beans at home and have ended up spending more buying coffee than I saved on purchasing these on special :( Sendle clearly suck.

    • Hi cainen,

My deepest apologies for the delay, and we hope your order does arrive soon.

We are reviewing how we use Sendle and will be ensuring that we implement the right systems and processes to manage high volume and delivery demands during peak periods.

Again, I'm very sorry for the delay in receiving your order.

  • +2

    Destination Sydney.

Parcel in transit from Melbourne to Brisbane for 6 days now

    • Hi fedwood,

I'm sorry to hear you are still awaiting delivery.

I do hope it gets to you soon.

If you have any enquiries or need assistance please email our team at [email protected]

  • Unfortunately I have to agree that Sendle has spoiled the purchase experience, you might wish to change courier if you want to provide good customer experience.

Purchased & picked up on 1 Dec 20, kudos that you dispatched quickly, however it went to Brisbane (I dont understand how it goes from Melbourne to Sydney Via Brisbane!), and I am still waiting for my "not so fresh" coffee in Sydney.

There was no update and I am out of coffee and thinking to buy some interim beans for now.

    Quite disappointed really…

    • Hi OZGE,

Appreciate your feedback, truly. It's the first time we've experienced such delays with Sendle, so we are proactively reviewing our fulfilment systems to ensure we don't have a repeat.

I'm very sorry for the delay you've experienced.

Please reach out to our team if you need any further assistance - [email protected]

      • Just received my order in Sydney.

Roasted date is on 26/11. Sendle picked up on 1/12, arrived today on 11/12 (via Brisbane!)

        • Hi OZGE,

I'm very pleased to hear your order has arrived.

I'm not sure why Sendle sent your order via Brisbane - apologies for the delay you experienced.

Wish you like the coffee and have a great weekend ahead :)

  • +3

I received my beans yesterday (in Sydney metro), didn't receive any prior notification from Sendle and the tracking went from dropped at hubbed location and didn't update until after delivery, so for those still waiting don't despair and keep a look out for them just appearing.

My son is a barista and he played around with them this morning and below is the best shot he has gotten so far and the flavour was great. This is day 14 from roast, 21gm in and 44.5gm out in 20 seconds. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFovg_wK_Xw

    • Love the set up. What machine is that?

      • It's a Profitec 600

    • Hi robbyjones,

I'm pleased to hear you did receive your order, and that's great to hear (and see) of your experience extracting and brewing up the blend.

I hope you do enjoy your coffee, and apologies it took so long to get to you.

    • Thanks for posting the figures - I wouldn't have normally even tried such a fast extraction but I will as although it's been quite nice with milk, I haven't had a great espresso yet. Best I've found so far is 38-40 g out from 20 g in 30 with a line pressure preinfusion - an example at https://youtu.be/SFgIr1re9eI. I haven't had much success going down to 16 or 18g.

      • That's a better looking extraction speed but a very early blonding point. You guys should get a naked portafilter. It will reveal a lot about your grind and tamp technique.

        • +1

2 week old machine that, like many, came with a useless single PF instead of a naked. But I've exclusively used a naked for 5 years, and grind (Sette which is quite fluffy and with a decent particle size profile) and tamp are good - even WDT'd here as it's been hard to dial in. It's on the purchase list though as line pressure preinfusion is new to me - plus rarely divide anyway.

I don't feel it's channelling here as it's very consistently like this. It's mouse tailing quite a way into the pour and not speeding up excessively, and never flowing heavier from one side - common symptoms of channeling.

Here I think I'm just not getting the right dose for this bean's age, might need to extract higher than 93 degrees as well. I expect the natural discoloration commonly mistaken for blonding, but I agree it does look like there's no goodness left way too early. Crema does feel too dead for 11 day old beans, plus old beans blonding quickly too, so I hope the roasting day is correct.

I tried Robby's formula despite being sceptical, skipped the preinfusion and tried a few times until I hit the same 21g/45g in 20 seconds, was even the same 14 days post roast too. Very similar flow and appearance in the cup. Similarly lots of crema mainly becase the flow was so fast giving it no time to dissipate. It wasn't particularly sour as I expected, but it didn't even cut through 150 mL of milk. I found it very weak and only drinkable I feel because it didn't have enough strength to be terrible.

    • You're definately missing out on a lot with that extraction. You either need to grind finer or tamp firmer. The early blonding is probably a sign of channeling. I recommend you get a naked (bottomless) portafilter, it will reveal a lot about what's going on in the basket that you wouldn't normally see.

I saw all the feedback regarding Sendle delayed delivery (which I also experienced) and figured no need to post since the rest of the OzB community has made it pretty clear what we think of their service.

But having been in my apartment all morning and receiving an email saying "Organise a redelivery for your parcel from Coffee on Cue" when no one even bothered to buzz the intercom is pathetic. I'm hoping this doesn't tarnish the Coffee on Cue brand too much as I think they were genuinely trying to give us a good deal and went to the effort of processing 2 x 500g bags after we all placed our orders.

    • Hi pure genious,

That's really disappointing to read - I'm very sorry for the experience you've had regarding delivery.

We're reviewing our entire fulfilment process with the aim to be far better moving forward to deliver a better experience for you all.

I do wish you have a great Friday ahead.

Very disappointing experience with my order. I can accept delays on delivery, but not responding to emails is crap.
I could have walked from my place (30kms) and back to Coffee on Cue to pick up my order before I receive it via Sendle.
Serves me right for not using my usual coffee suppliers.

    • Hi robop72,

I'm sorry to hear of your experience, and I understand your frustration regarding delivery.

We're reviewing our delivery systems and will be making some changes given the feedback we've received from you all.

Hope you have a nice day ahead.

      • Thanks @julianm and team for resolving my order issue. Can’t wait to taste the coffee

        • No worries robop72 - we also can't wait for you to taste the coffee.

Wishing you a great Sunday :)

Is Sendle an actual courier or just a broker?

Silly me was hoping the beans would get here by first week of December, I have since bought 500g from a local cafe while waiting for this order to appear. Down to the last 150g now and still no sight of it.

Totally ruin the experience. Will stick with local roasters in the future.

      Hi browser,

I'm sorry to hear of the delay you've experienced.

Sendle act as a broker, which means there is little control once we've handed over the orders.

This is led us to review this entire component of our delivery system, it's not good enough and we are working on making some changes immediately given the feedback from you all.

I do hope your order arrives soon, and wish you a great Friday ahead.

  • I feel bad for coffeoncue - clearly didn't expect such a positive response from the deal and have now been let down by the delivery.

Mine have been with Sendle since 1 December and only just now updated to "Parcel transferred to a third party to complete delivery". I'm in metro Sydney, not the sticks. And not sure what to expect from a Ground Filter after this delay..

    • Hi chriise,

Thanks for your message - it's been a bit challenging but we have learnt a lot and will come back better and stronger for it.

We appreciate everyones feedback, opinions and patience.

If you'd like us to investigate further with Sendle, please send over an email with your order over to [email protected]

Wishing you a great weekend ahead.
